[related to the previous page nuka world spoilers] I like the idea of [sp]luna vaults[/sp]. It's wacky as fuck but still mostly grounded and believable enough within the setting. It fits with the whole national dick-waving thing too [sp] "Oh you want to nuke AMERICANS? we will send AMERICANS to the moon!!! You got a nuke that will blow up *the moon* you commie fuckers?!!" [/sp]
Imagine if the institute was [sp]on the moon[/sp] instead. It'd be fucking stupid but imagine how much technologically impressive it'd make the institute seem. What if you got teleported in, looked out a window, and realized you were on the [sp]fucking moon[/sp]? Alas, explaining that lore-wise would be hard. [editline]a[/editline] It'd also make the lack of institute power armor much more problematic, because I at least would be demanding [sp]space power armor[/sp] because of the location and maintenance purposes. [editline]a[/editline] That also gives me an idea, the power armors could have difference bonuses depending on which one you're using. For example, the [sp]space power armor[/sp] could keep you breathing somewhere without air longer while the T-60 could make bullets ricochet off you, etc.
they think that fallout is the elder scrolls so they just break the lore multiple time, forgetting that time travel can't be possible in that universe.
Fallout 2 had a time travel encounter to take you back before FO1 and fo4 has cryo time traveling as the plot Also FO1 was supposed to have it
my game crashes as soon as i approach the area to begin the nuka world quest. disabled pretty much all my mods. how did you guys get it to work?
cryo time travelling? You mean cryostasis? There's a huge difference between literal time travel and keeping someone alive for longer than they're supposed to be. time travel is literally going back in time
Time travel goes backwards and forwards in large amounts in short perceived time. Back to the future 2? That one spongebob ep? Idiocracy? It's a less fancy means but Either way, fo2 still had going back in "Guardian of Forever" so
my game crashes as soon as i approach the area to begin the nuka world quest. disabled pretty much all my mods. how did you guys get it to work?
Do you have a mod that modifies the HUD, like DEF_UI? If so, you either need to disable the mod, or if you have DEF_UI, you need to download the update that was release not long ago. Anyone that has DEF_UI should make sure that they download that update too, you'll need it for Nuka-World.
Also this http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-03-08-original-fallout-concept-included-time-travel-sentient-dinosaurs-fantasy-planets
The quest in FO2 has you break the water chip from Vault 13- so literally the beginning of FO1 is a result of time traveling. They don't use it often but it definitely is "allowed", especially since it's pre-Bethesda [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] What does it referencing Star Trek have to do with anything? A lot of fallout stuff is a reference to something
wait are you implying that time travel Easter egg in FO2 somehow implies canon time travel?
That's a lot different lol It's not like you teleported to the fucking Enterprise or time traveled so far the game wasn't finished
Time travel goes backwards and forwards in large amounts in short perceived time. Back to the future 2? That one spongebob ep? Idiocracy? It's a less fancy means but Either way, fo2 still had going back in "Guardian of Forever" so
Guardian of Forever isn't really canon
That's a lot different lol It's not like you teleported to the fucking Enterprise or time traveled so far the game wasn't finished
it's actually not at all to believe time travel is in fallout because of that easter egg, you have to believe dr who is in fallout as well
Except it's just a disappearing call box [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] This is literally a short quest related to the plot of the previous game
Except it's just a disappearing call box [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] This is literally a short quest related to the plot of the previous game
if your definition of canon is whether or not there's a quest attached, your definition is quite arbitrary the quest is just there to guide the player through the easter egg
i'm so happy there is an ak now i'm buying the dlc just for that i'm sick of running around with a combat rifle pretending its a mutated ppsh and is this https://i.imgur.com/n8uB6zN.jpg supposed to be[sp] sierra petrovita from fallout 3? [/sp]
Except it's just a disappearing call box [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] This is literally a short quest related to the plot of the previous game
it's a star trek reference actually [t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/2/20/Fo2_Guardian_of_Forever.png/revision/latest?cb=20130521152959[/t]
Gonna need some citations where they say it's noncanon or just a meaningless Easter egg then, a teleporting call box isn't meeting the Doctor. They wouldn't even have rights to do that. Also it's all "arbitrary" since Bethesda decides the canon now so if they want time travel tough titties [editline]17th August 2016[/editline]
it's a star trek reference actually [t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/2/20/Fo2_Guardian_of_Forever.png/revision/latest?cb=20130521152959[/t]
And?
It's a joke quest. Fallout 1 still happened even if you end your game without doing the Guardian of Forever event so it's not canon.
You could say this about a ton of side quests lol, throughout all of these kinds of games
Gonna need some citations where they say it's noncanon or just a meaningless Easter egg then, a teleporting call box isn't meeting the Doctor. ( they must have loved the monty python to make so many reference about them, i should watch some of their sketch )
And?
seems like star trek has just as much of a presence in this easter egg as dr who has in that other easter egg is dr who canon?
Show me where you see dr who because it's literally a disappearing call box
Show me where you see dr who because it's literally a disappearing call box
Really?
Show me where you see dr who because it's literally a disappearing call box
The "Call Box" is the TARDIS in the Doctor Who TV serie, the TARDIS is a ship. It is giant on the inside but it look like a call box on the exterior because it's disguise system has been broken (Think of a lizard system). Now stop playing ignorant.
Yes, you walk up to a call box and it disappears At no point does a scarfed man climb out and say hi I'm the Doctor and I'm gonna explore for a bit peace There's also no items/quest/relation to story for this one [editline]17th August 2016[/editline] I'm aware of a tardis
I could have sworn one of the Fallout Wiki's said the Guardian of Forever question was Non-Canon and had a source for that, but they don't anymore.

I just. I can't comprehend. I don't understand. Do you take all Easter eggs in all games as canon material?
Guess we can stop circle jerking about how fallout lore and story was so great before that darn Bethesda since the originals literally wanted the first game to feature Dino's and time travel and made a quest suggesting that the plot of the first was influenced by time travel and time traveling is apparently inherently shit Isn't the tardis you're arguing about also capable of time traveling [editline]17th August 2016[/editline]
I could have sworn one of the Fallout Wiki's said the Guardian of Forever question was Non-Canon and had a source for that, but they don't anymore.
If you find it let me know
If you find it let me know
They're also saying its an easter egg, so it isn't canon.
Guess we can stop circle jerking about how fallout lore and story was so great before that darn Bethesda since the originals literally wanted the first game to feature Dino's and time travel and made a quest suggesting that the plot of the first was influenced by time travel and time traveling is apparently inherently shit
The originals didn't feature dinosaurs, time traveling or the tardis. They're easter eggs.
I just. I can't comprehend. I don't understand. Do you take all Easter eggs in all games as canon material?
When it literally affects the plot and is a side quest with items yeah Also you still haven't pointed me to where they've said it's a noncanon "Easter egg" I guess we can just toss out a shitton of side quests. At least this one crosses games.
