Yea it's definitely not but I just keep imagining different scenarios that could come in the game because of that fact now. Eh it's whatever, I'm still soo enjoying the story right now.
I'm interesting in picking up the art book for this game. Is it any good? Does it give much insight into development of the game?
I didn't have enough for that season pass. Oh well, can you still get it? I suppose not.

Oh it's HUGE and wonderfully full of details, definitely worth it. I skimmed through it but I'm not going to fully indulge until I finish the game because there are a good amount of spoilers in it.
the mp is so fucking good
maybe its because i didnt have any expectations for it but holy shit its so intense
I just wish my teammates weren't retarded.
Any idea if any of the future DLC is singleplayer based? Like Stand alone stories or what? Or is it just all multiplayer stuff?
Well I saw this shit coming a mile away
[sp]Joel dying and then you play as Ellie, didn't make it any less sad though. I felt like Naughty Dog did us a favor by not tugging our heart strings anymore than they needed to[/sp]
[sp]Nevermind, I suppose she needs the medicine for him? False alarm[/sp]
[sp]Yep he's alive, just incredibly sick[/sp]
why
did i click on that first one
WHY
Fuck clickers, if you see one you might as well just forget about stealth.
Clickers are total cunts at the start of the game, but as you aquire more equiptment through the game they become less of a hassle. However I really don't like the way they're handled gameplay wise especially in those early hours of the game. I understand in the context of the world/narritive why you would get murdered by a Clicker if you try fighting one hand to hand, but as a game mechanic its more frustrating than fun.

It was a false alarm, it doesn't actually happen. Sorry for the scare :(
Clickers are fucking horrifying.

Agree with you.
It's a bit slower then the multiplayer games I'm used to playing; but that's what I really enjoy about it. There's an ever building tension when you don't know where the enemy is; and the listening mechanic works wonders when you want to gain a bearing on your environment. It feels less focused on reaction time and more so on tactics (I.E, what skills can I chose that best play with my strengths or this load out?). Running into situations means you're going to die.
Confrontations are usually short and end brutally. Executions are delightfully fun to pull off, and it's awesome to watch as you aim a silent pistol at a man's head while he's on the ground and watching the horror in their eyes (I must be sadistic).
I actually found myself stopping the campaign to get some multiplayer action in; something I didn't expect while waiting for the game. All it could use is more then two game modes, something I'm sure we're going to have to fork out cash for. That said, I've almost made up my mind and will probably get the season pass for this game.

I think the reason why Naughty Dog put an absence on an "Infected" gamemode was simply because when it's all said and done there'll be a specific spot that people will camp as it's the most beneficial and end up ruining the gamemode.
What a joke of an ending. As soon as the credits rolled, I was like "is that it?"
To be fair the writers did dig themselves into a pit by [sp]letting Joel intervene without being killed/stopped[/sp]. Another better ending could have been [sp]through some turn of events, an alternative cure that doesn't involve killing Ellie[/sp].
Or they could have even gone for potentially the best ending, something that I was expecting to happen at any minute but it never came - [sp]Joel giving in while on the hospital bed, begging to say a final goodbye, wish granted, is all very sad, best ending 2013.[/sp]
But yeah good game overall - despite the massive lack of music (way beyond justifiable atmospheric silence) and repetitive/frustrating gameplay (I would have preferred gameplay in the style of Dear Esther for this game, no joke), the sound design, graphics (especially lighting and underlying art) and story (sans ending) were all extremely good and bring it up to a solid 8.5-9/10.
once you realize that it's easier to just turn around and sprint once a clicker notices you and then hide for a little bit while you figure out how to kill it, clickers really aren't that frustrating anymore

They're still fucking terrifying though :v:

I really think the ending was excellent.
[sp]Joel grew so attatched to Ellie he basically replaced his own dead daughter, Joel was was broken man at the core and needed someone to cling to. The fact that he was selfish enough to rescue Ellie and potentially condemn thousands of future people to death was a good choice for his character. Not everyone turns to the greater good or what would be perceived as morally right.
As for the way it ended I liked it, not every story has to end dramatically, everything was wrapped up neatly to that point.[/sp]
I got past the [sp]high school clickers[/sp] part I was in earlier, then I took 20 minutes to finish a single encounter ([sp]the Hunters at the old checkpoint before the hotel[/sp]) after countless tries. When you're low on resources and everything else, this game becomes a lot like Hotline Miami.
I played a bunch of the multiplayer today too and it was fucking intense.
Every game I played in, you could be damn certain that if you get downed by an enemy, your teammates would flood the area, rush the culprit mid-execution and curbstomp, swing planks of wood at, and generally just beat the everloving shit out of that sorry bastard.
It's fucking primal.
Up to [sp]Where your ambushed by hunters the stealth is fucking hard[/sp]
Only gripe is clickers detection can be unusual

I got stuck [sp]at the part after you fall down the elevator shaft, and have to open the door that requires and ID card[/sp] with no resources. That shit was difficult :v:
Goddamnit, I just drove to every Walmart in a 4 mile radius and all of them are sold out of this game. Gamestop and Bestbuy are closed, and PSN takes 12+ hours to download (and it actually broke down and restarted when I tried to download Red Dead Redemption) - plus it doesn't come with any goodies, like the manual and/or artbook.
Do you guys know anywhere that's still selling this game without requiring a pre-order?
Well I just finished it. Took me long enough - been playing since Wednesday.
Ending spoilers:
[sp]Not sure what to think about that. Damn. I was completely on Joel's side for saving Ellie, but those last few lines makes you think about how much you selfishly sacrificed to save her. That was a great story nonetheless.[/sp]
Is it bad for me to want to buy a PS3 just to play this? It's exactly my type of game from a storyline & setting perspective - it looks absolutely spectacular.

I watched a walkthrough and got to the ending. I understand what they went for but [sp]it's extremely selfish of Joel, especially seeing Ellie was ready to do what was necessary.[/sp]

Don't buy it just for The Last of Us
Buy it for Twisted Metal, Resistance 1/2/3, Killzone 2/3, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 1/2/3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Dust514, Yakuza 3/4, Demon's Souls, inFamous 1/2, Motorstorm Apocalypse, Journey, Beyond Two Souls, God of War 3/Ascension, Heavenly Sword, Siren, The Last Guardian (lol). Warhawk, MAG, Way of the Samurai 4
Not to mention the HD remasters of things like Ico/Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry 1/2/3, God of War 1/2, Prince of Persia trilogy, Sly Cooper 1/2, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell/Pandora Tomorrow/Chaos Theory.
When you put it that way, it's much more valuable, even with the PS4 right around the corner.
Wat. I just got ellie edition cheaper than what the game costs alone. I aint even mad.

You're right [sp]he was selfish. However I think Ellie would have changed her mind or at least argued with what the fireflies wanted. From the point where she drowned to the point where you pick her up in the surgery she had been unconscious the whole time (as evident from when she woke up in the car, if she had known she was going to be killed from the surgery she would have had very different questions and reactions).[/sp]
[sp]The thing is, Ellie doesn't know that the saving the world would have killed her, and that it wouldn't have been just a simple blood draw like Joel tells her it would probably be during the game so she may agree with Joel in saving her.[/sp]

Although I just finished a walkthrough,
[sp]I have to quite say the ending was nicely put together, definitely one of the best endings I've seen to a game in recent years[/sp]
My PS3 crashed when I was at winter, was going to do the whole thing at once because of the save glitch. Then it crashed. Now I'm back at the third chapter and have lost about 8 hours of gametime.
I'm done.
