Is there gonna be any SP dlc? Like Tommys story or something...
According to ND there will be 1 SP DLC and 2 MP DLC's.
No real details on any of them though.
This game remind me alot of the movie Children of men, and i mean alot.

To other artifact and note collectors, does anyone know the fate of Ish? [sp]I enjoyed reading his little notes he left behind on his journey from abandoning his boat to living in the sewers. The last note I read was the one he left in one of the homes immediately after leaving the sewers where he took shelter with his wife.[/sp]
That's the last one sadly.
I wanted to know his fate too and that was the answer I got out of a bit of googling.
I hope he survived.

[sp]I Found a kids drawing near the end where you and sam work together to take down the ladder and it showed Ish and the other guy dressed in swat/security gear. now earlier in the level if you entered the room after you threw down the pallet into the water you'll find two clickers in swat/security gear so i guess those two clickers were Ish and the other guy. :([/sp]
We should set up a FP clan or something
I love the MP but damn some people can be assholes to play with
I didn't like the ending.
[sp]I mean I understand that Ellie reminds Joel of his daughter, but for fuck sake he doomed the entire human race and killed dozens of innocent people first hand just to be with her. It just felt really dumb. Through the entire hospital sequence I kept thinking "Joel are you the most retarded person on earth or something"[/sp]

Most of the community has come to the consensus that
[sp] 1. It was for a vaccine not a cure which means it only prevents new infections from happening
2. It wasn't guarenteed that it would turn out with one anyway
3. If it does work the infected are still around and a threat
4. Who is to say that the fireflys are the right ones to trust with this? What if they charge for it using ration tickets or withhold it using it on people who follow their ways or even withhold it from the military as they were assholes to them throughout the war
5. How are they going to mass distribute this vaccine or even mass produce it? If you havent noticed people are still assholes and that wont change as the military barely works as it is within quarantine zones and i doubt that they can take back everything[/sp]

[sp]the human race is already doomed. Everything's gone, the quarantine zones are militarized to the point they're openly shooting civilians on the street and there's rebels everywhere. Too much time has passed in my opinion, the world couldn't simply go back to normality and I think Joel knew that. They said they could *maybe* find a cure, that doesn't mean they could fix all infected, there was a small chance that it could prevent further infection, but the world would always be utter shite. All through the game you passed quarantine zones that had been overrun/taken over by bandits/riots. "Give us our rations" etc.
I think Joel wasn't ready to make that sacrifice, the only thing normal to him was this little girl and the dream of settling down in Tommy's settlement, a place with good families, self sustain and electricity. "Kids will be watching television tonight" - Tommy. [/sp]

Ending spoilers:
[sp] The Fireflies are probably just using the whole "we'll save maaaaankind" to further their power, I doubt they'd even give the vaccine, if it worked, to the military or some bandits or anyone that went against them in the past or in views. That would probably deal with the supply point since only a select few would have it, it's a shame the vaccine is actually quite lackluster in the end, oh wow you can't get infected too bad you can still die by the infected bashing your face in because they're still around. The Fireflies already have all these things to gain them superior ground, fucking assault rifles, vehicles, electricity etc. Like actual assault rifles, fully automatic.
The risk of failure, with it already being slim to none of a chance (at the start of the game didn't a vaccine already supposedly fail? could be wrong on that though) and the actual sacrifice that's too great to allow.
The problem here Scot is that you think the vaccine will work 100% and will be given to everyone in the world, or even the sole country instantly at the time of creation when it wouldn't do much at the stage most are dead or infected (some WHO report, WHO I think at the university dorm room: "What the fuck they're not coming for us" *Reports indicate that of the world's population 60% has been either killed or turned, this government guy has called off search and rescue operations*. This is the figure at the time of publishing the document, much more since then have no doubt been infected/killed. If you were to vaccinate mankind you would have to go around the world to all the different countries, find the survivors and give them the vaccines. Nigh impossible when you can barely go down your own countries' road without problems.
People are too survival-focused to bother with a vaccine, best just wait till society comes back. Tommy's camp powered by the hydro dam is the start of that, long way to go however, I mean it would take a very long time for anything to change seeing as how the infected remain as well. I wonder how they feed though, perhaps they do eat but can last a very long period without food. I must be crazy because I'm sure I saw the two runners you first encounter with Tess that attack a woman actually eat her, so I just sneaked past but had no idea where to go and they saw and attacked me without me knowing, was quite the surprise, survived obviously.[/sp]
Just got to the [sp]university.[/sp]
How much longer do I have left on this amazing game?
Two questions to everybody from me:
1) Personally, what is your favourite part of the game?
2) Is there anywhere where I can get some of your guys' PSN usernames? I'd love to play online with you lot. :v:

Check the percentage on your save file, that's the story progress.
Was anyone else expecting at the university [sp]that the monkies would be an enemy you would have to face? They just run away never to be seen again. Bye bye infected monkies. Also the doctor handling the monkies was a fucking moron. Steve Blum you dummy.[/sp]

if you look at your saves it should give you a percentage
Really enjoying the MP. Had some great squads and some equally great comebacks from 0-3, none of which I played any useful part in :v:
[sp]those fucking notes left by Ish and Kyle were the worst. That was the most depressing part of the game IMO.[/sp]

Also it took me over 16 hours to complete is that normal

Grimace really let himself go
I want DLC where you play as Ish.
[sp]You find his notes on the boat and inside the sewer. You know he gets out but nothing much beyond that. It could start with him coming to shore and seeing how things have gone to shit and show him building his community. The end of the prologue could be his group being killed and then pick up from there, covering several years and running parallel to the main story.[/sp] I'd buy it. Not even finished the main game yet.
He's obviously set up to be a Moby Dick reference too. Just seems like such a good story to leave untouched in this age of DLC expansion.

Not bad, but it's more reminiscent of the Flood from Halo than it is a clicker. Remember, the fungus that destroys the eyes kind of blossoms outwards like a mushroom or a flower, rather than looking like bulbs.

[sp]That would be cool to see his hideout full of people and kids, then the downfall and the story of what happens afterwards, I'd buy it too.[/sp]
Seems like this game is going to become the PS3's "Shadow of the Colossus" - generally regarded as a landmark in design, came out late in the console's lifespan, and pushed the console's hardware to its limits.
BTW if you guys haven't played that on the PS2 you should because its seriously one of the best games I've ever played, and I'd probably rank it as my #1 game from 2000-2010, and I'm predominantly a PC gamer.

We're still waiting on The Last Guardian ;_;

[sp]I was already aware that the monkeys were just carriers of the infection like Ellie, infected but immune and so wouldn't turn. Seeing as how monkeys are so close to Humans it's understandable for them to attempt to test on them but there is quite a big difference separating us, explaining why they're immune. But the problem is you'd think they would actually first jump to primates, turning them then jump to Humans but it seems it just out right jumps from insects to Humans.
Then again this actually isn't the real world disease itself, it's actually a "strain" of it, I guess this evolved for Humans instead.
It's a shame mankind is at the brink of extinction, with barely any people left and those that are, are in different parts of the world, separated. Re population is seemingly a no-no, who's to say they have a camp like Tommy's? At least one? Or a group that wants to actually live and not survive day-to-day? They're probably too busy fighting to do anything like begin society again even if all that the future holds is extinction.
Having grown to be fond of the characters and the revelation that you won't play as them if a sequel were to be made crushed me, it's basically "oh wow you like the characters finally, too bad here's some new ones". I demand a white house petition to order ND to include Joel and Ellie as the main playable characters![/sp]
[sp]Fuck you Joel, you selfish cunt.
but also I'm glad you saved her
but you could've saved humanity

[sp] As said humanity is too devastated for a vaccine to be of use, there's like more than 60% of the world population gone, either dead or infected, too late for any vaccine, explained via a document (I remember it being a WHO document I think) in one of the the uni dorm rooms, just says how at the time of publishing 60% of the world population is either dead or infected, I'd say you should add more on like around 65%+ since over time more would die or become infected. But then comes the problem of continuing the species since everyone is in different countries, one country wouldn't hold enough people to allow re population since the species is separated and a certain number of people is required for a species to prevent extinction. Didn't scientists actually determine the amount needed, what was it like a few million? Like it matters if you're immune if you can still have your face done in by some infected wandering about, it would merely and very slightly help surviving assuming the vaccine worked and everyone got it which is too much of an optimistic view point for a game like this.
FYI Vaccine=/=Cure. Vaccine is viable but honestly just useless 20 years later from the initial outbreak of the infection and Cure is practically impossible due to how the infection simply works.[/sp]
