Alright, I have an idea for a mod that I'm surprised wasn't a part of the base game/automatron. I'm willing to use my limited skills to create it but I'm going to need some advice on how to proceed.
I'm a big fan of Codsworth because having a robot butler has always been [U]the[/U] dream, but he doesn't look very butlery.
I want to make a paint for a protectron so he looks a bit like this:

Only with more detail on the bowtie, like those t-shirts you can get that look like this:

The way I see it, I could probably just use the black paint, but then add a bowtie to the head plating, and the shirt and lapels on the torso, if that makes sense.

My questions are:
1. Is tuxedo paint really not already in the game? Because I'm certain I'm going to post this and then get showered in clocks when it turns out there's a protectron butler you meet later in the story/dlc I haven't played yet.
2. Would it be easy to create another paint altogether or is it better to just modify the protectron black paint textures?
3. How would I go about extracting the textures I need?
Are there any decent companion mods? NV and I think 3 had a few that I liked.

You're likely going to have to wait at least one more year before really good mods like that start coming out. Until then it's mostly going to be baby-steps and experiments more than anything.
i've never been a big power armour guy so i just got incredibly excited at seeing my first piece of x01. i opened up the cage it was in and walked up to it and it said t45, yet it 100% looked like x01. i get in the suit and it changed appearance to the t45. wtf

Man the [sp]Gauntlet[/sp] in Nuka-World is really killing me. On Survival so I have to keep going back to the beginning, and I've got mods that disable the [sp]LED lights and beeping on all the mines, so without VATS spamming I keep getting murdelated by the mines in the access tunnels, even with Dense armor.[/sp] I survived one that exploded near a car and crippled my legs for long enough that I couldn't get away before the car exploded and instantly killed me.

Totally agree, I have a mod that disables that light step perk for Sneak 2. Keeps you more on your toes.

Lips are the give away
In Oblivion the lips were so pudgy that they were practically just a bad lipstick texture. With Fallout 3 Beth decided to actually model the lips.

Probably the least intrusive-immersion breaking quest mod around. Someguy's relies too much on ebin references to pop culture and started getting too cocky by his last mods, but they're not bad, just not my cup of tea
If you really want more content you can always install AWOP and if you want a totally different experience on NV you can install DUST, but i can't recommend both of them as i find them horrible. Many people love them though which is why i'm mentioning anyway

Puce Moose's mods always have really ugly textures and models and the fact they're almost all just intricate note quests is kinda offputting
The best alternative I can suggest is the [url=https://3dnpc.files.wordpress.com/2016/08/3dnpc-fnv-bundle-v0041.zip]3DNPCs bundle[/url]. It's a handful of minor quests and new NPCs but the writing's fairly solid and the voice actors aren't a bunch of teenagers with cheap mics.

After watching the videos.. I like it. I actually can't wait to try it out when it's done
Just did a quest for Mags in The Commonwealth, went up against 5 Railroad Agents, all of which had Gauss Rifles, like, I didn't realise that was a weapon that was being Mass Produced by a small ass faction that often moves around and doesn't exactly have a great deal in the way of resources, or so it would seem anyway.

Well, the Fallout 4 gauss rifle looks rough enough that it might be post-war, and IRL gauss rifles are not exactly difficult to make (though not nearly as lethal).
Gauss Rifles will also be in all those crashed air planes when you're really high level.
Like, lots of rifles, I found 5 once in a single stash, with different mods.
As I just got Curie for the very first time. Is there a massive difference between the robot and synth forms besides the obvious looks and robot upgrades?
