I was not okay with how that final level plays out.
End-game spoiler
[sp]I disagree with his decision based on the possible repercussions but I whole-heartedly agree with Joel's decision purely from his point of view... It truly was a fantastic way to end it, no better way to sum-up their relationship then him doing something like that[/sp]

[sp]It's kind of interesting ending the game on an (arguably) morally incorrect decision that also manages to be the "correct" decision, isn't it? Really makes you think. Then again, traditional morals have almost entirely gone out the window in The Last of Us' world, and Joel has a very different perspective than we do, which is great.[/sp]
I was so happy and pissed off at the same time :v:

[sp]I was a mix between "what the fuck man" and "oh thank god you didn't kill Ellie"[/sp]
Near the end of winter spoilers
[sp]Does anyone think its creepy, that David managed to get elected as Mayor, considering he was pretty much a confirmed pedophile? You think they some of them would be going "wait what?"[/sp]
Well since the townsfolk [sp] were fucking cannibals, I doubt they were of much moral standing to complain about a pedophile lol [/sp]
I just finished this a few minutes ago, goddamn this game deserves every 10/10 it receives.
I've never been so confused about whether the protagonist is actually [sp]the good guy, or the bad guy.[/sp] Good Game
[sp]What settled the fact that I was playing as the good guy, for me, was that Marlene begged for her life after being shot by Joel. Ready to kill the little girl, but not ready to die herself. Bitch.[/sp]

Talking about the gameplay or the story?
Talking about the gameplay or the story?
I wasn't super impressed with the last minutes of gameplay either, myself.
What's the purpose of the + variants of all the difficulties?
More end-game 'ish' spoilers
[sp]Honestly, I am so happy they dropped those small hints about other 'immune' people, it made Joel's decision a lot easier to deal with[/sp]
What's the purpose of the + variants of all the difficulties?
Pretty sure that's for new game+
Talking about the gameplay or the story?
Both. [Sp]Suddenly throwing you into a shitty maze of identical looking rooms, with a mediocre assault rifle as your main weapon, killing people that I didn't want to. When I reached the surgery room, and you're made to kill the surgeon, I actually sat there and tried to leave. I didn't want to make Joel into this more monstrous entity than he was before. 'Anything to survive', right. [/sp]

Mind if I ask why not? Gameplay seemed the same in the end as it had been pretty much the entire game.
I wish more of FP could play this game. It's just so good. Too bad most of us don't own PS3s. Hell, even I don't own one.
I borrowed my friend's PS3 just for this occasion. Two of my friends and I actually split the price to pay for the game during the midnight launch. My friend let me borrow his PS3, including all three of his Uncharted games (great games btw, and TLOU had a very tiny hint of Unchartedness). And he was nice enough to let me be the first one to play TLOU.
This is also the first time I've ever used a PS3, let alone play any of its games. I'm sure as hell gonna get one when I have the money. Might even consider getting a PS4 if it has enough good exclusives.
Also, headphones are a must. Holy shit, fucking use headphones. It's so goddamn intense. I had to use my super cheap and shitty PC headphones because none of my friends had PS3 headphones that I could borrow. Still does the job amazingly well.
Because of Last Of Us I've been pushed into the PS4 camp for now.
Just so in the future I can get future Naughty Dog titles. I don't use my PS3 much but man Last of Us is the shit.

Zombies and not only.

[sp]I took out my revolver and executed them all one by one, watched them slump to the ground then saved Ellie. Fuck them.[/sp]
I really wish my internet wasn't shitting the bed over the last couple of days, so unstable that makes multiplayer unplayable.
Even days after finishing it, i still cant stop thinking about the ending.
[sp]I didn't find the tapes about other immunes, I seriously just shot everyone and ran straight for Ellie, so Joel's decision seemed wrong to me, but if they tried and failed before i completely agree with what he did[/sp]
And Marlene, [sp]You could tell after you shot her that she didn't care at all about Ellie, she just wanted the vaccine so she could keep it for the fireflies, and let the rest of the world rot[/sp]
[sp]I took out my revolver and executed them all one by one, watched them slump to the ground then saved Ellie. Fuck them.[/sp]
[sp]Anyone who is willing to kill a young woman and has the fucking audacity to call me a monster doesn't get to leave the room. You want a monster, I'll be your fucking monster.[/sp]
[sp]I was a mix between "what the fuck man" and "oh thank god you didn't kill Ellie"[/sp]
I think most people thought that, and that's what makes the ending so awesome.
[sp]Personally I agreed with everything Joel did. I'm not going to let a girl get killed without her consent, especially not after I spent a fucking year protecting and working with her. Even after I wouldn't accept it, you shouldn't take advantage of survivor's guilt to further your own ideals.[/sp]
Wait [sp]There are other immunes? See, that makes a bit more sense to me now. Because otherwise, it seemed like Joel went on a murderous rampage really selfishly and would have ruined humanity's chance at survival.[/sp]

[sp]I think someone mentioned a few pages back that the Fireflies apparently had already tried to experiment on other immunes to create a Vaccine and failed..[/sp]
Okay I don't think the Fireflies are evil, I don't know why everybody seems to think that. They have the right idea, but they're very misguided. There's nothing wrong with them wanting a cure, it's just something to give them hope.
Reading this thread, this game really does bring out the best and the worst in people: Fatherly instincts, love, hatred, a want and even a lust for revenge.
I've heard complaints about controls, cutscenes, repetitive mechanics, and things in between, but what no one can argue with is that this game certainly is something really fucking special.

No other game has ever given me a sort of "protective instinct feeling," where Ellie will be getting grabbed or hit or something and I'll drop what I'm doing and leave cover to brutalize whatever just had a hold of her.
