I think it may be a reference to a homestuck meme where Baby Dave is latched onto random objects/people
I could be wrong, but the pose is just about the same
To be completely fair, Undertale's first glimpse into reality was on an Earthbound fansite from a designer who got his proverbial programmer's feet wet by making ROM hacks for Earthbound (and RPG maker projects).
In case you want to see that first glimpse for yourself. Par for the course, Toby posted it in a manner that mocks a notoriously subpar user's thread.
Toby also posted his very first screenshots of his game here, along with the Enemy Approaching music, AND pictures of Flowey and Frisk.

I wanted to try out a new style, so I drew Red from that fangame, thoughts?

Red doesn't have any colour so I improvised. (Also, if the lines look wobble or bobbly, it’s supposed to! that’s what the brush does!)
Sweet jesus this [sp]secret lab[/sp] is pretty spooky and the monsters in there are hella creepy too.

the music is so good though
Give me 1000 clocks because I only now realized that [sp] Asriel wears the same heart shaped locket that Chara does when you fight him in he's god form [/sp]
I went trough the fight twice and only now I saw it.
Is :dogwow: taken from SA or is it original?
original. Cirrulean remade it with feedback from me. Eyes and face are different.

[sp]Asriel loved his brother/sister, and I'm sure they loved Asriel back in a way...[/sp]

[sp]I don't know why you're always so dead-set on the first human being a good person when the game provides more than enough evidence to show that they were a manipulative, murderous little shitdemon. they would do anything to get the dumb goat kid to go along with the plan and escape with god powers[/sp]

[sp]Theories and the open endedness of the game lets me[/sp]
Got my sis to finally try Undertale and she freakin' loves it. She can't stop humming Papyrus's theme.
But holy hell, does she suck at bullet hell. She was dying to The Dog couple and greater dog a lot and almost "died" on Papyrus and then resigned control to me.
She was on 1 hp and I flawless'd his final attack. The buttsweat was real, cause I didn't want those 3 healing items she used to go in vain.
man I watched Vinesauce Joel complete Genocide Run and oh my god [sp]not only it hurts seeings all these characters die but I'd literally shoot myself on Sans battle, I would NOT be able to complete it. Joel spent at least 30 minutes doing it, I'd spend even more.[/sp]
Damn what a boss fight and what an ending to the true pacifist run. What an amazing game to sum up.
Now since it's really hard for me to be a cunt to fictional characters and I'm too much of a pussy to kill everyone I guess Ill watch genocidal playthroughs on youtube.
just do it yourself why wouldn't you play a significant portion of the videogame you bought with money. it's the only actual challenging thing the game has to offer and arguably contains some more interesting plot details so why not take it
I think my money paid off tbh, and I don't always enjoy challenges. Now I have a more advanced grasp of the lore too, so I can look what I'm missing online.
it's really hard for me to be a cunt to fictional characters and I'm too much of a pussy
This too.
Also my brother wants to play the game and I've heard that the post-genocide-corruption file is cloud saved so I don't want to ruin his playtrough. Maybe I'll think about it when he completes it.

We know who you are, [sp] Chara. [/sp] :dogcited:
Are monsters souls upsidedown or is that just perspective?

Because the game deliberately tries to make you feel like a piece of shit if you do and people don't like feeling like pieces of shit?

Because a major point of the game is [sp]just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should[/sp]
And if people get their money's worth and have a satisfying experience out of it without doing it, who are you to tell them they're wrong?

You should've bitten the dust so she could've seen what Papyrus does when he defeats you. I'm sure she'd feel a lot better about it if she knew [sp]he just captures you and puts you in the shed behind some bars that are too wide to stop anyone from walking right out[/sp]
Because a major point of the game is [sp]just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should[/sp]
but you're not supposed to realize that point until you've basically completed the route yourself
basically this post from last week
Late reply but unlike popular opinion I think the genocide route was probably the best decision I ever made in this game.
Not only did I get to experience the game from the POV of the big bad villain that is in almost every RPG. I got to see the characters in a way I would never have imagined before if I just went pacifist every time. There's a old saying that people in times of crisis often show their true colors. And that's exactly what the game does to the characters when you decide to be the villain rather than the hero. I know I myself learned to appreciate WAY more Sans, Papyrus and Undyne's character by going the evil way.
I encourage anyone to try it at least once doing a genocide run. Is quite the experience and you learn a lot of cool shit about the characters.
all of that being far less impactful if you're just watching some chump on youtube do it instead
but you're not supposed to realize that point until you've basically completed the route yourself
[sp]Asriel literally begs you not to reset everyone's happy ending[/sp] at the end of the pacifist run. [sp]The game makes it very clear that doing it is WRONG.[/sp]
And I'm not going to deny that it offers a great look at everything and everyone in the game. It does and I loved it. But I think the idea that a genocide run is almost mandatory just goes against the very idea of the game. If someone doesn't want to do it and doesn't, then they're playing the game right. It's a decision that's just as much part of the game's story as any other and there's no wrong answer.
I regret nothing

well I think it's a shame that people let "meta roleplaying" ("I got the happy ending how could I reset that weh so sad ;-;") get in the way of experiencing some good plot, backstory, and some damn good boss fights for themselves

I think it's a shame people can't be allowed to enjoy a work of art for what it is, and derive their own meanings from it, instead of being told 'ur a pusy lol its just a game get ur 10 dollars worth'
guess we'll have to agree to disagree then friendo
