So uh I just had my first Undertale related dream last night (Pacifist and some possible Geno spoilers).
[sp]It started pretty mundane with me and Asriel just watching some TV and Toriel in the kitchen preparing something (can't remember what); was all good.
Then Toriel came 'on-dream', but I couldn't see her face. It was literally just void of anything where her head was supposed to be. When she spoke her voice was like... eh, glitched? Kind of like 8-bit sounds gone all out of wack. Somehow, I understood her saying 'your just desserts.'
Except she wasn't carrying anything but a bloody knife.
She started stabbing at me, and in fear and desperation, I called to Asriel for help, but when I looked to him, he had turned to Adult Asriel in robe and all, and scowled.
"You didn't save her. You didn't save them. You didn't save ME." Then he walked away in disgust while I was being killed before turning to look with a Flowey sneer. "You earned this." He left 'off dream' while I succumbed to my wounds.[/sp]
That's when I woke up.
[sp]Even dream Asriel knows that I'm not above consequence after doing my Geno run. Now I REALLY want to have an option to save Asriel.[/sp]

the problems with spoilers is that the longer undertale's been around, the more people will feel like "oh this isn't a spoiler everybody knows about this," which is already happening with things like [sp]sans' fight in genocide or omega flowey or even asriel's appearance.[/sp]
i still feel that r/undertale's "everything after asgore or a non-neutral run is spoiler" policy would be the best guideline.

That's not the point, nothing about this track spoils anything, not the title nor the theme, unless you know when it plays. People can make the connection if they see [sp]Asriel[/sp]
Although it's usually advised by us for newcomers to avoid the thread in general unless they have questions

except the music in undertale is used to accent the storytelling via leimotifs, of which [sp]hopes and dreams/save the world has both flowey's motif and the his theme motif, which you can potentially associate with asriel depending on how many connections you make with the backstory given in the game pre asgore[/sp]

postal why are we not giving 12/24 hour bans for untagged spoilers? every week i find at least once that if i hadn't played the full game yet, i'd have had this same pacifist ending spoiler given away by this thread.

[sp]It would be hard, yes, but maybe he'd try to convince himself that he wasn't himself. There's a trace of that when you find him in the Ruins, and he says something like "if you ever see me again, don't think of it as me". Perhaps, eventually, he tries to bury the "Flowey" he was deep inside, and tries to live a normal life, though still wakes up in a cold sweat each night before asking Frisk if he can sleep in their bed (again). Perhaps, after all that's been done, Frisk becomes his rock, the true friend he needed all this time, keeping him anchored as he struggles to face those he hurt.[/sp]
[sp]The tale of Asriel struggling to be normal after all he's done, along with Frisk coming to terms with that they did just to give Asriel that second chance, could probably fill a frickin' book. Or at least a large tumblr blog.[/sp]

[sp]The alternative is sitting alone on his mistakes and rotting for the rest of time. Really, he's in a shit situation no matter which way you slice it. He's stuck as a souless miserable flower that wants to live but has nothing to live for. Chara at least had the good fortune to die (or not, depending on weather or not you believe in them being the narrator. In which case, they're BOTH stuck in a purgatorial hell of half-existence and cannot do anything about it.)
Maybe not save them, but put the poor bastards out of their misery with some weedkiller and an exorcism at the very least.[/sp]
