He says "at any point, I could have let this world go on without me", implying that if he so desired, he could stop himself from coming back to his 'save point'. He refused to die the first time because he changed his mind, and Flowey hasn't tried to ACTUALLY kill himself since. Just to experiment with saving. If he wanted to die, why would he become so scared of you when he starts wondering if you'll hurt him or not on the way to the throne room? He's beginning to realize that you might kill him, and that terrifies him.[/sp] geno spoils

The name of the character on he's avatar is literally called " Graymann ". That's what he meant by gray version. He wanted a dogfied gray version of the character instead of regular white.
