[sp]He might be slightly socio/psychopathic then. It's not really clear why he wanted to kill humans, but we can guess it wasn't for very happy reasons. But Chara was still just a young kid and, as far as we know, still capable of feeling the emotions of a young child.[/sp]

I know, it seems like I'm grasping at straws; but I find it weird that the whole idea that everyone deserves mercy and forgiveness - even the one child who's ultimate plan was to steal human souls and reap that of every monster in the underground so he can reset things back to the way they were before were before - seems to exclude Chara.[/sp]

1. He was a completely sociopathic, omnicidal maniac who fell into the hole intentionally to find the monsters, garnered their sympathy, tricked the young prince so he could use his soul in an attempt to destroy humanity and was ultimately defeated.
2. He was an angry, damaged and possibly mistreated kid who fell into the hole either accidentally, or in an attempt at suicide. He found a new family with the Dreemurs, who accepted him despite his unstable mental state and strange behaviour. He discovered a way to get revenge against the humanity that had mistreated him and simultaneously free his new family and was ultimately overpowered by his reluctant, loving adopted brother.
The story is too vague to really know just what Chara was really like. We only know about his post death personality.[/sp]

[sp]I got my own theory about Chara.
As stated in the game, humans have "determination". When Flowey was injected with it, he got the ability to "save" as we call it. He could go back to a specific place every time he so wished and redo things again and again. However, he eventually got bored of it because he had seen everything and then tried to kill everything in his path.
So, wouldn't it make sense if Chara could save and get bored of it as well? He probably had seen everything in the human world and set "killing everything" as a challenge. Either he fell down the hole because he had not tried what happens in that part yet or he knew that monsters lived in the hole and then tried to convince/make them to kill the humans. All just to see what happens[/sp]
