Yeah I assumed as much. I'm partly dreading having to learn PBR shit so that I can port my models into the game. ...Dude, what? 1.) It's post-postapocalypse, and 2.) those aren't mutually exclusive. I don't understand this need to remain within a strictly defined genre. And besides, medieval stasis is a downright cancerous trope. Alright, well I can agree with this. It's already sort of ridiculous when you consider what I mentioned a few pages ago; it wouldn't be so much of a problem if Bethesda didn't absolutely insist on advancing the timeline every time. If they were able to get their heads out of their asses on that policy and just set game after game in different areas at the same time (like one in Denver in 2277, one in New Orleans in 2277, one in Chicago in 2277, etc.) then they wouldn't have to faff about with this problem. I don't think they need to reboot either, just not be so fricking dogmatic.
A few posts after that one I made a similar guess. Either they reboot the whole thing (because everyone loves rebooting the classics, right?), or they start making games earlier in the Fallout timeline. I absolutely agree that breaking out of the genre and exploring new settings would be more interesting, but companies like Beth are incredibly conservative with established franchises like this one, and so are a lot of the fans. I seriously doubt the next Fallout RPG will be anything other than about a person emerging (probably from a vault) into the post apocalyptic ruins of a major American region. Not that I wouldn't love playing a Fallout where you're a rookie police detective teaming up with an ancient Valentine to solve crimes in the bustling Diamond City metropolitan of the future. [editline]22nd June 2016[/editline]
Just a spare fusion core. Need to save those 4 pounds.
There's a mod in LL called Plugs of the Commonwealth. I hate that I know that.
Fallout 4 companions are essential. Also companions in power armor will actually try to take bullets for you, which is pretty neat.
companions in power armor will ruin that power armor. i think i remember doing a run across the north eastern part of the map with fuckin valentine of all people in a suit of power armor and he managed to break every single piece by the time we ended up at the ghoul farm they all have shit weapons and shit AI, so they just break it too quickly
...Either they reboot the whole thing...
if that ever happened (not that i think it will) i'd pop a testicle
They pretty much did reboot the thing. Fallout 3 is a reboot in every way but name, except they didn't capitalize on this fact and set it earlier back in the timeline.
Anyone happen to know of a mod that forces a raider attack? There's one on the nexus, but it's just scripts. I could use that, but if anyone knows of a way that's just an .esp or somesuch? It'd be nice for example, if you could make something akin to the recruitment broadcast tower, but one that just transmits taunts to a random faction, causing them to show up. "Hey Raiders, you shits couldn't raid wet tissue paper! Prove us wrong, come to Sanctuary!" Or some such.

The closest you'll get is with the Settlement Management Software mod, which has a function that might trigger an attack on your settlement, but for me it hardly ever works. I really wish a proper settlement raiding mod would come out soon, because I've only seen raids happen about three times in my hundreds of hours of play.
bondage rope on nexus front page wow
bondage rope on nexus front page wow
The Nexus is practically a fetish site, a tamer version of Loverslab. There seriously needs to be a competitor for it that doesn't allow dumb shit like that.
Oh, hey. Thanks, Japan!
Strange things happen when I sleep. This must be a synth plot.
lmao is that a fucking dildo stuck up her vag
Pretty sure its the buttplug mod someone made, has the amazing ability to give you perks depending what you choose to ram up your characters ass, shoving a fusion core up there makes them last twice as long for example. Loverslab makes some fucked up shit but it is fucking hilarious.

So you could rain your tits of magic by shooting magic out of your nipples. Also, Fallout 3 has been crashing A LOT. Anything I can do to mitigate it, I've only been adding mods and I'm not sure if other options are available like ini tweaks.
Can anyone remember where that radioactive dust-effect is in the game? It's like little floating bits of radioactivity, green luminous dust-mote style. Trying to find the effect in the creation kit but I can't remember where I actually saw the effect :/

Just never go to the mojave if you just want Fallout 3. If you're concerned about mods, all NV mods work (but obviously the ones that only change stuff in the mojave wouldnt make any difference) and most of the big and good F3 mods were converted to TTW on their forums
TTW For real. Fallout 3 on TTW run smooth like a baby
Don't have the disk space right now. My second drive died ages ago and I've not gotten around to getting a refund. It lasted only a few months.
Also, Fallout 3 has been crashing A LOT. Anything I can do to mitigate it, I've only been adding mods and I'm not sure if other options are available like ini tweaks.
The best thing to do is to modify your mod load order, possibly get rid of any that may be making the instability worse, and also change your graphics settings. Fallout 3 is on the worst iteration of gamebryo, and it was a hell of a lot worse around release (I ran it on the lowest possible settings, at a lower resolution, but it still froze and crashed my computer every 20 minutes.) why not look around for a VA to revoice Preston.

Because the Japanese actually make some pretty cool stuff sometimes.
I've been playing survival mode so far. I think it is really fun, for the most part. Actually have a reason to cook stuff and manage resources a little bit now is interesting, doesn't change much but it gives the game some soul now. The saving at beds is a solid idea, too. Makes you sort of move from area to area really carefully in the early game, and you have to look for a bed to save at. The Illnesses and status effects are annoying sometimes, but I guess it's done as well as bethesda could be expected to do. My favorite part by a large margin is the way damage is handled. The Metro ranger mode-esque way you do more damage and take more damage is the way it should usually be done, I think. I was sort of disappointed that dealing with crippled limbs is as easy as using stimpaks (which I still have a retarded surplus of) and not replaced by something similar to doctors bags.
I hope someone didn't secretly beat me to the punch on this one, but here it is, a workbench where you can fill up your empty bottles 1 at a time, 10 at a time, or 25 at a time. No more standing around spamming E or sitting at the water pump.
Something something
Survival is certainly better than what we had before but I don't agree with the way they did it, debuffs are tasteless and happen so suddenly.. then you can bring yourself from the brink of death by drinking 8 nuka colas, 10 steaks and 12 hours of sleep, its a bit ridiculous. Oh boy here we go, wall of text. I would have preferred small bars near AP with Thirst, Hunger and Sleep levels and a Bar with Wellness below HP to move away from annoying event pop-ups and menus to see your condition. Wellness would be your overall condition, affecting the damage you Receive, it would go up and down slowly based on how you take care of yourself so you can't engulf a continental breakfast and hibernate your problems away. If Wellness reaches 0 you die. Thirst would lead to... absolutely nothing, until it becomes Dehydration (being a whole day, day and half without drinking) then you'd have issues with aiming attacks, both regular and VATS. The more dehydrated you are the slower you move (reduced speed multiplier) Two and half + days should have a terrible effect on aim, a head cripple effect like Fallout 3 and the inability to Sprint or Jump, running around should go a bit faster than walking by then. Varying levels of dehydration debuff your wellness, until after 3 and a half days you simply drop dead. Hunger would be a bit more simple and primal, it takes a really really really long time to actually die of starvation so the purpose of hunger is to keep your wellness up, but if you let it go nothing much comes of it except weakness (Strength, Endurance and Perception Debuffs) after 1 week it starts taking a toll on your Wellness, Carry Weight and AP (Fatigue) Sleep affects your Fatigue, Immune system, Intelligence and makes you a moody bitter old hag (Insomnia = Charisma nerfed to the ground) it's also important to maintain wellness. I would say t's a lot more abstract than the other needs, some people can stay awake more than others, some evens weeks - but those who have stayed up for more than 3 whole days while performing daunting tasks which stress and require concentration have died. So about that. Finally Adrenaline, changed from a stupid buff which makes absolutely no sense (Edgelord, the Sole Survivor gains more damage the more he kills YEEEAH) - into a tool needed to stay alive, Adrenaline triggers in situations where you must have it and fighting while weakened is one of them! When wellness is below 35% engaging combat would trigger Adrenaline, allowing you to fight and move with full speed and strength in order to survive (you still take more damage the lower your wellness is) but accelerating the rate at which your other needs decay. So that would be my take on it, if I knew how. Sadness.
To be fair though, fusion cores shouldn't emit radiation since they use fusion rather than fission.
ya but i always kind of thought the microfusion cells used for lasers were just supercapaciters, after all you can charge them. also preston says its a nuclear battery not necessarily actually a fusion core. Just like Mass Fusion's "fusion" reactors are really big poorly shielded fission reactors, it could all be a marketing ploy
I'm sure this has been posted before but a modder by the name of EdibleGrenade12 is making bioshock themed power armor. Here's Shoddycast on the subject. Here's an even better one from r/falloutlore. And some more, from the same guy. It actually makes more sense that these are actual fusion cells rather than capacitors or radioactive fuel rods. Regular batteries would have long since discharged yet you can still see electrical devices like lights and terminal that are fully powered. And if power cells were in fact fuel rods for a power armor's onboard fission reactor you'd have to also pack in room for a bigass steam turbine in there because that's how you convert fission heat into electricity. Also deadly radiation, obviously. [editline]22nd June 2016[/editline]
Is that website the Dragonporn.com of Fallout 4? They mostly showcase Nexus (and the occasional LL) mods, though with excellent pictures and videos.
man, the next map pack for black ops 3 is shaping up.
well presumably their nuclear tech does not use nuclear power indirectly with steam and instead uses very powerful thermoelectric or direct conversion of neutron radiation to electricity, both are possible
