They said that the gameplay wasn't scripted in the E3 demo, for those that were wondering about scripted a.i.
Thats pretty awesome... I love that part when he try to shot with empty magazine, and enemy says "I know that sound!".. I will do that in game just to see their reactions
I hope you can go all the way to the top of those skyscrapers in the back.
How much does a PS3 even cost nowadays?

I was looking and it's about €250. So probably the same in dollars, maybe less.

Apparently Walmart sells them for like $250, Target for $225. That doesn't seem so bad, especially compared to the $500 I paid for my Xbox 360 like four years ago.
Fuck that fungus scared the shit out of me in Planet Earth, now it's in a game? Scary as shit
I'll still get it anyway, conquer my fungus phobia
This game looks interesting, but I want to know how scripted its going to feel. Like the events where you have to rely on the girl to come and stab the man choking you in the back, is that a scripted event or will that happen frequently?
I will get a ps3 just to play this.
I didn't see anything about voice actors and I don't recognize her voice enough.
Is that supposed to look like Ellen Page or is it a coincidence?
I think it looks good story wise, but I don't think the gameplay is going to be that stellar to me considering I just played Max Payne 3
naturalmotion and all :eng101:

It'd be pretty hard to do that not purposely. Seeing as you can easily see your ammo count in the corner.

I hope they will have option to hide HUD
this looks amazing
almost like a live action tv series but a game
It'd be pretty hard to do that not purposely. Seeing as you can easily see your ammo count in the corner.
That doesn't make any sense. The game won't know if the player was looking at the ammo and dry-fired so it would always happen whenever the AI hears you pull the trigger of any dry weapon.
The amount of detail in this is incredible. I really can't wait for this, it'll be a day one buy from me.

What I think he was saying is that it would be hard to accidentally dry fire a weapon, because ammo conservation is so important in this game.
I'm curious as to how the combat system gameplay works during those one-on-one sequences

It's probably like a PRESS X, then O, press SQUARE repeatedly! you killed him! good job.
I don't think it can get any better than that actually. There isn't much you can use to your advantange when making a game that has hand-to-hand and one on one combat situations that turn into a quicktime event. It's always going to be a "press y button to x and win"
Unless that changes, which might be awesome but then again it might get more confusing having more variables, making the game more frustrating than it should be.

Uncharted's 1v1 melee combat system was basically hit square for a fast combo, and hit square and triangle for a brutal combo (which gave more ammo).
I'm thinking it'll be something like the Witcher 2 with brawls in the tavern/pubs.
I am sooooooooooooo tired of seeing an awesome game then finding it only for fucking consoles
I am sooooooooooooo tired of seeing an awesome game then finding it only for fucking consoles
If you buy the PlayStation 3 from Sony's site and have them ship it to you, you only pay 200 bucks. Anyone with any sort of substantial income could afford that, and if you couldn't I'm sure you could just save up, by the time that The Last of Us actually comes out I'm pretty sure you'd save up enough to buy the console and the game and probably the entire uncharted series, unless you're that stripped on cash
I can't stop calling this game "I Am Alive" when I talk to people about it.
Yeah, I am Alive should have been this, I was so hyped with the trailer but then I saw the gameplay and went from ":O!" to ":/"
I'm really excited about this game, although it looked fairly linear in the demo, not like that matters though, it's really well polished, and the gameplay looks amazing in its self.

like i said exclusives make a console sell, you know how many people bought halo on xbox to play with their friends
This game looks amazing to me and I am actually not mad because its console only but I guess that is because I don't only have a gaming computer but also own consoles but I do believe it would be great on PC.
so that is ellen page just in kid form? or was that the quantic dream game and she dropped her role in this to be in the movie/game thing with again lots of rain.
this game looks alright but i call bullshit on the whole dynamic AI thing. i mean she gets a brick to purposely use for later. looked like something they just put in.
if this game is truly that advanced i will suck naughty dog's... you know what i don't even wanna say it.
then again the hand to hand combat seems contextualized by the environment, just like the interrogations in splinter cell conviction, only much less shit it seems. and that's pretty impressive.
this game really does seem to be what i am alive was supposed to. least naughty dog is a fairly dependable dev afaik, so they'll stay true to the hype
This game looks amazing. Can't wait to see someone to put all cutscenes into 1 full movie just like Uncharted.
also to the "seductive lips" guy i can tell what you're talking about but i completely disagree.
she's a god damn young teenager, of course she's going to be in the process of filling out. but the fact that she's young makes her off limits in any kind of that respect and really reaffirms her role as a side kick and helps ground that role.
basically it's a female character the devs intended to have no sex appeal because they wanted an uncomplicated and interesting duo. if it were a little dude it wouldn't be the same and her being a girl mixes things up. and if it were a grown woman or nearly grown woman or even teenager she'd not carry the urgency (we all have a human instinct to protect youth) and would probably be fuck annoying.

It's been pointed out about 10 times in this thread already that it's not super scripted and the AI is just meant to have responses to certain cues like running out of ammo and dry firing, or if you get shot.

she has lots of sex appeal.
