Shelter protip: don't go on quests unless you've got an OP weapon, combat is going to take a long time and it occurs ever 1-2 rooms. Dungeons got like maybe ~15 rooms give or take.
right at the beginning of the game I got 1 unique dweller and 2 rare weapons, dennis white + gatling laser and alien blaster
I hate hopping out of the vertibird and falling on my face.

Took waaay too long for this, but I had to get it juuuuust right

and i was listening to this on loop for max focus while making it, if you were wondering.
and yes, the moon is replaced too.
Unfortunately, with the way the game displays clouds, you can't really get it to be one giant todd face. :/
You gotta love the bethesda.net community

And OrionPax dm'd me about a pretty ambitious quest mod altering the main quest, but I won't spoil it unless it never comes to fruition. You guys will love it.
It appears the PTRS-41 Anti-Tank Rifle mod has uh, a funny side effect...

I find it most funny because if you are not wearing power armor the recoil will break your arms...

I found this out when I was exiting the prydwen and heard some explosions going off. They are using explosive rounds too :v:
Seems a few initiates I have bumped into are using laser rifles but yeah... This is going to be an interesting once I get into the later story stuff.
-snip-
Where do you find the saves in fallout shelter? I'd like to give myself some lunchboxes.

They're apparently in the Triggerman leveled lists, too. I know this because during the mission to kill the Triggerman in the Goodneighbour warehouses, I peaked my head over the stairs and immediately exploded :v:

The best part is that on the Prydwyn, there's an event you can see where a Knight is ordering some scribe/initiate to shoot her in the chest to test her armor. Normally, he has a laser rifle.
In my game, the motherfucker had a 20mm AP/HE Anti-Power Armor Rifle. He shot her SIX times with it. She was screaming in pure fucking agony and staggering all over the place, ended up a full 30 feet back from where she started just from the knockback.
She didn't die, but only because she was hard-scripted not to. All her armor pieces popped like corn kernels and she said something along the lines of, "Thanks! Suit is working great."
What suit?
Every time i see that sequence the initiate has a fiery laser rifle so the knight is screaming in agony whilst being set alight.

two questions
1. how do you do that
2. will fallout shelter only be downloadable if i have the bethnet launcher thing installed, or are there plans to move it somewhere else eventually?
Open them. All of them.
It took me about half an hour to open 30 of them. This is how I die.
The more I play Fallout 4, the more I think how good a New-Vegas-style spinoff would be. It's such a solid base as far as the actual gameplay goes; and developers doing a spinoff would presumably have enough manpower/access to actually change the bits that modders can't.
New Vegas was such a strange fluke. I mean, it was announced the April after Fallout 3's October release.

Weird bug in Fallout Shelter today.
I couldn't complete the quest because one raider refused to acknowledge he was dead.

Saw $20 Power Armor and (Male) Sole Survivor figures at a local F.Y.E.
Was this close to buying the power armor one but then I realized I didn't have $20 to blow.

The mysterious stranger appears in your vault very often since the update.
If you click on him before he vanishes you get a random amount of caps.

I don't understand why anyone would ever buy an action figure of the default player.
The fallout 3 one wasn't too bad because most fallout 3/nv characters didn't really have faces so there's more room for interpretation with the figure... But why would I want a figure of a generic nord male in iron armor? Or a figure with default Nate's incredibly punchable face?.

i saw him appear at my vault entrance when raiders were attacking so i thought he was supposed to help
nah you gotta click on him before he disappears and you get a bunch of caps

Have you seen this thing?
Totally worth the Nate.
Ah man that's so cool, but I still think it being the default guy ruins it, at least for me.
[sp]I Hate Nate.[/sp]
is there a mod that removes that weird grid thing from the pause and loading screens?
Okay, last hurdle for compatibility for that visible holstered weapons mod is converting my static mesh to a skinned one. Would anyone be willing to help me with this? If I can't find a tutorial or someone to help I'm just going to push that feature to the next update.

When I heard that ominous stinger for the first time, I thought shit was about to hit the fan. It didn't help that something bad would happen (raider attacks, failed rushes, random incidents, etc) almost all the time.

Bethesda has proven they can make a solid base game design. Skyrim's combat wasn't great but it was a lot more visceral and better-flowing than the combat in Oblivion, and Fallout 4's combat essentially blows the stiff and awkward shooting in Fallout 3 and New Vegas out of the water. The problem is everything else, from the stories and characters, to the RPG elements and player depth, to the level and world design, has suffered more and more. Comes with the limits of world design due to having better graphics, and lots of voice acting, but no one asked nor wanted a talking protagonist, especially with how badly it was pulled off.
Obsidian's world and story style could make good use of FO4's core mechanics (though they'd never touch the series again probably after the NV fiasco), and who knows, maybe they'd even create quest combat areas that actually make good use of the system instead of Bethesda throwing bullet sponges mindlessly at you irregardless of the environment. I think that's the biggest problem for FO4 for me, the combat improvements mean little when outside of shooting raiders and mutants, it never even takes advantage of it despite it being the most frequent element of the game (for most).
