Let's all stop pretending that ana is a valuable healer
Uh. She is though.
Sadly it doesn't matter because Ana doesn't have anything as broken as Speed Boost or Discord Orb.
Someone said a while back that a big problem with the changes to self healing charging ultimates is that everyone who can self heal got the time to ult charge increased but Mercy's self heal doesn't actually add to the count because it's a passive and not an ability
so after some thinking I came up with some ideas that could potentially address some of her big issues:
1) the self heal not charging ultimate
-remove her healing passive, and instead have her apply a self heal on using Guardian Angel
it's already her lifesaving ability so it seemed like the best way to apply a genuine ability based self heal
2) she's not even the best burst healer even though all she ever does is heal
-in addition to the self heal, Guardian angel applies a small heal to the target upon reaching them (only if it actually reaches them) you could even burst heal 2 allies in a fight by flying at one and then putting your staff on the other
3) she can only really heal one ally at a time
-the heal upon landing is actually applied in a very small AoE (still including Mercy herself)
i'm not very great at balance ideas but i just figured i'd share these and see what you guys thought
imo the second option might be best
Had my first toxic player on the ps4 of all things. Laughed my ass off during it.
We were on defend for hollywood and my team was mulching themselves running in one by one while I tried to keep them alive as Lucio. They're about to touch the payload in and I turn on healing song and start dancing around it for a good minute while the team tried to shoot me down- we lost the second I died and I said "thanks" with the voice reel and boy oh boy our Mercy just fucking loses it after being silent the entire time. In summery
"FUCKING LUCIO YOU STUPID IDIOTIC PIECE OF SHIT WHY DIDN'T YOU PLAY THE SPEED SONG YOU STUPID FUCK ARE-" Map Swap "-TED? ARE YOU FUCKING BRAIN DEAD? WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM YOU PIECE OF SHIT, YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU."
I then followed him around the next map spamming "Why are you so angry?"
He didn't ragequit surprisingly and he shut the hell up after awhile but lmao man kids in this game take it more seriously then I ever could. Got 17k healing that match too and 5 minutes objective time so I was clearly the problem B)
Ana is really good at both damage and healing and she should do both but the problem imo is just that she is super defenseless vs flankers.. I'll run naked round my neighborhood if I ever hit a Genji or Tracer with a sleep dart

No, she has Nano Boost which takes a hero like Genji from "oh shit" to "even pros just take their hands off the keyboard when he is ultied". Or Reinhardt, or Roadhog, or D.Va, or Soldier. I'm pretty sure Tracer is a great candidate for nano boost too, as is high energy Zarya, and even a boosted and ultied Winston is nothing to fuck around with. She also builds it super quick so time to charge is nothing to worry about.

7 minute video so I won't blame anyone for not watching but holy fuck I felt so in the zone. I counted, and the on-fire sound occurred 8 times without dropping. So I think that's good. :v:
Ana actually kind of annoys me because there was a Bastion shooting up my potato teammates who were content ignoring it and hoping it went away so as Lucio I opened fire and got it to half health and kept firing but... it's health was going up instead.
There was a Ana on the other side of the wall a mile away just spamming healing shots on the Bastion and there was literally nothing I could do about it except watch the robitt slowly mulch my team.

Just had the game of my life in Watchpoint Gibraltar attacking.
Channeling my inner Seagull. (Without that ugly as sin skin though)
Everytime I see roadhog I want to jump on his big belly and smooch him

It's still not as broken as Discord Orb or Speed Boost.
Try to play a match without either of them directly after a match with both used well. Ana's just not good enough.

I noticed you actively held down defense matrix when there was no incoming fire or damage coming at you that couldn't be blocked (Winston).

Except I also said earlier it's perfectly reasonable to run a tri-support lineup.
What if Mercy's heal target gained some damage resistance while the healing stream is on them? That could allow her to create tanks which would be useful when everyone on your team chooses Offense characters.

Maybe have a charge meter on the staff that recharges over time and is consumed when healing to give more HPS (when actually healing, not overhealing). That way she has better burst heal but over a longer period her healing decreases.
Got a promising game, server crashes, lost good team. Next game lost, went back down from 52 to 51.
How the hell do you guys get out of this hole?
Except I also said earlier it's perfectly reasonable to run a tri-support lineup.
You either lose one of the damage dealers (really bad idea on offense, very often a bad idea on defense) or one of the tanks (just no).
I don't really see that working outside of Protect the Genji comp and that's going to be stopped by Winston and Zarya.

Flex your muscles at it
why is solo q quick play far more fun than comp with a team
Pharah was my main but the new updates made her kinda tough to play.
Just got mechaqueen. I will play her till I suffer.
Stopped a McCree ultie and single handedly fought off a mad Winston as Zenyatta, didn't get PotG. :(

Because Ranked has the same annoying bullshit, but it lasts even longer, and you actually lose something when you lose.
Played ranked with a bunch of friends trying to get my rank 63 up to 65 to get those 300 comp points.
I got all the way up to 67 and generally had a great time.
Just had a Really Cool round of Comp that featured us in sudden death. My team tried the Mercy/Reinhardt/Bastion combo only instead of mercy it was Zenyatta.
They decided it was a good idea to stand off the point as it was getting captured and I guess hope that the enemy team would get bored and leave and lost with literally no resistance. Cool people.

I'm still playing on my end.
After 50 games of Genji I'm in the bottom 10% for just about every single stat, maybe I should give this hero up lol, I dont think I'm improving with him very much and I'm a liability every game I play with him. This is the first time I've ever felt like its impossible for me to get better at something because it just isnt for me
I mean I've done the research and everything but I just get fucking melted and he does so little damage, hes useless in my hands, seems like a waste of time when I can just destroy as McCree instead with no effort
I ran into an internet celebrity today ingame.

I'm a Genji main and I would say that sometimes a Genji is not the choice that is needed.
I'm a Genji main and I would say that sometimes a Genji is not the choice that is needed.
Well the problem is that I cant find a situation that he is needed, I usually do a lot better (damage wise and survivability wise) as tracer because her weapons are just so much easier to use than genjis shurikens which continue to counfound me, it feels like I'm tossing peanuts at the enemy
My worst moment was when I was trying really hard to kill a lucio and get him down to combo-death range but my shitty damage output was being outhealed by his passive healing

I feel you on that, it felt like I was always getting melted when I was playing him and I tried my hardest, watching other players play, trying to understand their decision making, constantly checking if I should use my ult, and it felt like every time I used my ult I would just get smacked down to ~110HP instantly and it'd make my ult effectively useless.
I decided to try out Zarya in a quick play one time and I hated her at first...but then after watching others play her and getting a grip on how she plays I can't stop playing her, I always lock her in if I can, even if I don't get flashy scores and PoTG like I do (or did) on Tracer, it's always something for me and I'm always contributing to the team.
"Mercy's in trouble, shield and help." "McCree is in a bad spot, shield and help." "Reinhardt is getting shot a ton, shield for energy." and her literally game changing ult allows you to change the tide of so many games and put the team on your back if need be.
I met a guy in comp earlier who was playing Genji, we combined our ults and destroyed them, after that he added me, we started queuing together. We won...Every. Single. Game. All because of our devastating combo ults. We even found a Pharah later on who would time her ult with ours, so we added her and queued up, we'd save our ults and then all ult at the same time, it was brutal...then I had to go afk to eat dinner :v:
So what can you take from this story?
You'll find someone you really like, I used to play mostly Tracer, but now she's an anti-tilt mechanism for me, Zarya and D.Va are my main picks currently.
