I personally find the revolver and semi-auto rifle to work well together. Along with reviver 2, explosion expert 2 and collector 2.
Hunting Rifle is the best weapon in my opinion. Two hits to kill someone, Head shots are a one hit and if you're fast enough you can mark people pretty easily. Plus I'm medic most of my games. That means Revives and First Aid Training at it's finest.
[sp]They said they would have to do that to try and make it into a vaccine. If they did that, then there would be nothing making her immune, so she would be infected.[/sp]
[sp]There weren't removing the cordycep growth, they were removing her BRAIN.[/sp]
[sp]There weren't removing the cordycep growth, they were removing her BRAIN.[/sp]
I don't know man.. quite a lot of people can live without a[sp]brain. I mean, over half the population sure seem brain dead.[/sp] :v:
Just finished it. [sp]Even though he's kind of a bad guy, I cheered all the way for Joel throughout the ending. I didn't want the Fireflies to take Ellie, I just wanted her and Joel living their life with the other guys in that one town after going through hell and back together. Joel just deserved it after all, despite his actions. The last scene left me in a pretty sad mood though. Well, back to stab people in the MP.[/sp] I'm sad. By the way, what's planned for DLC content? It's 4am here, so I won't read through all pages right now
To the above poster:
The first DLC pack, which marks the developer's debut making post-launch single-player content, will arrive once the game is on sale and will focus on story. “The journey and cast of characters in The Last of Us lends itself to thorough narrative exploration, and we’ve got more of the story to tell,” said Naughty Dog community strategist, Eric Monacelli. The two remaining packs will each add additional multiplayer maps and other unspecified "expansions". While multiplayer for the game was confirmed late last year, and the developer has said it is the "best ever conceived", no specifics have been detailed. Monacelli said that the developer would reveal the information about the mode in the coming days.
Source
Potentially minor narrative structure spoilers below? There's nothing relating to the plot or events of the story, just in the methods of how the story is told. Still, I'll tag it just to be safe. The cool thing about single player DLC for this game is how easily it could be incorporated. Given the narrative of this game, [sp]where each passing season focuses on a defining event of Joel and Ellie's journey, there are big gaps in the timeline that we aren't shown in the main game. DLC could pretty easily insert itself into those gaps, giving us a more complete picture of the story.[/sp]
Goddamn, I just played a match and my entire team refused to stick together and sprinted in one by one against a team that stuck together. Half of my clan is dead now :v:. Playing without at least one player you know to be reliable kind of sucks most of the time.
Looking for people to play with online sometime. I have a mic. :v:
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
Well uh, he is an actor you know. But yeah, his performance was great and I was surprised too.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
I never realised Penguin in Arkham City was Nolan North till after I finished it.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
North is a real voice acrobat, he can pull off anything.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
He was also the one dude Joel [sp]interrogated and made point out where Ellie was being kept by the bandits during winter[/sp]
Yeah I dunno, it fell short for me. I did really enjoy it during the actual GAMEPLAY, but half of the game was just filler gameplay: "oh look at the graphics as you carry around ladders and push rafts, oh super realistic platforming." The dialogue was really good but the story was just a generic mish-mash of pseudo plot-twists. Sure the game was engaging but I would've rather just watched a movie. I'll enjoy revisiting it to 100% it, though.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
Nolan North is a fantastic voice actor. I get incredibly frustrated when I play a game that has him use his regular voice, it pulls me out of the experience. I mean he's played a wide range of unique characters, look at the Penguin from Arkham City, Steven Heck from Alpha Protocol, the Adventure Core, Space Core [i/]and the defective turrets from Portal 2. Dude has crazy talent and half his roles can be summed up as "Yeah, everyone knows your regular voice, just do that." Also, He voiced Callus in The Last of Us, which is pretty funny.
Well, I appreciated the sections inbetween where you just sorta explored. What would you have liked? Instantly going from stealth to action sequences, a little cutscene inbetween, repeat? Part of the experience for me was learning about this broken world, what happened to its inhabitants and witnessing nature retaking the planet without humans interfering. Those slower parts made that possible and I really liked them. [editline]3rd July 2013[/editline] What the fuck, Nolan voiced Callus?!
how do you voice a horse
He was also the one dude Joel [sp]interrogated and made point out where Ellie was being kept by the bandits during winter[/sp]
[sp]Oh god that knife into that knee(was it in knee right?)[/sp]

It's a platformer with great writing, beautiful visuals, and lots of spooky monsters, but at heart it is still a platformer like any other. If platformers aren't your type of game, then the gameplay in the Last of Us may not appeal to you as much. I disagree 100% about the "mish-mashy" plot, though. The Last of Us had some of the best writing I've seen in years, from a video game or a movie. Furthermore, there weren't really any twists, cliche or otherwise. There is no I was Bradd Pitt the whole time! moment in the Last of Us.

Its probably the best multiplayer I've played this year but your pretty much fucked if you don't stick together. And on a side note, I hate people who just rush, I got rushed so many times yesterday I couldn't do shit, even with covert its like they knew exactly where I was.

By the time I was 30% through the game, I felt the rest of the gameplay progressing, but the platforming remained mindless nothing: pick up plank, move plank, cross plank. Pick up ladder, move ladder, climb ladder. Naughty Dog has made some fantastic platformers, but this was not among them. On the other hand, the dialogue and atmosphere was good enough to keep me distracted from the dull gameplay during these parts. It's very possible that this was an intentional part of the design, and that I was intended to be focused on the atmosphere. It was immersive. But damn, I just didn't have much fun climbing ladders. You're right, though, I take back the criticism of the story. It was definitely a huge step forward in narrative. David's character was especially uncanny and well-written. I don't say any of this to shit on a good game. It's definitely a good game, but I think it's important to see the flaws in good things. Most people seem to be riding the hype, praising without question, and that results in sequels that are lazily made. The Last of Us deserves a good sequel.
Well, The Last of Us is a platformer.
What? Platformer for me sounds like there must be, for example, lots of jumps and things like that, but you can't even do the basic jump when you stand on the ground, you can only get over small gaps.
Jesus, I just looked at the voice credits and saw that David was Nolan North. I had no clue, he was hiding it well.
Huh, out of all the people, I would have sworn that Bill was. Especially since he's paranoid old Drake.
Just got to the part were Ellie gets [sp]taken by that Dave guy, well just finished it where she kills him, wow my feels when Joel got there for her[/sp]
Just got to the part were Ellie gets [sp]taken by that Dave guy, well just finished it where she kills him, wow my feels when Joel got there for her[/sp]
That was the feeliest part of the game

[sp]So were there some recordings or something from the hospital that said they've used immune folk before? Because the Let's Play I watched was really bad in terms of finding collectibles and I just thought it was Joel lying because he cared more for Ellie than for the hope of a cure.[/sp]

It existed more as a way of making you explore all the various nooks and crannies of the beautifully crafted world rather than to give you a real challenge. That aspect of the game was never very exciting, but neither did I ever find it especially tedious, save for maybe one or two short segments. The stealth and combat mechanics were what I really enjoyed. Basically, a game in which you actually have to explore and think a bit in order to get to your goal.
