So they made it pretty clear that at the very last stage of the infection, the infected start growing on the environment. But when [sp]Joel and Tess first encounter spores they come across the source and Tess says something like "this guy's not old", which obviously contradicts that.[/sp] Anyone got an explanation?
I thought when they are dieing (the infected) they die and find somewhere become part of the environment.
I have no idea, the funny part is the dude who sold it to me was trying to sell me disc insurance for a year for £1 and such and I thought "why would my disc get scratched?" and declined, but that was after he tried seven other offers including the season pass/special edition etc trying to get more money out of me
this game owns, just finished it and it was gr8 all the way through, never got bored at all.

A long time
Woo, finally beat the game. Great ending; somehow managed to be both expected and unexpected all at once. [sp]For what it's worth, I think Joel did the right thing. It seems selfish at a glance, but as others have said the *possible* vaccine wouldn't be worth the cost of killing Ellie, especially given they've had no success with other immune patients. Humanity needs to survive according to the rules of this new world, as the old world is gone and even a vaccine wouldn't bring it back. Tommy's Dam always struck me as a great way to 'start anew,' so to leave the game on the hopeful note that Joel and Ellie can have a life there makes the ending not only bittersweet...but arguably even happy.[/sp]
The wiki says Ellie's most unique ability is [sp]immune from the infection[/sp]. So I don't think there are others like her.

1. Spoiler tag that. [sp] tags
2. [sp]It's implied through recordings in the hospital that Ellie was NOT the only patient that they had tried to get a cure from. Hell, early in the game it was said that they tried to create a vaccine and failed entirely.[/sp]

Interesting. Gotta go watch the entire thing again.
Finished my run yesterday, game was worth its price.
Now to find some idle time and try out mp.
I might have to watch the rest of this game in a let's play (11hours onwards) because my fucking disc is scratched to all hell and it barely loads, when it does the dude just stands there in a T-pose ..
It's not fucking funny Nayr do you understand the pain I feel right now!
Since you're in the UK grab your receipt and take it to the store you got it from, they're obliged to give a refund/replacement.
Well, I finished the game last night. It was (at least for me) the best game I've ever played.
[sp]I've seen some articles complaining about the lack of choice and varied gameplay in The Last of Us. Did people somehow manage to miss the entire Joel and Ellie relationship? Not even counting the stuff you guys have said about the vaccine not being a cure, it would be pants-on-head retarded for Joel to have given up and resigned Ellie to the Fireflies.[/sp]
If you guys are doing multiplayer grouping add me so we can do survivors. Supply raid is too much COD:BLOPS where I literally spawned next to the enemy several times.
Jedibound is my PSN
I'll hit you up on that if you don't mind using skype or teamspeak to communicate, as I never bothered to buy a ps3 headset for the past 7 years. I'll send you a request shortly, PSN name is zombiemasher1

Even in the US they'll replace it.
Holy shit you get so much more supply in survivors. Just got 120 supply in a single match.
Anyone want to group up for multiplayer?

Lovely, one match into Last of Us and I'm being tea bagged. Two matches in and I've been called every insult possible.
just realised again by watching a video that there was a flamethrower in this game, haha. I remember picking it up at the university but never used it.

It's actually OP as fuck. Can take out an entire group of enemies in a few seconds.
Is there any word on a sequel? I need more! It's the only game I have ever been upset at it being over.
Is there any word on a sequel? I need more! It's the only game I have ever been upset at it being over.
Am I the only one who doesn't want a sequel? It feels wrong.
Am I the only one who doesn't want a sequel? It feels wrong.
I agree. I mean, there were only 3 kinds of puzzles and 5 types of enemies. (4 stages of cordyceps, 1 humans who want to kill you). I don't see an entirely new game using the same concepts, but it's not like they could do a L4D2 and just add more infected and maps, then release it expecting the same amount of intensity and hype.
The Last of Us lived to it's expectations, and Joel & Ellie's story is over.
Am I the only one who doesn't want a sequel? It feels wrong.
[sp]I wouldn't mind a sequel in the same world, but I don't think it has to have Joel and Ellie as the focus. They could possibly be ancillary characters that you run across, but their story is done and the ending of the game gives you just enough to go on. I wouldn't mind (hell, I would invite) an upcoming DLC pack to expand upon the story told in this particular game though.
Spoilered just in case people don't want to know that both characters survive the game.[/sp]
Am I the only one who doesn't want a sequel? It feels wrong.
Well there won't be one [sp]featuring Joel and Ellie[/sp] as stated by Naughty Dog.

Holy god that was amazing.
This is now in my top 5.
For some reason it bothers me that I decided to [sp]beat the surgeons to death.[/sp]
For some reason it bothers me that I decided to [sp]beat the surgeons to death.[/sp]
[sp]I only killed the first one that pulled a scalpel on me, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to kill the other two. In pretty much every game I've ever played (where I had a choice), I would choose the needs of many over the needs of the few...not here. Ellie was the priority, and her dying for the CHANCE of creating merely a vaccine in a world that has so clearly gone to hell just wasn't worth it. And honestly, after all we went through...there's no way that society could recover to the way it was and after seeing the animal savagery that everyone, including Joel and Ellie, were required to partake in to survive, I'm not sure if we deserved it. We would either learn to survive in this dangerous new world, or our species would go extinct. Harsh...but it seems right.
I dunno, maybe this game just awoke the father in me that I didn't even know was there.[/sp]
