Gift certificates. It's the way I preorder games, buy a gift certificate of say £10, put it on my account apply it to the order. Repeat as much as I want till it's paid off.
...why?
...why?
Say a game comes out in November, I have no guarantee that i'll have the spare money the week it comes out. So whenever I get a paycheck, I put £20 towards whatever games I have on preorder.

That's kinda smart actually. I hate how amazon waits to take the money for preorders because then I got to remember to have it in my account.

In August/September, I have over £250 worth of games on preorder, there is no way i'll have the money for that then. So i've already paid for £120 of it.

shopto.net lets you pay for pre-orders in advance.
shopto.net lets you pay for pre-orders in advance.
But you have to pay the full amount.
But you have to pay the full amount.
Yeah that's kinda the point.
Yeah that's kinda the point.
What I was saying is pay little by little rather than the full lump sum. Take for example the GTA V Collectors Edition, I've paid £60 of it already, leaving only £60 to pay off between now and September. If I were to pay for it on Shopto, i'd have to pay all £120 straight away.
for the people that got the game early and beat it, are there as many dynamic animation 'encounters' with the AI (such as the ai grabbing your gun and taking you hostage, in that extended demo vid) as there were in the demonstration videos? im really hoping it wasn't a big ruse or something.
When can us europeans pre-load?
FUCK THAT ENDING
[editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
[sp] THAT IS ABSOLUTELY FUCKING STUPID. The cliffhanger they left us with better be a fucking sequel. I'm not ending this game knowing that he just said 'YEAH I'M TELLING THE TRUTH.' FUCK YOU JOEL. [/SP]

Okay, to those of you who have pre-ordered it online and have already had it arrive... What website did you order it through? I want to try ordering online next time a good game is out, but I am scared to because I don't want to risk it coming in late... And I am also pissed off because they aren't doing a midnight launch here. Either way I'm missing out.
Also, why the hell did you rush through the game AND skip cutscenes? That's ridiculous, man. I know it's a late response, but fuck.
I'm thinking of playing on the hardest difficulty first thing. Also, are there hidden objects around the world that I need to find for trophies? Uncharted obviously had treasures, is there something similar in The Last Of Us?
I want to click that spoiler warning posted above so badly, but I am scared to.

Also, for anybody who wants to do the MP with me... I won't be playing MP right away, planning on going through SP once or twice before bothering with it, feel free to add me on PSN. My ID is REDSiN66.

Amazon UK.

Yup. Just looking through the list of trophies now. 4 types of collectibles in the game, with 2 silver and 2 bronze trophies for finding a complete collection of each type. Then there's a gold one for finding them all.

Perfect. This will definitely consume some time, but all the more reason to play through a number of times if I miss anything. That's the one great thing about trophies. Gives players much more incentive to play again and experience everything the game has to offer.
I can't wait to get my copy, I really wish I could play :(

I really wish I was you right now, PieClock.

Assuming you just like collecting things, and not collecting trophies specifically you'll be happy to know there's also [sp]19 in-game costumes for Joel and Ellie that you can buy (with in-game money) after you finish the game on certain difficulties. There's also "render modes" that you can buy which allow you to play the game in black and white etc. And concept art.[/sp]
(Spoiler isn't big or story related, but did it anyway in case there's someone wanting to go in blind)

Oh so it's like Uncharted 1 and 2? That's cool.
this game looks like it's gonna be a keeper.
i just love the keep it thingy on gamefly. you can get games used for like 15 bucks less than you could at fuckstop.
I take back saying this isn't challenging.
Oh god.

Oh god yes, I cannot wait!!!
Just got the Survival Editions in at Gamestop today. Oh my god it's so pretty and it's going to make the wait for Friday intolerable. I WANT MY ART BOOK!
I am really looking forward to the art book as well. I'm looking forward to everything! I don't know if I will go through the art book right away though, I can see myself running home like a little kid being chased by bullies Friday morning, heart racing and out of breathe when I get back to my apartment. I need to plaaaay.

The art book is gigantic, so they weren't kidding when they said 'full-size'. I picked up the box for the Survival Edition and it's just slightly bigger than a normal strategy guide. Who's excited? This guy.
After ACM and Simcity I swore I would never pre-order games again...
But since this got great reviews and some who have gotten their hands on it really enjoy it, I can't resist.

What the fuck, I called gamestop a week ago about the survival edition and they said they aren't taking preorders anymore for that :C.
I really want to get the art book.
I only recently got the money for one of the special editions, which I really wanted, but the GameStop near me is sold out :(

Well we did stop taking pre-orders a while back. These are said pre-orders :v:
Took some self-control to avoid opening my copy.
Jean, how come Gamestop / EB Games are always advertised as hiring, but never hire new staff? I want a job with you guys. They never hire ANYONE!
Jean, how come Gamestop / EB Games are always advertised as hiring, but never hire new staff? I want a job with you guys. They never hire ANYONE!
From my experience, Gamestop can be stingy when it comes to payroll. They tend to hire only during the summer months and during the holiday rush, after which they'll generally only keep one or two of their holiday hires. If your particular store is advertising that they're hiring when they aren't actually doing so, it's more than likely that they simply forgot to remove the sign. I know we've forgotten about it a couple times.
Considering my birthday is in a month, I'll prob just get this then.
