I don't know anything about this game so I want to ask something. Is this game overrated? it is surely a fun game but everyone keeps talking about it, it starting to annoy me for some reason.
It's good. Well written, funny plot and characters, a great soundtrack, pretty visuals. One of the better games of the year, IMO. Rabid fanbase. Try to look past the hype and play it, though. Go into it with a blank mind, and throw away your expectations and you'll probably enjoy it. Just a protip: Don't do a violence; befriend everyone.
To be completely fair, Undertale's first glimpse into reality was on an Earthbound fansite from a designer who got his proverbial programmer's feet wet by making ROM hacks for Earthbound (and RPG maker projects).
I remember some of Radiation's old projects. There was a holiday Earthbound hack that was basically a love letter to the 2005-2007 Starmen.net community and a RPG Maker game (also holiday-themed) which involved the main protagonists of Earthbound fighting Garfield at the end. Radiation was a funny mod, but a cool guy. His writing has definitely improved.
Wasn't his Halloween hack as edgy as Shadow the Hedgehog listening to Linkin' Parks song "Crawling in My Skin" on repeat :v:?
Luke Warmsman is the pyro.
I think Gaster would make the perfect pyro considering they both are incredibly hard to understand
Actually I don't really have anything against the game itself(The soundtracks are pretty good for an indie game I can't disagree with that).I just dislike how large the fanbase is and how silly they are.

From the creator of the best game ever GameFAQs tournament 2015, everyone!

Actually I don't really have anything against the game itself.I just dislike how large the fanbase is and how silly they are.
Maybe the fanbase is big and silly because the product is fun and enjoyable? :v:

just did true pacifist ending worth it
Genocide route after pacifist route.
Jesus christ if what I got from my first mixed pacifist/genocide playthrough was the mediocre ending I can't wait to see what the pure pacifist and genocide endings are like. Like, that endboss was so unexpected and different from everything else that I had thought that the game didn't care that I'd killed [sp]Toriel[/sp] and gave me the pacifist ending everybody had been raving about.
Like two threads late, but I really love this game Before finding out about it, I'd watched a complete play-through of a different game that had some of the worst writing I'd ever heard, so I wasn't in a great mood with games Undertale put my brain back in. At the time I needed something made with love, and this was so much more Even weeks later and after most of the emotion has faded, my thoughts stay the same Don't know where to start or end talking about it's merits really, I'm just glad I could experience it. [sp]Goatmom for life[/sp] :dog:
Wasn't his Halloween hack as edgy as Shadow the Hedgehog listening to Linkin' Parks song "Crawling in My Skin" on repeat :v:?
To put it without spoiling, 99% of the game is this intense survival horror RPG thing where the player examines the broken confines of a once mighty man. It's genuinely eerie and quite emotional (if you've played Earthbound and know the context). Then you reach the final boss the game and all that effective tension and atmosphere is thrown out the window. No, scratch that. Colony dropped. Nuked from orbit. Everything dead in a ten mile radius. The tonal shift is that jarring. That's where the edgy part is. The rest of the game is anything but. ...I might be exaggerating a little bit, but you get the point. It's an awesome boss battle, mind. It also gave us Megalovania, so I ain't complaining.
Im off to start playing undertale for the first time, i dont know many spoilers so i think this will be very interesting. any last minute advice before i start? Gameplay vise, story vise etc etc
Im off to start playing undertale for the first time, i dont know many spoilers so i think this will be very interesting. any last minute advice before i start? Gameplay vise, story vise etc etc
check stuff and talk to people multiple times, and make phone calls often. that's the only worthwhile advice you need
Im off to start playing undertale for the first time, i dont know many spoilers so i think this will be very interesting. any last minute advice before i start? So I restarted my game because I botched my passive run by [sp]Not pouring the water on Undyne[/sp] Holy fuck, I was missing out on so much.
Super Smash Frisk by yours truly!
Wow. Great job, dude! You could've sold me on that as something straight from Smashified. I'd main Papyrus colors for sure
[sp]Not pouring the water on Undyne[/sp]
You cold hearted bastard.
[Sp] man i almost thought i had to kill toriel, its good i took that "u can show mercy to monsters" advice seriously.[/sp] Also holy shit those skeleton brothers are fun as hell, too bad papyrus didnt wanna take me to the bone zone, i thought our date went well. The soundtrack in this game is great, papyrus' "theme song" was so jammy i almost didnt wanna finish the fight with him lmao So far the game is adorable. Well except for that flower, what the christ is his problem, i swear if he does something horrible im gonna get mad
Okay! I said last thread I had something for you all! Here you go! [t]http://49.media.tumblr.com/c97f7e86ec3eeea5a4c87c4aaeaf4e36/tumblr_o01tox23Zu1r35r4po1_400.gif[/t]
i did something like this for sans a while ago, nowhere near as nice or high quality as this though. [t]http://puu.sh/mcsZV.png[/t] they should be obvious but the last one is supposed to be in-battle sprite coloring.
Goddamn I'm unable to beat mettaton, his first leg attack fucks me up everytime. Also, how do I even dodge the non-blue disco ball lasers?
People seem to have trouble fighting Mettaton, so here's a handy guide I've found that tells you all the secret: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcEgYG6nna4 [sp]Wow after seeing so many of you gush over Sans I thought you'd all have boners for bad jokes by now. But the serious answer is literally "FIRE!" Shoot EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING is about shooting in that battle.[/sp]
Also, how do I even dodge the non-blue disco ball lasers?
Shoot the disco ball.
Goddamn I'm unable to beat mettaton, his first leg attack fucks me up everytime. Also, how do I even dodge the non-blue disco ball lasers?
Try to shoot the disco ball. It changes the colors of the disco lights
Goddamn I'm unable to beat mettaton, his first leg attack fucks me up everytime. Also, how do I even dodge the non-blue disco ball lasers?
Direct answers, could be spoilery for others: [sp]For the leg attacks, wait until they almost reach you then shoot, don't shoot the ones that are already moving. Shooting the disco ball makes blue lines white and white lines blue, you gotta shoot it if the next line is white[/sp] [editline]29th December 2015[/editline] Honestly it took me forever to figure out how the disco ball worked, mostly because every time it popped up I just kept shooting it thinking I had to break it.

I got the game yesterday and when I got to this part and it happened, I just casually walked past it without thinking, since I thought it failed because Papyrus decided to spin his way out without saying anything.

Par for the course, Toby posted it in a manner that mocks a notoriously subpar user's thread.

The main character’s love interest is actually a female cuban cigar
Some deep Undertale lore in that thread.
PyBun's Sans model is almost done.
