A vaccine would be hard to mass produce and distribute in that broken world. I also feel that the Fireflies would only really use the vaccine to protect themselves and further their agenda.[/sp]

She is just lucky that it hasn't actually caused any noticeable damage. Infecting everyone with a version that just happens to not outright kill you, but would almost certainly ultimately have pretty grave consequences, seems like a terrible plan. What is the point of keeping everyone from being killed by zombies if the solution kills you through extreme irritable bowl syndrome or some other bullshit because you have a fungus in your brain. [/sp]
I just played a round of MP together with only two Russian girls with mics in my team. Damn it was hilarious. They were basically just shouting profanities (I think) during the whole round and ended the whole thing with a burping contest.

[/sp]
[sp]I don't think the plan was to infect everyone with a dormant pathogen like with Ellie, but rather introduce it in a classical vaccine sense, as in the infection is 'disarmed' (like a toxoid) so the body would be able produce some kind of immune response to it and combat it better to some degree because of the vaccine. Then again, I haven't heard all the recordings, so maybe they did intend to infect everyone with the dormant type Ellie has, but from a biological standpoint that doesn't make much sense.[/sp]

Then again you could argue Pittsburgh is full of veritable assholes[/sp]

[sp]Joel's rage kinda fueled my own I guess - they just deserved to die in my eyes[/sp] :v:
[sp]My reasoning was: well, maybe they will find a cure at some point - but not with Ellie. I mean, there have to be people with the same immunity as her who are willing to sacrifice themselves. Also, I didn't find whatever voice recorder said that they've already tested people, so I thought that Joel was lying :v: Its neat that what you find around the world can affect your perception of the ending as well.[/sp]

Is this game good or overhyped?
Is this game good or overhyped?
It's definitely not the best game out there, one of the biggest parts of the game, the stealth movement is kind of awkward because when you try to sneak past enemies, your follow almost always runs straight past the enemy, just always setting you on edge. However, the story and gameplay still hold up very well and same of the multiplayer, not many stock maps and not many gamemodes but it's fun. Overall, it's good, just don't expect it to perfect.
Is this game good or overhyped?
It really depends on what you're looking for in a game and how much you value the different parts of one.
Really depends on what you like, I think it's excellent in about every way. Been hooked for a whole week now, haven't left the house once. Help me Facepunch, I'm becoming a basement dweller
having completed this game yesterday (it was a 20 hour intense play through; took me a week) I still can't stop thinking about this. I have read this entire thread and still can't get enough of this game. I simply can't wait for DLC to see if they expand the story. I'm going on to multiplayer, and hopefully starting new game plus.
What is the +mode thing?
What is the +mode thing?
it lets you start the campaign over with all your weapons and upgrades (both gun upgrades and player skills) I'm assuming.
ss1234, you seem to be in the same situation as me. Could I add you for some MP in the future?
You guys can add me too, i'd love to play some MP though I don't have a mic for PS3 as I have no idea what works or even how to work it haha, my name is LiquidOcelot63
Ending spoilers ahead! I thought of the possibility of [sp]Ellie being able to see through Joel's lie, and the facial expression she has at the end is a look of actually bittersweet thank you to Joel as well as the emotion of the entire game's events. She question's Joel's words. If they had found other immune (which is implied if you listened to those recorders).[/sp] [sp]Ellie must be asking herself, why did I still wake up unconscious in the car while in surgery clothing despite there being no reason for my surgery? Don't forget that she had drowned before the fireflies were able to resuscitate her. Who is to say that they didn't just revive her, and immediately put her under anesthesia? I believe this is why she confronts Joel because she has a hunch that Joel took her back from the fireflies, and that it wasn't just easy transaction but one that required force.[/sp] [sp]We all know Ellie is smart. Firstly, Ellie telling Joel about her friends dying and that she "is still waiting" for her turn shows that she was ready for that fate. She wanted Joel to know about her survivor's guilt on purpose. I think she could be testing Joel to see what kind of story he would tell. There are two options here for Joel. One would be where Joel tells the truth, and further worsens Ellie's survivor's guilt about her friends and how everything they worked for was a waste. This would only be a temporary frustration. The second option is Joel lying, and I think that is what Ellie wanted.[/sp] [sp]If Ellie believes Joel took her back by force (re-read the second spoiler tag), then she would very much appreciate a lie from Joel. Joel lying tells Ellie that she is like a daughter to him, and that she is more important than anything. Joel lying prevents Ellie from feeling really bad with survivor's guilt. Ellie's final facial expression is one of a happy realization, a realization that Joel has more heart instead of an agenda which is what Ellie wanted out of him throughout the entire game.[/sp]
So, do you get some notification that you have a party in MP or do you need to host a private match for that to work?
So, do you get some notification that you have a party in MP or do you need to host a private match for that to work?
Sorry I didn't join, didn't realize I had an invite as I was eating and browsing here, so was on a different screen.
I'll invite you next round, the match just begun We won the last one, ss1234 and me (and 2 blumbering other Germans)
I'll probably be absolutely crap at the game so forgive me on that part :P...
You'll manage, trust me :v:
Add me guys, would be nice to play with some europeans so there's no lag.
Added you, I'll invite you once you accept. What tactics do you guys use in MP?
I don't really have any, i'll just follow you guys where ever haha.
The last match I played we were drastically out matched, it looked like the other team had great stock to their aid. Man, we got wooped badly. and wow mp is crazy intense. One bad move, and your face get's fucked. You really have to plan, and as a group attack otherwise it because a shit storm if your enemies have greater weapons. [editline]4th July 2013[/editline] also, ray are you in the states? I'm assuming the germans you're talking about is through local matchmaking [editline]4th July 2013[/editline] I just need to get an upgraded inventory. The burst gun simply does not cut it for me, and while I like using the sniper it doesn't have the clip size I want, and my pistols are so slow! I wish matchmaking considered what player have unlocked so you don't pit new players against those with inventories of a militia lol
Yeah, that match sucked. Happens from time to time, they had two guys on 25 or something, I try to avoid high leveled players mostly. Also guys, you can be heard sneaking by everyone if you don't have atleast Covert Training 2 as a skill (You need to unlock it or use the stealth class) So in combat situations, better don't stick with me, I'm trying to stealthily stab them in the back :v: So what's up, done already?
