a lot of survival gameplay banks on you having a handle on the basic gameplay imo. Try survival and if it makes you burst a testicle just switch down
So, if I'm a first time player of Fallout 4, but an experienced Fallout 3 and New Vegas hardcore mode (even with jsawyer) player, should I start out with normal difficulty or Survival?
I'd say just go for it on Survival. Maybe get a quick save mod to avoid the most annoying aspect of Survival. I've only ever played the game on Survival, albeit starting on the original version anyway.
I actually kinda like the idea behind saving only at beds, seems like a good way to avoid my save-scumming tendencies. Keeps me honest.

Keeps me honest.
Yet when you've progressed roughly 2 hours without being able to find a bed, and then get into a fight where a molotov comes your way and kills you in one hit, It makes you want to not be honest. And the best survival save system anyway is a periodic saving system. A save every 15 - 30 minutes would work just as well as the current system, if not better.

Lost count of how much progress i lost because i was in the middle of exploring somewhere and had to turn the game off and no beds or matresses anywhere nearby. Looks like this is getting added though which is good.
I really don't get how this can be right. I mean, there is almost as many mods for fo4 already, as there is for fo3/fnv, but almost all of it looks like trash, or is about the settlement system. Very little gameplay changing mods and actually fun stuff. It's actually kinda disappointing.
Fallout 3 didn't get all that many mods in its lifetime (at least not on the Nexus), and New Vegas has a relatively smaller community.

Then it deletes itself when you load it.
Bang, done. [t]https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1151/images/15922-0-1467500194.jpg[/t] Thanks again for all the feedback and criticism on this while I was creating it. Edit: Oh my god, if I had a dollar for every rookie mistake I made with this mod so far, I could buy you all a copy of bad rats.
Never expect stuff like overhauls, quest mods, etc within three months of modding tools being out.
Speaking of quest mods, I haven't tried it yet, but I think we've got our first really good one. Video kinda sucks but it clearly shows some good features. There was also a quest mod involving a ghoul a while back that looked small but ok, but I forgot its name

Oh yes, for fans of Warhammer 40k Space Marine Power Armour, a modder has done a pretty great version using the Power Armour system, as well as Bolters. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15901/?
Watch it get shut down by Games Workshop like the TF2 mod
Alright, my video is finished. I've been getting pretty good feedback thus far - one guy linked me a tutorial on placing legendaries, and there's a general consensus that reload speed is pretty fast. I'm hoping to get a new version out before the end of the weekend to address that. The only other major thing left is to figure out why my muzzle flashes are broken.

As well as giving Legendary Modified Institute Rifles to all aforementioned NPC's. if wearingpowerarmor=false then set immersion=broken
For me, a lot of FO:NV's stuff is sorta blocked off in a sense, cause i just can't bring myself to do evil shit. I mean sometimes i'll quicksave and try to murder as many people as i can, but then i'll just go back to doing the good guy stuff. I tried to start an evil run, but i just couldn't murder all the townsfolk and stick with it. It just didn't work for me.

Maybe I'll actually use PA now!

At the end of the game I had no kills, max reputation in nearly every faction, and very evil karma.

version 0.3.0 of the NCR Ranger armor should come out in a few hours says it's going to include:
NCR Veteran Ranger Outfit and accessories Desert Ranger outfit and accessories Pre-war Riot Gear and accessories Advanced and Elite Riot Gear armor and rebreathers Functioning vision modes, toggleable by iron sights A return of the Anti-Materiel Rifle with mod support; Take the mantle of the NCR’s finest, or make use of your “Gun Nut” knowledge to fabricate your own fully-automatic receiver and turn your enemies into paste! A return of the heavy-handed Hunting Revolver, a multitude of modifications both new and vanilla, as well as unique variants I’m sure you will all remember fondly. More outfits, strategically placed around the commonwealth for you and your companions to find. Unprecedented customization options: Bandoliers, armor add-ons, paintjobs, patches, and decals. Be the Ranger YOU want to be!
Any alternatives for Ressurection?
Does anyone have fireworks not working bug in Contraptions DLC? I've tried switched power line and that didn't work. It's hooked on computer if that matters.
There's goes my SSD hype. That load time is same with my regular HDD.
My load times are fine on an SSD.
I had forgotten what load times were until I moved Payday 2 from my SSD. Fallout 4 has been on my SSD and its awesome and I'm scared if I ever have to take it off.
