Finished this yesterday, that ending left me questioning myself ;_; This game is absolutely stellar and to top it off the multiplayer actually had some thought put into it.
How do I add spoiler...'things' because I really want to talk about something!

I hope a clicker eats your carotid artery.
[sp]those fucking notes left by Ish and Kyle were the worst. That was the most depressing part of the game IMO.[/sp]
[editline]17th June 2013[/editline]
Also it took me over 16 hours to complete is that normal
The intro and [sp]Kyle's sacrifice/Ish's camp[/sp] were the top 2 parts of the game that pushed me the closest to crying.
I feel bad that I didn't, though.
It's over...
I don't want this to be over man, and that ending... holy shit Joel ;_;
All I want is multiplayer with cordyceps, naughty dog.
Does everyone get the soundtrack with the retail copy?
I just got done putting it onto my PC and I'm in love with it
I really can't stop thinking about the game after finishing it today. So much happened in the last two seasons.
Ending Stuff:
[sp]Just beat it, and even though Joel lied to Ellie, he was only doing it to protect her and to keep her safe. Y'all have said that he was selfish, but he was merely trying keep her safe, as if it were Sara(h), his own daughter. I really hope there is DLC that expands the story of Joel and Ellie.[/sp]
Considering the ending:
[sp]I don't think that Joel did the wrong thing, but he was a bit selfish. Although I understand that he never got over the fact that he lost his daughter and Ellie came just in time to fill that hole Sarah left behind. I think Ellie was just the thing Joel needed to keep fighting to live another day. Ellie gave him something to life for again and he wasn't letting that slip. Not again.
But on the other hand he might have also doomed the human race for all eternity by taking Ellie away from the fireflys. If they could've manufactured a cure from Ellies infection, he really fucked the human race quite royally.
In the end we don't know whether Ellie was the savior for the human race or not, because we never got that far. All we know that it could've been the cure, or then Ellie would've just been another casualty without any particular significance.
If I was on Joel's shoes, I would've probably done the same.[/sp]
[sp]Really I think people's assumptions that this is a selfish singleminded act brought on by emotional trauma is really selling it short.
letting the Fireflies have Ellie would change nothing, their morality has been eroded by time and they are willing to do anything it takes to resurrect the past even sacrifice a child to save themselves, society would never return to what it once was, no one trusts anyone anymore and they've all been unhinged from the moral fabric that the old world created, if you had a vaccine our society would would still be fucked if you just ripped everyone back out suddenly and expected them to return to a normalcy most of them don't even remember, what you would have is people like Tess, who just up and murders people who stand in her way, so you would go from zombie apocalypse to Mad Max.
Joel simply realized the truth, They aren't worth saving, so better to let them destroy themselves and eachother and start again.
only those that cooperate will survive, and if you cooperate to feed off of others like the hunters, sooner or later the regrowing human society will eliminate you because while the morals of Joel and the other people that you can save are "adjusted" from ours they still know what ain't right and what they ought to do about it. It was [sp]finding the bodies of the children near Kyle that hit me the hardest. [/sp]
OKAY! So, what do people think of
[sp]The switch blade in the title screen affter you finish the game!? its Ellie's right? But its not there untill you complete it, Im just wondering if the view out of the window is of the town Joel and her end up in, like, did it all go to shit there as well? aahh! I dont know :L I want people opinions[/sp]

[sp]I didn't notice this, maybe it's teasing at story DLC?[/sp]
[sp]I feel like a vaccine being available would result in more killing, honestly. I mean people are trying to survive by any means necessary, if someone caught word that the Fireflies or anyone had a cure/vaccine they'd kill to get it for themselves. I mean why do people expect the world to be all like "Oh alright, I guess I'll stop killing you now that there is a vaccine. Sorry bro." if they were to make a vaccine. The infected aren't going to die off because of few people got shots to prevent infection. 20 years took its toll on the human race, everyone is a survivor no vaccine is going to change their mindset.[/sp]

Yes, she even said so :v
Also ive been thinking and as great as it was for a game. I think it would of been handled better as a movie. I mean same storyline and everything but entirely cutscenes and less fighting so it doesent drag out as much.

That's the problem with movies, they have to condense them into a time limit. Video games don't really have to do that so they can drag it out as long as they need to.
[sp]Is Bill gay?[/sp]
[sp]Yep. Naughty Dog was really tasteful with that issue by, quite simply, not really mentioning it. Hell, there was even Frank who Bill referred to as "his partner." Now that could have just meant his friend, but once we saw him there was some pretty devastated acting that felt like the two might have been lovers or it was a one-sided affair from Bill.[/sp]
Maybe I'm looking a bit far into that last part, but that's the vibe I got.

[sp]That is how you are supposed to work these kinds of things into a story, it should be treated as a normal thing that doesn't draw attention to itself.
Far cry from Bioware's pretty shit handling of the subject

[sp]In fairness, that was probably Bioware's only significant fuckup when it comes to LGBT characters; ordinarily they do a superb job with that. Cortez in Mass Effect 3 is still one of the best-written gay characters I've seen and it's owed largely to the fact that the game never made a big deal about it.[/sp]
God damn it, this is the second new game ive bought this year and both ended up falling way short of expectations.
Ive only played 4-5 hours, and havent liked any of it.
The bugs are annoying as fuck (getting stuck in walls, in the beginning when you first get a second weapon my flashlight died the very instant i picked up the gun. The tutorial on how to change guns disappeared, and only the shaking controller to recharge battery showed. My character was frozen, shaking did nothing, i had no idea how to fix it. Luckily my last save thing wasnt far behind.)
Every other character gets in the way (moving a dumpster to climb, theyll always stand in the way.)
Combat isnt good at all. Im playing through on easy, in hopes of relaxing and enjoying the features of the game rather than a challenge. It still takes a clip+ to kill someone when using a pistol, luckily only two with the shotgun.
Great story, Decent gameplay (except for poor combat and the bugs) Fix the bugs and combat issues and itd be pretty amazing. Until then, I really wish i had waited until it was marked down to 40 or so.

Dude what, you had bugs? You must be one unlucky fucker since you got a tutorial on what the fuck the shaking controller did. I had no idea what that did and i got 0 bugs the entire playthrough
[editline]18th June 2013[/editline]
also diffuculty has nothing to do with combat just on supplies. I had to turn down to easyfrom hard for one part and i suddently got fucking ammo for all of my guns when i previously had like 2 bullets for a shotgun

Sounds like you got unlucky with the bugs. As far as the combat goes (and you might be doing this already), it's best to treat this game as a stealth game pretty much the whole way through. Straight-up combat generally won't end well for you.
lets count what was in a shiv room in bills town on survivor
lets see
15 pills
3 rifle ammo
half of a binding
totally worth the whole shiv
Damn 15 pills? All I got was 5 pills, 5 parts, and a bottle.

Ive been treating it mostly as stealth.
As far as the bugs, im not too sure what to make of them. I guess during testing, they never had the flashlight and the gun tutorial thing pop up at the exact same time. I knew shaking was for the flashlight, but shaking did nothing. My character was frozen, waiting for me to change guns, but the shaking icon overroad the gun tutorial and i had no idea how to do it.
My most recent bug was walking threw a boarded up doorway, having my entire character on the otherside, before i hit the collision detection for the boards
The only bug I encountered was when I stepped next to a ladder and it sent me to space.

[sp]his introduction is him crying and it coming out in conversation
"Shepard, I'm sad and I need a hug, but not in a gay way"
it was awkward, and nearly everyone around me that played it hit all stop and tiptoed around the conversation to avoid anything potentially gay from happening.
Bioware is shit at this, they have all the narrative subtly in introducing it as Shakespeare with a Battleaxe.[/sp]
