Aww yeah, my marmoset recreation of the CK model previewer is pretty much done. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21161113/random/gamebyro_recreation.jpg[/t] I'm going to try and pack it up so you too can see how dishearteningly worse your models will actually look in-engine!
Ok so I got fallout 4 for Christmas and have only just completed the main story today. [sp] I went with the institute ending. So after the quest "nuclear family". I put on fathers lab coat and just played the game wearing that. I then did the following quests , pest control, political leanings (this was a shocker to find out mayor McDonough was a Synth the whole time), appropriation, building a better crop, hypothesis and reclamation. I also cured Virgil, and I visit kid synth Shaun but he only really wants me to give him junk to make shit for me, from the looks of it he only makes weapon mods or something. Basically I'm trying to do everything after the main story. So does anyone else know what I can do after completing the main story with the institutes ending?. What I mean by this is there anything I can do that I can only do after completing the game, so not like carrying on with side quests or finding all the bobble heads and shit. But things I can do that can only be done after the story. Also are there any other secrets besides mayor McDonough? [/sp]
No. Like I really wish it wasn't that simple and lame of an answer, but it is.
Day 2 of learning to mod, had an old Claymore model lying around (the greatsword, not the mine) so I decided a simple melee weapon would be good practice before I tackle the gun. [t]https://i.imgur.com/TgPBiyV.jpg[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/jC004zo.jpg[/t][t]https://i.imgur.com/ZGiOccI.jpg[/t] I retextured it today to look like it had been fished out of an old smashed museum cabinet or something. The textures aren't correct yet (they're poorly compressed, the channels are wrong, plus my 4096 x 2048 maps had to be changed to uniform 4K maps because I don't know how to tell the game to use 2:1 ratio UVs) and the third person is using the first person model even though I specifically told it not to, which is why he's holding the grip to high, but hey, I'm pleased that I managed to get this far so fast (and not without some help from Lt_Commander) I'm having far too much fun running around chopping things so I might release it as a mod once everything is nailed down. [editline]10th July 2016[/editline]
[img_thumb]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/451866700995249395/2CCBBAF1F05C7A4839F35C528B21A89331D39A1C/[/img_thumb] I may have watched too much Berserk. Too bad there's no decently sized swords, can't wait for that Bumper sword to come out.
What a coincidence. Well the number of large swords in FO4 should soon increase considerably lmao
No. Like I really wish it wasn't that simple and lame of an answer, but it is.
Oh. I was expecting at least some more secrets then the mayor
Oh. I was expecting at least some more secrets then the mayor
Well, if you look and read into things carefully, you'll likely find small things here and there. Basically, if you haven't already explored everything, that's really what you can continue doing after the main questline. Although, if you have access to Far Harbor, then you can also do a unique mission for that faction, but beating the game isn't a requirement to access it, it's still an extra though.

Well this took far too long to get working [img_thumb]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/275100415613608375/7BDBC8CD2D6543C76A0315EE71D6AD9E2F271456/[/img_thumb] If only I could get it to sit better on the head. OH WELL.
By port you guys mean full recreation right
Man, sometimes it amazes me how much time I put into FO3 and NV with how poorly they play. The movement and shooting is so choppy and janky :v:
So I went to modify my power armor, the game froze, and suddenly I was in it and unable to exit it. The armor looked a little... off. [t]http://puu.sh/pX8ep/0a161897b3.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/pX8f7/d776081181.jpg[/t][t]http://puu.sh/pX8fG/059b05cdc0.jpg[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/pX8Lj/b3041309e1.jpg[/t] Finally, thanks to FlyingDog and Deez, he's in-game and working!
I wish I was competent enough to make a mod that severely reduces the amount of guns in the game, adds back weapon condition and repairing, and add a bunch of brickbat weapons where if you find like a brick or glass bottle you could use it as a one or two use weapon. It's always really annoyed me that I can't use this huge wrench to bash people's faces in but I know I wouldn't bother if I had the option to use a full-on non-pipe sniper to blow someone's face off in one hit.
[t]http://puu.sh/pX8Lj/b3041309e1.jpg[/t] Finally, thanks to FlyingDog and Deez, he's in-game and working!
I think it'd make more sense for Radiation Gain to give a Damage Resistance instead, rather than taking less Rads, especially given that the Children of Atom fucking bathe in Radiation.
I think it'd make more sense for Radiation Gain to give a Damage Resistance instead, rather than taking less Rads, especially given that the Children of Atom fucking bathe in Radiation.
But the Children of Atom's gimmick is that they aren't affected by radiation because they've 'been blessed by Atom' (or they've mutated internally to deal with large doses of radiation). Well, some of them at least.

I'm making a quest mod and I've just come to realise how limiting the voiced protagonist is going to be on my mod. I've got two options: Either carefully craft the dialogue around the existing lines, or just keep the player silent. What do you think Facepunch Fallout thread, what should I do?

We've heard enough of the protagonist to know what they sound like, we can use our imagination a little.

As in, after choosing a dialogue option, the player makes a face and takes a breath, and suddenly the guy goes "I know what you're thinking, and yes, there is a secret entrance to the south." I like to imagine he'd sound like No-bark Noonan
Should I play the far harbor before or after the main quest?
I hope you saved recently before that happened, because reloading the game won't fix it.
Yeah I did thank god.
before it's too good to put off really
gotta save the better story for last, so he can end on a high note.

Wouldn't be a difficult problem if the player is just another hired gun or bodyguard. Plus in the places where you do need to speak, there are plenty of non-specific responses the player could give. All it would mean in the end is that the player wouldn't be too attached to whatever story is unfolding around them. And we would have some realistic work to do in a fallout game for a change rather than all the snowflake random things that normally happen on a side quest.
Should I play the far harbor before or after the main quest?
You can get some real neato armor, so before. Also the questline is better than the main one.

These look pretty good. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/40562/?
http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/40562/?
Oh shit, ELFX is moving to Fallout 4 too

I think the before pictures actually look better in those two examples. They feel more lively and colorful than the "enhanced" versions which are bland, colorless and generic. Replacing every possible light with godrays and exterior lights isn't necessarily the best answer to everything.

I'm torn between the two.
