It's not even a conversion, this was MADE by Toby himself. He worked on Earthbound hacks before he did Undertale.

That's the first version of the song to ever exist, for an Earthbound hack that Toby did before his music in Homestuck or the project of Undertale was even a concept probably
I remember when I was playing this game for the first time, I was like "Man Toby Fox sounds super familiar" but didn't put together who he was until I bought the soundtrack and saw Megalovania on it.
As much as I love the other two versions of it, his take on it in Undertale's soundtrack is my favorite.

Undertale [B]is[/B] his Magnum Opus (If that's the right term). I wouldn't be surprised if he spent a long time getting his favourite song converted to the style of the game.
Also I didn't know this until a few months ago, but Toby did a number of songs for an Earthbound fan album called I Miss You - Earthbound 2012, which is where Fallen Down first appeared.

[sp]I've seen people pull up the theory that the Locket in the geno run is Charas and that the Locket in Pacifist run is Asriels, but I think that's incorrect, I believe that the locket is Chara's in both runs and it's just the perspective that changes, because in the Asriel boss fight you can clearly see Asriel has a locket around his neck[/sp]

Kids are adventurous little dumbasses. When I was like, 8 or something I wandered off into the woods near camp without telling anyone just because I felt like it, and just explored for a couple hours. I made it back by myself fine, but at no point did I even consider how bad of an idea that was.
I like to think Frisk's scenario was a similar one, just with more hole-falling
A HUGE amount of inspiration hit me, and I thought to myself that no one really touched on the war between humans and monsters. I thought that Heartache would make a good theme for the war.
Please keep in mind that I have NEVER composed an orchestral piece in my life but I just had to make it though. I love this theme.

I dunno if numbers would really be completely necessary, considering all it takes is one asshole kid to kill everyone in the underground. I mean it's outright said it wasn't really a war at all, it was a massacre where not a single human soul was taken. It was more likely less of a war and more of a
