Weren't some maps supposed to have spore areas where you put on a mask or something? I thought I read that when they posted the multiplayer trailer
I think I'm gonna play it again Hard, no listen mode, no hints/button hints.
Features like listen mode really take the risk away when you can just stand behind a wall and watch enemy patrols, unless of course they're stationary.
Apparently the new Thief is going to have something like this at some point in the game.
Picking up a PS3 soon though and this is the first game I'm going to play.
How does the multiplayer function compared to traditional deathmatch in this? Sounds interesting.
What is the Facebook integration for Multiplayer? Loaded multiplayer to see what the options were, and let it connect to my facebook. But don't know what it did.

There are two modes, one where you respawn but the team has a limited amount of respawn tickets and one where you don't respawn. The modes themselves are very traditional, but the base gameplay is what makes it interesting. It's very slow paced and sticking together is very important since you can revive each other. You can find materials around the map that you can use for crafting items like bombs and armor.
Just finished it, took me about 14 hours. What a ride.

It will take your facebook friends and make them member of your group. You'll see messages about what they're doing and stuff. That's pretty much all it does, I don't think it posts any status updates or anything.

Listen mode would have been a lot better if it wasn't just a built in wallhack. You should only be able to see the general area where the enemy should be and you certainly shouldn't be able to see which direction they're facing.
This game is really intense. I'm in [sp]Pittsburgh, been separated from Ellie.[/sp] How far am I in? Is it close to the end? I don't want it to stop.
It's a really enjoyable experience. I wouldn't use the word fun. It's not fun, it's actually pretty intense. But it's so good. I really like the pacing and how just as you begin to get use to fighting one sort of enemy it throws you into the deep end with another. Then by the time you get back to that enemy you were previously comfortable with you're out of your depth again.
It's the first "survival horror" I've played in such a long time where it feels like actual survival. I was concerned when I saw all the 10/10 reviews which exclusively spoke about the story and characters, yet didn't mention the gameplay itself. I think the stealth is a bit jittery (I would like a cling to wall button option) and the forced gunfights break the atmosphere a little. But it's overall well polished and crafted. I sit down to play for an hour and find myself still glued 3 hours later.
The game alone has convinced me that Naughty Dog is one of the pinnacle developers. Not touched the mutiplayer yet as I don't usually care much for multiplayer games, is it any good?
This game is really, really good. Just finished "winter".
David was played by Nolan North :D

You're not even halfway through.
i have a few questions about multiplayer
is it good?
is it thriving?
does it require a code you get with purchase? or do those of us who rented it required to buy a code?
also when does the actual game start? i'm with ellie but also with this other female companion. this entire stretch feels like a drawn out tutorial level. and i've scoured levels a lot so far only to find enough stuff to make two shanks and i just made a medkit. i'm in the wrecked building part and i just dropped down into an area with a zombie you can sneak up on, two other zombies and a clicker.
I'm playing on hard. so far it feels like the right difficulty because the game is a real challenge but not so much so that its to hard. i can tell this game is going to take me a long time to finish and im going to love every second of it. the only thing i don't like though is how drawn out the prologue is.

also i fucking hate how clickers instakill.
Multiplayer is great, there are plenty of people playing, and you need an online pass.
Also, you are at the very beginning of the game, you should still have like 13 hours left if you're not rushing.
winter has got to be my favourite part i think.

Its not a prologue, the game basically starts when it starts.

I hate your username. My name is Luke and the first initial of my last name is O.
You suck.

So what exactly does new game+ add?

To me the game starts when it stops throwing bunch of tutorial stuff at you
wow
i keep getting amazed by this game, i'm about 70% in, i think, at the university (which by the way blew my mind, because of the graphics)
can't believe it's on 7 year old hardware sometimes.
Is it just me or are there way too many framerate drops this game? I've seen so many it's starting to look unprofessional.

Naughty Gods.
Also the prologue was fucking intense, probably the third time ever I cried playing a videogame [sp]I'm such a wuss[/sp]
Also also, fuck Clickers
Just finished it.
Game of the Generation.

Sadly this is the case with nearly every console game these days. Thank god we have new ones finally coming out this year :v:. I didn't really find it that bad when it comes to this game though.
[sp]So... Sam and Henry just died. Sam being infected and Henry killing himself. I was just curious as to if that part where they both get jumped on by infected and you choose which one to shoot off, does that affect it at all? Like would Henry be the infected one if I had shot the infected off of Sam?[/sp]
End of summer spoilers.

[sp]No, my friend shot the infected off of Sam but Sam was still infected regardless[/sp]

[sp]I don't think so. I'm p. sure I shot the infected off of sam, but he turned anyway.[/sp]

It's just that in Uncharted 3 there were almost none at all, unless you did something you weren't intended to. In this game I noticed a lot even when I was just walking around a certain area. Kinda expected better from ND. Not a huge deal but it still looks really bad and degrades from the quality of the game.

In fairness, I think Last of Us is doing some graphical wizardy that's substantially better than Uncharted 3, even considering how superb that game looked. The soft-shadowing and global illumination (real and faked) in The Last of Us is genuinely some of the best I've ever seen. I'm really hoping that Naughty Dog ports their PS3 titles to PS4 at some point, given they're going to be using the same engine on both platforms.

Yeah the framerate isn't great and seems to struggle to keep at 30 fps most of the time. My biggest issue with the game personally.
