I thought the only reason So Sorry was considered a fetish character was because the guy has a fetish for morbidly obese furry creatures, a criteria which So Sorry fulfills.

I mean the character themselves are innocent, and I don't really care since they're not a plot character, but So Sorry's visual design was definitely worked around the guy's obesity fetish.

So Sorry is based off of "Samael the Butterdragon", which is the name of his character he created and drew art of years before Undertale was a thing. The reward tier he donated to let him put his "Fan Troll" (essentially "OC") into the game. I think the only reason anyone found out is because the final name in the pacifist credits is that previously mentioned name. I'm [sp]so[/sp] sorry to keep prolonging this pointless discussion about it but I hate to see an innocent and very generous guy being bashed for something he was allowed to do. It was even his idea to name it "So Sorry" and to keep it out of reach because he preferred it to be an easter egg.

I might've misunderstood what you said by the worked around part, and I agree cause if you look at some of his, uh, work... the So Sorry design is a really toned down version of his normal stuff

Yeah that's what I meant, the new design still has resemblance of the original design (obviously), which was modeled after his own fetish(es), but it's toned down where it's not directly visible, which is why I'm ok with it.

I was just saying that people calling it out for being a fetish character aren't entirely wrong.

I don't mind So Sorry being in the game considering he doesn't contribute to the plot at all, so I don't understand the big drama around him.

Personally, I see it as a missed opportunity for the backer to put in a more memorable character that the entire community would've enjoyed.

Yeah most people either dislike the character as it was a waste of potential, or aren't partial about it.

Then there's the vocal minority that absolutely hates it simply out of spite of the creator and their ideals.

Like I said, the in game version is innocent, and unless you look it up you'll never realize it was modeled after a fetish, but vocal minorities always exist

I don't care about his fursona or that he's a fatty, putting that aside, I really don't like this character to be honest. It's just a dragon that indulges in self-pity and has it's gimmick which is drawing. It just comes off as annoying to me where his entire battle is just him going "Oh sorry!", fucking up something and then throwing paper all over until he finally finishes it off in a disappointing manner by drawing a heart and running away.

I dunno about others, but that method of trying to charm me with a character with self-pity just doesn't work.
