If FNaF was made with any smidgen of love there wouldn't already be three sequels in less than a year.
This is why I disrespect that series and its creator, he managed to beat most AAA developers at being a complete tool

I think it's less that he chugged them out as fast as possible for a quick buck, and more that Scott Cawthon is a man with a lot of nothing else to do with his life (besides his family), and FNAF is an exceedingly simple game where modeling the characters probably took longer than the coding.

It's pretty sad really. Just like the game or don't. It's not threatening your life if a lot of people enjoy a game. No matter how toxic the fanbase may be.

I personally don't [I]hate[/I] the game itself, just the way they were released. The base game looked sort of interesting to me but not anything worth my money.
All the clones remind me of those levels you see in Happy Wheels or LBP that all the less creative people copy to get attention and ratings.
I respect some of these people who spend time to make quality clones, or add their own twists to them, but the lack of originality in all of them really bothers me for some reason.

it's also a big difference in terms of the fans, I like FNAF but I'm not blind to what the majority of the fanbase is and what they want. Both games are deeply personal to both creators, but I'm not blind to the fact that a lot more care and love went into Undertale than FNAF, and that's reflected in the merch. It's just the nature of the two games.
