I'm so fucking bad at this game since it's the first time I've used a controller in years. I keep dying on normal difficulty.
My gamestop closes in an hour, I still have the chance to go back, refund my pre-order, and buy $60 in pre-paid PSN cards to buy TLoU on PSN and download it at midnight.
Should I? I've slept most of the day so I'll probably be up all night anyway.
It'll take you probably a good 4-6 hours to download the game depending on your internet, and you'll lose out on your pre-order bonuses. I'd just wait until morning.
My game still hasn't shipped from Amazon.
It's been stuck at "Shipping Now" for over 12 hours.
I ordered mine from Amazon a couple hours before the release day shipping deadline and it shipped out at 3 in the morning :v:
Eli's AI broke and shes stuck up high and as such I cant move the ladder she was standing next to... GG

I ordered mine last Saturday, the 8th.
Oh wow ok, So i had to restart the game and ive lost about 3-4 hours of progress, aparently the game didnt bother autosaving or checkpointing for the last few hours, good fucking game.
edit: starting up the game again it wanted to patch it'self just now. I assume it was a bug or something. Just a forewarning if you pause the game and it says 'auto saving: please wait' and it says that every time you pause start to get worried.
I live in the middle of butt fuck no where in the mountains of British Columbia so i sadly have to drive a few hours to get to a store to buy it and can't just get it mailed to me or else i'd be waiting for another week to get it :(

Please tell me you tried "Restart Encounter" on the pause menu before restarting your game. :v:

Um no since that was in Uncharted 3 and it worked the same way.
It was literally stuck 'Autosaving' I left it on there for a good 15mins or so while i cooked, nothing happened. It didnt even save my chapter progress. It reverted to an autosave near the start of the game :(
I had just [sp]Gotten the car and crashed it, and was progressing through the second city[/sp]
Accidentally picked up the season pass due to a silver tongued salesman, did I fuck up? :v:
i couldn't hate that more lol. even if you didn't fuck up most likely.
gamestop?
I really wanted to get this game. But I don't have a Playstation 3 anymore.
But now I do.
I made an impulse purchase of a PS3 and The Last of Us, and I'm picking up the game at midnight. I couldn't be more ready.
I am debating the season pass right now. I was going to spend the money on it but bought a case of beer instead, so I can have a few tomorrow while I play, and tonight while I wait and can't sleep due to the anticipation.
I'm sure there will be some bugs though, like the issue with your save, etc... That's just to be expected on the first day unfortunately... Just imagine how it would have been if Naughty Dog hadn't pushed back the release date to the 14th, and instead released it in May or whenever that was planned... It would have been a lot worse with glitches and issues.
Be happy :)
Just finished it.
Was good, hooked all the way through it and had no incentive to stop playing as it was that good. The pacing is spot on, you're never fighting enemies or doing nothing for too long to get bored of the game and it always keeps things fresh.
14 hours 25minutes. Played on hard, went out of my way to search for stuff and read every note and listened to every tape I came across

14 hours is a fair amount of time... But would you play through it again? That's the real question. I like getting at least two playthroughs from games, and I'm really hoping this one makes me want to play three or more times.

Yeah going to do one on the next highest difficulty on NG+.
I think it's worth a couple playthroughs at least.
MP is alright too. Make sure you don't give it a pass. It's surprising how much it feels like singleplayer.
So what would you guys suggest for starting the SP, start on normal or try to jump into hard? Honestly i'm thinking of just doing hard since i almost never do multiple playthrough of games (no matter how good they are, i just don't have the attention span for it) and i want some trophies

Just do hard. Fits the game more and doesn't feel like its trying to be cheap either.
It's one of those games where you can appreciate it more by playing on a higher difficulty
What difficulties are there? Is there anything after hard besides an unlockable one that you have to play on hard to unlock?
What difficulties are there? Is there anything after hard besides an unlockable one that you have to play on hard to unlock?
There's survivor after hard which unlocks after completing the game.
Unfortunately it seems you have to start a new game on survivor and finish it again before you can NG+ survivor. So platinum will require 3 playthroughs.
First play-through can be Easy, Normal, Hard, then you can play on an even harder one. So 4 altogether. Not sure if NG+ ups the difficulty a bit, but I doubt it.
I found hard far too frustrating :(
There's 93 minutes(unless i miscounted) of cutscenes as the time is listed on them on bonus menu.
Not too bad, over 12 hours actual gameplay for me.
GUYS IM SO EXCITED I WISH IT WAS TOMORROW I NEED TO PLAAAAAAY.
[editline]13th June 2013[/editline]

i hope you get it tomorrow, or friday, whatever it is. the 14th regardless. i want everyone to play this game!
I'm a little confused. Wikipedia and the website says it comes out tomorrow, but posts from over 24 hours ago (so it can't be timezones) imply they've already finished it. Did I miss some promotion or something?
