Can anyone explain to me [sp]who exactly Chara and Frisk are? Every steam guide that explains the plot seems to say something different. To my understanding, the character YOU name and actually play as is Frisk, right? But why does everyone name them Chara? Chara is the first human that fell down and became friends with Asriel, right? Then six other humans fell and had their souls collected, frisk(you) being the seventh?[/sp]

"Chara" is the child that you name at the start, while Frisk is the one you play as.[/sp]

[sp]Presumably, Chara is the one you're actually naming at the beginning of the game, with Chara being short for Character. Frisk is the one you play as the whole game, but after falling down the hole, Chara possessed them in some way, and each run shows a varying amount of how much influence Chara had on Frisk. On a Neutral run, Chara has some influence, but the exact amount depends on which ending you got. A True Pacifist run is Frisk overcoming Chara and staying true to themselves. A Genocide run is Chara completely taking over Frisk, which causes the death of everyone in the underground and eventually the whole world.[/sp]At least, that's what I've heard, so take what I said with a grain of salt.
Just bought the soundtrack. Despite all the songs being on youtube, definitely worth it.

I just have so much affection for Undertale because I've honestly never been so moved by a video game. It's astounding how much emotions it can invoke when it all seems so simple, the graphics, the gameplay, even a good chunk of the music is just sampled off of itself. All in such a short playthrough.
It's a piece of art imo, a really good one, and a lot of people appreciate it for that reason.
It's left a lasting mark on a lot of us.

I was NOT prepared for that when I first saw(and unfortunately heard) this when seeing the run. Evil+Intentional volume raise is not nice for the wimp.
That being said, I really love this game and it brought me just as much joy if not more than my favorite game series, Mother. Games that are bursting with charm are lovely!

I... actually had a dream where I had Christmas with Toriel, Asgore, and [sp]Asriel[/sp]. It was so [I]weird[/I] because of how mundane it was, like I was just getting christmas gifts for a family of goat monsters, no big deal.
I got [sp]Asriel[/sp] a novelty salt and pepper shaker set, I forget what I got Toriel (I think it was kitchenware like knives or something) and I got Asgore - either at Toriel's insistence or because I lost my shopping list or something - a roll of toilet paper.
The dream ended after they got their stuff and I woke up, and I just kind of lay in bed wondering what the fuck I'd just watched.
