Damn that update snuck outta nowhere, gotta wait for updates for everything now. :ohno:
I wonder what the new names are
I wonder what the new names are
hopefully more common names that weren't in the game to begin with such as: kyle
hopefully more common names that weren't in the game to begin with such as: kyle
Why on earth wasn't "Frank" included? I hold no hope for the game having my actual name, though.
Wasn't Christopher a name that Codsworth couldn't say? :v:
hopefully more common names that weren't in the game to begin with such as: kyle
They added Kyle. Kyles everywhere rejoice.
The patch is out, why not dig through the files with the GECK and see what they added Or check reddit, they probably have a list already
Is it me or do all mod created weapons look like shit in Fallout 4's engine? They all look overly shiny and the textures are usually blurry. Not to mention the default weapon fov makes most of them way too large.
If there was any mod I wish to be made even if's almost definitely impossible it would be a grappling hook mod. This is the first Fallout game where it would actually be helpful to have. In Fallout 3 there's nothing in the rooves of buildings and hardly any you could even get on top of to check, but in Fallout 4 there's tons of bases and hidden caches on the tops of buildings and you can get to them by either scaffolding, fire exits, or a door from the inside. Sure a grappling hook might bypass some dungeons, but it'll be so cool with the Silver Shroud costume that everyone wears by endgame.
So after the update my game won't even start fully yet, it just CTDs after getting to the initial splash screen/video that says "Bethesda Softworks" on it.
This is why it's not the best idea to mod games that are still in some level of production. Not a terrible idea, mind, just one that will inevitably lead to a lot of faffing about.

Not a terrible idea, mind, just one that will inevitably lead to a lot of faffing about.
I'm doing some tinkering to see if it is indeed mods that are causing my crashes, but at the same time I've also seen some reports that other players using no mods are having similar issues as well. EDIT: I've got a sneaking suspicion it might be F4SE that could be causing this, but I'm going to have to do some testing to make sure.
The texture is a lot better than his other mods, too. I don't have a screenshot, but it looks very nice in first person.
It looks like this: It looks better, but the gun is too clean, and it lacks of some signatures of the weapon But overall looks nice ..... ..... but the sounds, THE SOUNDS, are awful, it looks ripped straight from a youtube video
I wonder what the new names are
I hope they fixed Fallout not being a voiced name so my John Fallout run is more immersive.
congrats to ltc for getting the dks-501 sniper rifle onto the front page of the nexus it's well deserved
Now we just gotta vote for him for file of the month/get him past that fucking CBBE Lacey Underwear mod.
So after some testing, I've still got no idea whatsoever about what's causing my game to suddenly CTD roughly 3-5 seconds after it boots and goes fullscreen. Had no problems prior to the 1.6 update, and now all of a sudden I can't play it. I know it's not (or at least shouldn't be) something hardware-related, since I've got a rig that falls right in the mid-range of what should be able to run FO4 smoothly.
I downloaded the Remington 1858 and the sound effect is so shitty unfortunately, the guy basically downloaded a youtube vid and called it a day. What a shame too.

I had one of those years ago.
Anyone still interested in this enough for me to bother trying to get it ingame? if so, what would be a good animation set to base it off of? (break action magnum rifle)

(break action magnum rifle)
Damn I'd forgotten you'd made this, unfortunately I don't think any of the animations suit it considering all the revolver type weapons are one-handed (flicking open the chamber with one hand would look ridiculous/bone-shattering)

I've a feeling you're gonna need to make them from scratch, though
There's the Pipe revolver, with a stock you hold it with two hands, but then the fact it's a single action. That's the only thing I can think of logically borrowing animations from. Edit: ^^ Oh dammit. :v:

Looks stunning, and I love the idea of a break action revolving rifle. Also, managed to fix my launch crashing issue. Turns out a mod I'd just installed that aimed to provide several overhauls to the Minutemen was the culprit.
Maybe pipe revolver rifle? I've a feeling you're gonna need to make them from scratch, though
The cylinder of that comes out from the side, unfortunately. It would be the best option if the weapon wasn't meant to be break action. Perhaps the Double-Barrel Shotgun would work, though? That's break action, and it probably wouldn't look too odd. I'm not sure how all of the animations would look with it, though. The Gauss Rifle or the Laser Rifle animations could maybe work, though I'm not entirely sure on them.

So after the creation kit being a [del]buggy piece of shit[/del] delightfully stable experience, I made some blades. A Bread knife and the Cleaver, because apparently I'm going the full kitchen armament route.
