I'm planning on doing a genocide run after having completed a true pacifist run. Is there a file or something I can backup/reset so I won't have any future runs ruined?

But like I said, unless you stumble upon it by accident (and the game [I]will[/I] let you know about it and give you plenty of opportunities to turn around) you'll only forfeit your happily ever after if you know what you're doing.

Couldn't you just disable your internet before you beat the final boss, then nuke your Undertale folder before reconnecting so that steam doesn't have a chance to sync with the cloud?

Just play it the way you want, replaying the whole game for a different ending isn't as boring as other games, and you'll know why eventually

From what I've heard it doesn't actually use Steam Cloud at all, but I'd rather not risk it.

Apparently not. If you save after [sp]Neo Mettaton EX[/sp] without turning off cloud sync, it won't matter if you nuke the directory since Steam will remember where you were and by that point there's no going back.

So if I were to turn off cloud sync before even starting the run, and delete the Undertale directory after finishing the run, then turning cloud sync back on after would bring back the pre-genocide files?
It sucks that i have to do Genocide again for the big fight
There was a simulator of the fight but it honestly wasn't the same
Especially not when the normal difficulty was bullshit hard with 1 hp

the sick guitar solo from the homestuck version is based around melodies from other homestuck songs, which wouldn't really make sense in undertale
