Because [url=http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/62083/?]this thing[/url] is, as far as I can tell, a bunch of Halo 3 models with godawful decal textures messing it all up to try and cover up that they're ports. I could be wrong, but I played enough Halo 3 (and seen enough model ports for Garry's Mod) that it looks like ports to me at least.

Well there was a master chief armor in Skyrim that's still on the workshop that you can craft right off the bat with strips of leather and an iron ingot that jumps your levels up from 1 to 17 on crafting alone :v:

I reported the guy using that image btw. They said I had to make a comparison image. I could have gone further and compared the meshes and textures since I have some halo 3 models in the source engine, but I'm lazy.

The pouches aren't poorly retextured (well they sorta are), they are just using the chestplate texture because the guy didnt know how to properly port the armor. The visor is fucked up in the same way

The only difference between between the model in the mod and the model from Halo 3 is that the mod's version uses a version of the texture resized to 8192x8192 with a bunch of shitty stains.

Honestly, it's more that he was one of the first people to create settlement mods that added items that weren't just straight recycling vanilla assets. A lot of the stuff he did was still based on the vanilla assets, but at the time I don't think there were many mods that added the sorts of things he did.
I've still got a copy of "Infinite Settlement Budget No Console No INI Final Destination" or whatever string of nonsense he called it

To be fair, some of the mods he made were useful, and it always sucks when someone with good mods gets banned and those files are no longer accessible. It's a bit of an awkward situation.
I'm happy with the Nexus mods for being transparent about it, personally.
