atleast give us some more stupid stat tweaks that are fun to play with
People always try to defend the whole cosmetic economy of games saying things like "if you don't like it, ignore it" or "it's all optional".
The problem I have with ALL skin/hat/cosmetic economies (while still better than pay to win), is that they shift the goals and focus of a [B]VIDEO GAME[/B] from [B]PLAYING[/B] the game, to getting these cosmetics.
This is what ruined TF2 in my opinion.
Since Cosmetics became the larger focus of the game, some people only really started to play to obtain these things, instead of actually playing. I don't disagree that this might extend the lifespan of the game or get people to play that would otherwise play infrequently or not at all.
However, the lifespan is extended artificially and the game still feels lifeless.
Take TF2:
I bet if you graphed the number of players maps played over time, you would see a decline in the number of "real players" via official/community maps versus "trade" and "idle" maps.
I have seen this trend multiple times, in different genre of games. This is the reason I am so opposed to cosmetic based economies tacked on to games.
Cosmetics added to a game are perfectly fine; I actually really enjoy cosmetics in games.
It's when they are made to be the focus when it really becomes an issue.
Blizzard has done well with this game so far. I really hope they see the backlash and correct their mistake.
I [B]REALLY[/B] don't want to abandon this game 1 year from now because the focus shifts to cosmetics.
give us brawl points for an exclusive brawl weapon or some shit.

as I see it, loot boxes and cosmetics are little goodies that are there to give levels some meaning outside of casual mmr because without loot boxes leveling up isnt really anything to get excited about

Well in Ster's stream Jeff Kaplan was talking about a new map and a new gamemode in the works, and he said that the new map was coming out soon, and that the new map was for one of the original gamemodes, and not the new gamemode, so there should still be a new map coming at some point soon.

Well at least Blizzard swung for the fences with the new skins. They look great but I won't ever be getting them from dops or buying the look boxes to get them.
