Ok stop right there. Can we please quit acting like there aren't amazing stories in games, hell many of the better ones are games that don't have large amounts of development spent on graphics and physics. We've had great stories since the 90s with games like Fallout and Planescape: Torment. Playing videogames isn't yet as culturally normal as watching movies or reading books but back when those came out they probably weren't either. Like it was stated earlier, games allow a hell of a lot more power in shaping the narrative since you have the gameplay as another means of expression for example the [sp]Omega Flowey[/sp] fight.

[sp]Frisk is the protagonist, but YOU as a person are the one who's really in control of their actions. Something to keep in mind is that the pacifist and genocide routes aren't exactly the same game in a sense, so whereas Chara in the pacifist route was just the fallen human, Chara in the genocide route is an expression of your curiosity and tenacity while also somehow being the fallen human.[/sp]

What I got from this is [sp]You are Frisk. Chara just finds a way to manifest themselves into Frisk from Chara's soul lingering around where you land in the underground. In a pacifist run, you don't kill to get Chara to really awaken, thus why you gotta Genocide run to even know what Chara is. A hint that you are not Chara unless it's a genocide run, check the mirror in the Ruins house. Non genocide it'll say 'It's You!' And then in Genocide, 'It's me, Chara.' As they were able to take over and control Frisk or something like that. I am not 100% but this is what I took from it.[/sp] I am sure someone else can give you the right answer later on, cause I am probably off about something.
And as I post I get ninja'd by a better explanation, well, there you go.

There's probably some downloads of the game's memory file being complete, but you're better off just speed running a normal run and then doing genocide.
The game is not too long if you speedrun it.

Wait can't you just start a geno run normally? I wonder if there's some extra dialogue for doing a genocide run as a first play through.

Having a complete memory file eliminates some dialog that happens (?), so if you want that fresh new genocide run you're better off speed running a normal run first.

Nah, the first playthrough is always neutral regardless of what you do.

I think if you skip through all the dialog and manage to beat everyone without any delays, you'll probably take less then an hour to beat the game.

Kind of confused about what you mean, but no if you do the genocide run you'll get an entirely different ending for that route.
But regardless you're stuck with having to do the neutral route if you indeed lost your save file.
i mean, in the same way you can not kill anyone, see the neutral ending, then reload your save file and do the pacifist ending
can you kill everyone, beat the game and see the neutral ending, then reload your save file and do the genocide ending?

Or does this only imply to Pacifist route? I never even did the Genocide route so I always assumed it's the same for both.

If you think about it, [sp]what if Chara during Asriel's time had SAVE thanks to a Human soul's Determination? It's entirely up in the air as to whether or not Chara was always evil or just wanted revenge on their village, but I imagine Chara going through a similar mental decline to Flowey before deciding to kill themself and have Asriel absorb the soul to try to destroy everything.[/sp]

Post Genocide - [sp]I'm slightly convinced that the effects of the Genocide run are Steam account bound. I noticed the save is backed up through the cloud saves reguardless if you have it enabled or not previously. Clever Girl.
