A good effort, though even the PA says they're cryogenic chambers.
Really the only thing convincing the residents they were anything but deep freezers was the staff. If anyone had stopped panicking (probably wishful thinking) and bothered to look around, they might have noticed there was no 'deeper' in the vault.
Which brings me to this question: what were the staff supposed to do to survive? There was no hydroponics, no food storage, etc.
Is there any point to exploring locations off the beaten path in New Vegas?
I've often heard that New Vegas is more fun to explore than FO3 and even FO4, but most of the individual locations I've found in the Mojave so far contain worthless loot and are rather dull in terms of environmental design, so I'm kind of struggling to see the appeal.
Ehhh. New Vegas' world, in my opinion, wasn't as fun to romp around in as compared to FO3s. There was a lot of diversity in FO4 I think, from the city into the pseudo-Appalachia in the north, and a lot of cool DLC areas with the pit and Point Lookout. I think walking around looking at neat stuff and poking around in prewar buildings was done better in FO3 than NV.
Not to say NVs exploration is BAD, it isn't. There are lots of cool little set pieces for sidequest and the like, but it did feel like most of it was wide open desert. Also keep in mind I'm probably heavily biased since I live so close to DC, so seeing it all first hand in a fallout game in first person was neat as hell for me, and probably why I remember it so fondly.

A terminal entry suggests they had non-perishable rations, probably stored in all those vault tec crates you see scattered about, but vault tech didn't bother to supply them with enough for everyone hence the staff killing eachother.
Would have been neat to see various working prototypes or something in regards to robots, like if you remember that Prototype Sentry bot in the dump in Fallout 4, it would have been cool to have a call back to this old thing, but obviously in the new art direction and obviously not directly identical as this thing was never released, instead of it just being completely identical to the Sentry bot in all but name.

to be fair, the previous design for the sentry bot looked goofy as hell compared to what we have now.

Same here, though I have to say I absolutely loved traveling the long desolate roads of NV, especially the southwest parts where you often caught the giant ants (I want em in fo4) fighting the traders, and the occasional NCR / Legion who hunted you down colliding with them.
I'll never miss the stupid amount of metro tunnels in FO3 though, those were such an ugly black mark and got so old so quickly past the first few (excluding the one with the guy that gives you the Shishkebab ofc, that was cash).

Staff was supposed to get an all clear a few days after the attack and evacuated by vault tech, he vault was to be turned over to remote monitoring but that signal was never sent, and possibly the medical staff were themselves part of the experiment.
They had enough rations for a few weeks but nothing more, that's why you find all the corpses because the medical staff and the security staff had a shootout
[editline]27th June 2016[/editline]
Really to do a roleplay as a ghoul, your character got hit by the blast and stuck around until the remnants of the vault scientists left and then went inside to find everyone frozen. Having seen the devastation outside firsthand and sickened by radiation poisoning he or she decided to trust in vault tec to see them through, taking the place of one of the survivors who did not make it to the shelter their last waking scene was of someone holding a baby.
Years later they are awoken to see the baby being kidnapped and the parent shot dead. Unbeknownst to them, they are spared because the institute wrongly believed them to be related to the child.
Some time later when released from the vault the survivor emerges to find the ghoulification process was only slowed by the cryo chamber. Emerging into a wasteland as a ghoul they find the robot belonging to the parent and decide to track down that child.
Setting off they are barred from diamond city and take refuge in good neighbor where they meet up with everybody's favorite libertarian who explains that they are a ghoul now and they set off to destroy the searching for the stolen child

Alright, home stretch for the sniper rifle. I'll be releasing what I have finished or not before the end of the weekend and patch anything I miss later. Thanks to the help of Cookie (who was working on that nickel plated 10mm) I now have alternate materials, so carbon fiber is a go. More importantly, the Gobi desert sniper rifle is possible as a thing - I just need to do some cell editing and create a unique legendary (although the paint scheme will be transferable ala Kevmah's tooth).

I want it so bad :U
But why would your character want to get in a cryopod?
In hindsight I can see that it's a bit weird. I wanted to try and see how you could add it in without having too much else changed storywise, but it [del]probably[/del] ends up creating more issues.
Like what _charon said, probably better off just making an alternate start mod.
I'm looking for a CK tutorial on how to create a workshop category but can't find anything so far, anyone know of one?
Has anyone found an efficient way to profit from manufacturing?
I was thinking bottlecap mines would be a good way to make some money since the mines seem to sell for a fair bit over the cost of the mats (especially when you make your own fertilizer & adhesive.) But I'm having trouble automating the whole process because it requires steel for the builder to make lunch boxes, but also to turn the lunch boxes into mines. Can't think of a way to split the steel 3:2 between the builder and explosives mill from one source.
Is there a way to reliably get a divider to flip back and forth?
[editline]28th June 2016[/editline]
now that I'm thinking of it, some combination of tripwires, power counter cycler & logic gates with a hopper/lift so the mats don't group up and fuck with the tripwire? Logic gates confuse the shit out of me though
[editline]28th June 2016[/editline]
Or I'm just way overthinking it and an interval switch would probably work lol
god, I hate how in these "faction overhaul" mods the first step is always "give them power armor"
-actually nevermind, I figured it out-
So is TTW stable enough to play though yet? thinking about doing a playthough while i wait for Nuka World

I don't understand the massive hard-on some modders have for giving minutemen power armor. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to be as highly mobile as possible, something that's entirely denied by heavy as fuck armor that eats up fusion cores whenever you move them ?

i suspect this is the mod you're talking about

Makes the Railroad more immersive by...giving their leaders Enclave armor.
What.

For the people that noticed on my mod a somewhat strange voice, like she was inside a room, she's gonna record every single line again, plus all the rest (1200+ lines). She gave me an explanation about it
"Yeah. Mainly because I didnt have a pop filter, so when I was recording I was soft with my voice as to not get popping noises, so when we increased the audio, it got really well.. that sounding"
Soon, I'll post a much more complete video with her voice. I'm also planning to support all the major DLC, like Far Harbor and Nuka-World.
So is TTW stable enough to play though yet? thinking about doing a playthough while i wait for Nuka World
I played through TTW with an ass load of other mods like a year ago without any gamebreaking issues. Played through all of FO3 and about 80% through FO: NV with one character.

If she does this for free then god damn she's cool.

She refused payment, and trust me, I tried :pudge:
So with the advent of the assaultron helmet in automatron, would it be possible to make a power armor with a helmet that snaps shut when you draw a weapon? Preferably with a heavy metallic snapping sound? Or maybe something like a buzz lightyear helmet?
My excitement of conveyor machinery has died down so much, everytime I try something with em it either doesn't work, or it sends the same item or ones I don't want due to lack of filter on what to pull, having only one workshop to pull from is limited to say the least, and there's no reasons to make a conveyor belt that will take ages to do anything at all when you could just pull resources and place em yourself into a crafting machine. it's also crazy how often they can jam or small items will get stuck inside filters / lifts..
Not to mention the crippling lack options that you have to put up with, sorters can only face direction, you can't choose which side the filtered items go through, can't choose the speed of the conveyors, bleh, so disappointed :c
The only enjoyable and efficient thing I've found to do is to place an auto-butcher to clean up all the corpses in my arena / NPC fightclub I've set up, and that's a freakin' mod god dammit.

I'm fairly sure that it would be relatively easy to make, but like with a lot of things people want to do, it's still not really possible to create animations properly. Once people finally get over that hurdle, I wouldn't be surprised if a decent amount of animation mods start popping up.

how did that one dude make that middle finger animation? is he just a wizard or was that some unused animation or something?
how did that one dude make that middle finger animation? is he just a wizard or was that some unused animation or something?
They might have had some software that can do the animations. I've read that there is something that can make animations for Fallout 4, but that it's too expensive for most people to realistically have.
If it wasn't that then yeah they managed to work out something that almost everyone hasn't yet and may as well be a wizard.
i think the minutemen could benefit from a few sets of t-45.
Unless you have vertibirds, you wouldn't really benefit from power armor because travelling there would soak in so many fusion cores for just one guy.
