Okay, I'm finally fucking done installing all the mods (like 60 of them) and now when creating a new character, I stumbled across something pretty amazing.
So, some months back, before DLC's got out (I only bought the pass yesterday), I made a character named "Donald Trump" but Codsworth only recognized the "Donald" part so he always said "Mister Donald" ... Oh well.
However, now after installing all the fucking mods and DLC and creating a new "Donald Trump", Codsworth just referred to me as "Mister Trump" as I'm in the Pre-War part of the game, but.. I think Bethesda added "Trump" to Cod's after release at some point. Could it be?
I swear if they stop updating the game after nuka world and that fricking lever action bug is still in there...
I've always been a bethesda fanboy but that will be the "they just didn't care" tipping point for me.
What lever action bug?
If you are talking about the fact that you have to reload all bullets it's just because bethesda is lazy, and it won't be fixed because if they were too lazy to do it in the first place they probably won't care to redo it in an update :pudge:
Well, maybe they might do it, because they did add a new survival mode. People just gotta bitch enough and they'll probably do it. Albeit half ass-edly.
Especially considering it turned out that most of the season pass was dedicated towards content involving building more settlements instead of experiencing more story.
I think they just noticed "hey, Fallout 4 settlements are a meme", and completely misinterpreted why they were a meme in the first place
I swear if they stop updating the game after nuka world and that fricking lever action bug is still in there...

It isn't a bug, Beth just didn't make a unique reload animation for it.
It isn't a bug, Beth just didn't make a unique reload animation for it.
It's not even the animation (that would be incredibly easy for them to do), the game doesn't support the sort of reload that people want for it, and I suspect that Bethesda didn't want to create a new reload system for a single weapon in a DLC.
It's not even the animation (that would be incredibly easy for them to do), the game doesn't support the sort of reload that people want for it, and I suspect that Bethesda didn't want to create a new reload system for a single weapon in a DLC.
If they weren't willing to make it look good, they shouldn't have added it at all.
(radiant quest nightmare, attacking NPCs spawning inside houses or on roofs instead of outside the walls, settlers getting stuck outside or on top of things etc)
None of these are really problems inherent with settlements themselves. The unavoidable radiant quests was a dumb decision that could've been solved by simply (or not, I don't talk to Preston enough to know what his dialogue tree looks like. If it really comes down to it, the shit 4-way dialogue might be the core issue here, but that's a conversation for another day) adding a dialogue option to trigger it, and the NPC spawns could've just been placed further out so they start their attack just outside of the settlement build ranges. I suppose the settlers getting stuck is a bit different because that's just good ol' Bethesda pathfinding mixed with player-placed platforms and walls and stairs and that shit's a recipe for disaster and I'm surprised it works as well as it does right now.
However if given the choice between a post apocalyptic game about building towns and one like New Vegas I definitely prefer the direction of the latter.
I can agree with this, but I honestly don't feel that settlements are big enough of a deal and fleshed out enough to consider them a rival to the Fallout formula. Like, the three instances I know of where you're forced to mess with the workshops are 1.) the beginning of the game after rescuing the minutement, 2.) that one railroad(?) quest where you have to clear out that tiny alleyway and throw up defenses, and 3.) the [sp]build a teleporter[/sp] quest to continue the MQ. That first "help the settlement" quest you get can be solved by taking a sawn-off and killing the two settlers, so I'm not counting that.
I particularly hate the entire legendary schtick myself and i know i'm not the only one.

personally I found the legendary drop system to be the most lackluster part of the game. Most legendary items I've looted over 300+ hours of gameplay are absolutely worthless, and it seems like the best way to take advantage of the system is to farm enemies, which is the last thing I want to be doing in a Fallout game.
I didn't say the system was good by any means, I said that people don't blame it for the story being trash.
Like I agree with you, the only thing I've found that legendary weapons are good for is selling them for extra cash because I haven't really ever gotten any sort of useful drop from them, but unless you can show me some people going "this is the reason Bethesda can't write and/or this is the reason none of your choices matter" I'm not arguing with you, just stating facts.
And the walk-away conversations were a good idea but ended up doing more harm than good during the game because of how often the conversations end up without you wanting them to
This has honestly never happened to me aside from like one Vertibird deciding to fly over during a conversation, so I'm not going to pretend that I think it's commonplace by any stretch of the word. I don't know how you play your game by comparison to me, so maybe it is an issue for you, but in any case, the same goes for what I said about legendary drops: nobody's blaming the ability to hold W, A, S, or D and exit a conversation for the dialogue and story themselves being bad (as far as I'm aware, maybe it's a massive controversy or something on reddit. I don't check there).
I'm assuming this is a rather long post so I apologize, I tried to trim the quotes down a bit to shorten it.

Maybe they shouldn't have thought about it that way and thought about it more as a modder's resource to increase the game's longevity?
If they weren't willing to make it look good, they shouldn't have added it at all.
If they didn't add it people would be saying "Wtf bethesda no lever action????"
At least with it in game there's a chance that a modder might be able to address the issue down the line
I think Bethesda added "Trump" to Cod's after release at some point. Could it be?
They did add a lot of new names a while back.
However, "Trump" was in the game on launch because Donald Trump's brother is the president of Zenimax or something like that.

I don't buy this worth shit, I don't believe that it's because the game doesn't support being able to not reload every shot instead of 1.

I'm not sure if it was in the game at launch, but many of the major investors in Zenimax do have their names in the game, and Donald's lesser known brother, Ronald Trump, who is so obscure that he doesn't have a Wikipedia page or many pictures online, is an investor of Zenimax media.
I don't buy this worth shit, I don't believe that it's because the game doesn't support being able to not reload every shot instead of 1.
Less that the game doesn't support it, more that it doesn't have it built in yet and Beth didn't feel like coding in a big addition to reloading for a single weapon in a single DLC (which could cause issues with mods depending on how deep they'd need to go into the code to add that).
Also reloading like that was kinda buggy in previous games, though I never minded much.

I could've sworn the lincoln repeater had bullet by bullet reloading but apparently not. The character just sprinkles in invisible dust down the barrel and that magically transforms into .44 rounds for your gun to fire.

Repurposed bb gun animations, though it isn't as blatantly incorrect like Far Harbor's.
Repurposed bb gun animations, though it isn't as blatantly incorrect like Far Harbor's.
It kinda is, if you were using a tube-fed weapon like how the Lincoln's Repeater is set up, you'd have to pull out a spring that pushes the bullets down the tube into the chamber that either locks or screws in place once loaded. They just made it so it dropped bullets in like BB's :v:
I thought the LW gives the Spirit of Lincoln that's now in the gun a little stroke under the chin like a kitty cat and that makes it want to fire hitscan projectiles again.

People were too busy being mad about pretty much anything else in the game to notice the hard to find unique weapon hidden in at the end of a dungeon nobody thought to check.

Here's the English patch for N.V. Weapons for FO4.
Just download the original mod, then replace the .esp with mine. If anyone encounters a bug, feel free to list them and I'll address them.

You sure about that?
Cuz I had used the same name, but Cods picked the Donald-part, like months ago. This time he picked the Trump-part, which I'm very happy with. But if you say so..

Anyways, I'm gonna build the biggest and absolutely coolest Trump Tower you guys have ever seen, I shit you not
Then perhaps it's time to retake the castle, finish the rest of the single-player story, plus story DLC's..

Uhh, not sure if this was well known, but here's a mod to throw rocks at your enemies.
Yo, I'm not sure why nobody is posting in this thread, but does anybody know what would be the issue of blood-splatters disappearing on NPC bodies as soon as they appear?
So when you shoot either a dead body or a live NPC in the chest, a blood splatter will appear, then quickly disappear. Wonder why?
Making a new save despite getting 60 odd hours into Survival and not even reaching Far Harbor yet, game got pretty damn screwy when I threw a ton of mods on it mid play.
Is there any way to make large settlements run better? I have a 970 and my 2 floor treehouse fort runs at a solid 30fps
The game takes an absolute dump when I look in its general direction, I can't tell if 1 certain thing is lagging or the game just hates all of it in general

where is this treehouse located? depending on whether its a undisclosed location or somewhere in the middle of the city would probably be a factor in your FPS taking a dump. also, there are ways to give FPS boosts through the fallout.ini files and the graphics settings in general. I have a 960 and even I drop at times in certain locations just due to how big the area is in detail.
