Ultimate Survival Skills Time: I'm at the part where [sp]the hunters made the car crash into the store,[/sp] on Survivor, and the only thing I have is 5 arrows because Bill was being a useless piece of shit all day and wouldn't kill any infected.
Anyone want to play some multiplayer today/tomorrow? I don't have any PSN friends so I have been playing alone.
I might be up for it this weekend. CaptainJL761 on PSN.
Got stuck on an infinite loading screen in multiplayer. Then it booted me out, and still counted it as a day so most of my survivors are sick and hungry again.
This game hates me.
Just got through [sp]the hotel basement[/sp] on Survivor with no ammo. Think I almost had a heart attack. [sp]Joel sure took his sweet-ass time sliding that card through the electronic lock.[/sp]
[sp]I think the ending is better without the justifications for Joel's actions. It's something he had to do based on his love for Ellie, just like a split-second decision, and when he confirmed that he was telling the truth at the end of the game it shows that he believes he made the right decision, no matter what could have been.[/sp]
Split second my ass, that area took me about an hour to complete (the Assault Rifle makes you cocky and gets you killed fast in Survivor). Glad the [sp]surgeons[/sp] were taking their sweet old time. I think some kind of timer (represented by Joel just saying he needs to hurry or whatever) should of being used, there's a sense of urgency in the plot but not in the gameplay -- you can take as long as you damn well please.

Yeah, but what would happen if you ran out of time? You had to restart the whole section? That just would've been cruel.
I was also wondering why the [sp]surgeons were still getting ready for surgery, despite, ynno, the thousands of gunshots and everyone dying just down the hall. I thought they would've at least MOVED Ellie to a storage closet or something, not just ignore the crazy guy coming after you.[/sp]

I'm definitely noticing the [sp]giraffe[/sp] motif this time around. [sp]There's giraffe pictures in kid's rooms, there's giraffe stuffed animals in the toy shop. Someone earlier said there was a giraffe poster or something in Sarah's room at the beginning but I forgot to look for it.[/sp]
Ugh god, I'm having so much trouble stealth killing the infected in that tilted building on Survivor difficulty. It seems like no matter how slow I go, flashlight on or off, the runners always turn around and attack before I can grab them.
Okay so apparently the infected can see through cover. I tested it in four different covers and they could all see through them. Guess my game is glitched or something? Haven't other people had trouble with cover or am I just borked?
Let's say, by default they're walking around in 'Normal' stance.
When you're getting near them, they might stop and start to growl, even when they don't see you, it's like they just feel you're nearby, and in somewhat 'Cautious' stance, after they do that they go back to 'Normal' and that's when it's time to attack.

No they were just standing there, fine, and I'd sneak up and it'd just flip around. Even the one, for example, that's just standing in a corner looking away. I restarted the game and it worked fine. Just for some reason all of the Infected turned hyper-aware.
I just want to make sure of something, [sp]at the part right before fall where you have to snipe the bandits protecting your "group" and then the clickers and stuff come out of nowhere.[/sp]
[sp]Then the other kid with you and his brother get attacked by them and need help, I helped the older brother first and then the kid got up by himself, getting bit.[/sp]
[sp]Did I cause that? If you shoot the other one first does that mean the kid is safe?[/sp]
I just feel super guilty after that.
Keep in mind I just started fall.

[sp]No, he'll be scratched by the infected regardless[/sp]

Oh thank you, I almost truly believed it was my fault.

Maybe I thought about common infected, not the runners which you encounter [sp]while going with Sam for example[/sp], because I never tried to stealth the latter ones, seemed too difficult.

i tried to stealth that section, but it was almost impossible
i was only able to stealth maybe 3 or 4 of them before the rest of them ganged up on me

Yeah, I [sp]helped the kid[/sp] and it still went bad.
Finally got past the Sniper street, I am now at 69% with 10 hours played. Only just got to fall.
How is the multiplayer for this, i've yet to get round to it as i'm still doing the story?

If you've played Uncharted multiplayer it's alot like that. It's not bad but it's not great either IMO. You have the basic things from singleplayer like crafting, upgrading, finding materials (for the crafting) and the rest of the gameplay mechanics.
In MP there's also more weapons than in singleplayer, you can use the M4, Burst rifle & a semi auto rifle (A ruger).
So far there is two gamemodes, team deathmatch (20 lives per team) & Survivor (Which is a lot like the classic CS gamemode with no respawns).
Overall It's worth playing some of it.
I'd be up got joining you for some multiplayer.
I'm kind of new to the ps3 so I don't really have many people to play it with.
my psn is the same as my name here "PopSkimo"

I might be up for it this weekend. CaptainJL761 on PSN.
Added you both on PSN.
Wow, this time around I didn't have any trouble with the sniper. Instead of trying to move up the street itself, I just ducked in the house on the left and worked up that direction, and it was much easier.
I like the multiplayer in this, although it can be a bit buggy sometimes.
Some guy on my team was being executed and another one of my team mates ran in to attack the guy, they both had upgraded melee weapons and my team mate hit the guy that was doing the execution but he didn't get downed and he just finished the execute and instantly downed the other guy meleeing him, was quite funny.
It feels satisfying as hell executing someone as well.

Yeah it is buggy sometimes. So me and my teammate were going after this guy and we had him cornered. He throws a smoke bomb stunning us both, then he does the animation with the upgraded melee weapon to kill me but then he cancels it, he then shivs my friend but for some reason I am still alive. So as he keeps doing the shiv animation I just beat his ass with me fist and then he dies. I have never been so lucky.
One time me and one of my teammates threw a Molotov and a nail bomb at a hunter at the same time and his rag doll started contorting in weird as fuck shapes. He then proceeded to shoot up into the sky. It was the best thing I have ever seen.

I had something similar, killed a random infected and a clicker, then a couple of seconds after them dieing they shot across the floor and it had a really loud thud noise

But Zoey is max 20 years old. Rantrantrant.
I have a question about the ending: [sp]When Ellie was looking at her bite, did it look more serious to anyone else? I'm probably going to replay it, but it seemed like there were more blisters around it.[/sp]
Also about [sp]Pittsburg. One of the guys jumps out saying that 76 guys were dead. I know for a fact I probably killed 15 - 20 at most, and I doubt Sam and Henry killed that many people. Who made up the difference? Is it the remaining soldiers? Marlene's group? Some other survivors?[/sp]

[sp]A lot of people were saying that about Ellie's infection.. but personally I thought it was the same, she probably would have said something then, or the surgeons would have noticed it got worse maybe.[/sp]
Well, I finally finished it. The praise that calls this the best game of this console generation is not unfounded. IMO it's in my top 5 of this entire generation, easy. This experience will stick with me for a long time.

I thought the exact same thing at first, a few pages back. It was probably just the lighting or something, if they wanted it [sp]to be noticed, they would've made it a lot more obvious, or maybe mentioned it in-game. It's way too discreet and quick to simply be lampshading it either. Besides, there's no reason her bite would just suddenly get worse unless it had to do with her being knocked unconscious. Her bite stayed the same for at least the previous 9 months.
What I'm wondering is how Joel got her clothes and backpack back. Did he take the time to find a storage locker and carry all the stuff with him? He wasn't carrying anything except Ellie when he shot Marlene, and I'd guess that he'd wanna get the hell out ASAP after doing that.[/sp]
[editline]June 30th, 2013[/editline]
Where was that comparison picture of when [sp]Ellie first showed her bite to Joel and Tess, and when she was looking at it at the ending?[/sp]
