People were too busy being mad about pretty much anything else in the game to notice the hard to find unique weapon hidden in at the end of a dungeon nobody thought to check.
want some pepper with that salt
Is there any way to make large settlements run better? I have a 970 and my 2 floor treehouse fort runs at a solid 30fps The game takes an absolute dump when I look in its general direction, I can't tell if 1 certain thing is lagging or the game just hates all of it in general
I can tell you that with a 1070, none of this is really a problem anymore. :v: However, there are STILL locations and scenes in the game where looking at one direction is a rock-steady 60 FPS, then moving your mouse an inch to the left and FPS drops to like 50 or something on this beast of a card. FO4 cannot cease to amaze.
You sure about that? Cuz I had used the same name, but Cods picked the Donald-part, like months ago. This time he picked the Trump-part, which I'm very happy with. But if you say so.. [editline]1st August 2016[/editline] Anyways, I'm gonna build the biggest and absolutely coolest Trump Tower you guys have ever seen, I shit you not Then perhaps it's time to retake the castle, finish the rest of the single-player story, plus story DLC's.. [editline]1st August 2016[/editline] Jesus Christ, what am I ever gonna do with my Codsworth [editline]1st August 2016[/editline] Uhh, not sure if this was well known, but here's a mod to throw rocks at your enemies.
Adult content, what?
The rock throwing link is adult content..?

About the blood splatters on NPC's and the player disappearing on me, it fixed itself by restarting the game. It's this blood texture mod in question. I remember reading somewhere that loading a few times during your entire sessions is a good way of making sure the blood decals on actors will disappear. Fucking Great..
where is this treehouse located? depending on whether its a undisclosed location or somewhere in the middle of the city would probably be a factor in your FPS taking a dump. also, there are ways to give FPS boosts through the fallout.ini files and the graphics settings in general. I have a 960 and even I drop at times in certain locations just due to how big the area is in detail.
Its in the middle of Spectacle Island, I haven't even filled the whole island, its just 1 spot with Fort 30fps

Y'know, people posting their "fixed" stories for Fallout 4 a little while back got me thinking about the kind of spin-off game I'd make if I had the chance - something using the existing mechanics (like New Vegas was with Fallout 3) and tying them into the overall plot in a more satisfying way. I wound up writing stupid amounts for it, because I'm a LOSER. The player character would, again, be someone pre-war. Rather than being frozen, they’re someone who’s been “copied” into a Vault computer, in the same was that [sp]Nick Valentine[/sp] was, through winning a competition. That way they can be ignorant of the post-war world and ask the normal questions, while still being basically a blank canvas. At the start, the player is downloaded into a body (obviously customizable – either male or female since it’s separate from the voice/mind) through something similar to a memory lounger. That way, you've got a reason to let the player have a range of male/female voices to chose from. The vault contains a small group of robots who are supposed to assist the vault dweller, all with a “corrupted” copy of their personality/mind/voice (corrupted because we don’t want their dialogue to set the player’s past/personality in stone). The robots would explain that the body the player occupies is a “courtesy” one, someone that stumbled near the vault by accident and was mind-wiped. The body that they should have used was a clone of the character’s original body (a' la' GARY). However, the vault was breached and the DNA/Blood samples were stolen. Since the robots are desperate to complete their orders, they ask the player to go and find the blood samples. This could be ignored or completed, as it would serve mostly to add breadcrumbs to the map so that the player could find the important locations. The world outside the Vault would be an oasis of “clean” land in the middle of an area similar to the Glowing sea. It's the only real safe spot between two other big areas, meaning that (of course) people are fighting to control it. Two big groups – one modelled after Communism (bad living conditions, officials living in opulence, but industrial and well-fed (so not too historically accurate lol)) and the other modelled after Democracy (rotting infrastructure so no electricity/brown-outs, discriminating against ghouls etc. but has a justice system and a free market). Both are ideologically opposed to each other, and either could use someone who can magically solve everyone’s problems with the help of plot armour… Obviously the Brotherhood of Steel is there because they always bloody are, wanting to use the place as a resupply post in a dangerous area – low on troops, their plan is to wait out the fighting until only one group remains, and overrun the survivors. They’ve got their own internal problems, being barely able to defend their positions with a lack of soldiers, power armour and weapons. They’d probably be open to donations from someone finding power armour frames all over the damn place… Then, because it’s nice to have options, there’s the people who actually live in the area. The outlying settlements having been taken over by the two factions, there’s only one city in the middle that is still independent. It exists mostly on trade, the food/item producing settlements having been taken over by the two factions. This’d be a good reason to actually have the settlement building system in the game, since you building new places to produce food/water would stop the city being dependent on cooperating with the invading forces. Who knows, maybe if they were fortified, with solders being recruited, the different sides in the conflict could be forced out bit-by-bit… The player’s personal plot would wind through the map, leading to the revelation that they’re not the only human version of themselves out there – there’s a whole settlement of the bastards, all put into bodies by the robots in the Vault. Turns out the blood samples were stolen years ago, and whenever the robots don’t hear back from a copy of the player they just make a new one. The copies got tired of tracking them down, but the reason for the theft can be found out - there's a Vault-Tec/Military facility in a part of the Glowing-Sea area which uses DNA as a key - and only the DNA of original Vault-Tec employees. As a competition winner, guess what? The player got added to the database. Through some intermediate points, the player finds the facility, and discovers that there's some prototype nuclear weapons - launchable canisters that can spread nuclear particles through a gas. Turns out it was a ghoul that stole the DNA - someone who isn't reichous or philosophical, just really really wants to kill people. Plus, if the weapons are used, the only safe spot in the local nuclear hell-hole becomes uninhabitable. Since he's spent years trying to get the player's DNA to unlock the facility, he's pretty crippled and stuck - it needs to be run through a machine that can sequence the stuff first. Where can that be? Well, the place that can clone shit, duh - the Vault the player came out of. Problem is, since he broke in and triggered the security systems, the Vault's security defenses are primed (something that would have been established earlier) - he'd be even more torn to shreds if he got anywhere near there. This is where the player has one of the Big Choices - they can give the DNA to the robots, who would then clone a new, "Final" copy (customizable , maybe?) who can be used as a companion/plot point for something else. OR; the robots can be ignored (and probably destroyed) to get the DNA sequencer and find the key. Then the player can open the facility, access the weapons, and either go with the ghoul and fuck shit up or kill him and have the superweapon as a bargaining chip. The second option would basically be the "Independent" option, either done agressively ("I fucking own all of you now") or peacefully ("Stop your shit or I swear to god"). Kinda convoluted in places (not really satisfied with the Ghoul bit) and I think some of the points are a little dumb, but at least it makes about as much sense as Fallout 4 does. Now that I look at it, it's probably an optimistic number of endings, but hey that's what people want right? Also, in my mind it still has the four-way speech options, but in a way that branches out (select one option, get three sub-options with a back button). Might as well make it consistent-ish.
want some pepper with that salt
What salt ? I'm just stating what happened back in 2008. People railed on the game for everything it had to offer and only stopped when Skyrim came out due to the weird effect Bethesda has on people, wherein every new release gets ripped apart and the previous release suddenly becomes more appreciated or not as poorly considered.
If they weren't willing to make it look good, they shouldn't have added it at all.
Alternatively, they could've designed a fucking weird-looking one with a magazine. Coulda been cool.

I wish you could hire gunners to clear settlements for you to build in.

I started with Oblivion instead of Morrowind and never ran magic builds or anything, so I personally didn't really lose much in the transition from Oblivion to Skyrim. Basically, there has never been a point where I hated Skyrim, but Fallout 4? I've played it about half of the time that Steam's actually tracked me in Skyrim (there are plenty of hours missing, believe me), and I don't really have any motivation to put in any more. I haven't even finished the MQ, started any of the DLC. I mean maybe there's a shift in the community as a whole but as far as a per-game personal basis, the fact that it's no longer the most recent game is irrelevant to me.
any reason why in new vegas setreputation doesn't seem to work at all i.e: Powder Gangers are still hostile even if I try setting reputation to Idolized and infamy value to 0. Just want to complete I Fought The Law.
I wish you could hire gunners to clear settlements for you to build in.
I always found it odd the gunners just automatically hate your ass it seemed like they'd be somewhat friendly to potential clientele/recruits If I recall right they only attacked randomly in FO3 if you kept having high karma for some reason
Alternatively, they could've designed a fucking weird-looking one with a magazine. Coulda been cool.
I mean we're living in the retro-future, I'm surprised there aren't more weird weapon attachments.

Pretty sure both mods are way past their shelf life update wise and the gore mod, which is rather unstable, holds your saves hostage if you uninstall it.
Its in the middle of Spectacle Island, I haven't even filled the whole island, its just 1 spot with Fort 30fps
good name for the fort :v: in all seriousness, does it could be the fort, or maybe the direction you look at the fort is also the direction of some details, say, the city across the water?

You join, get given a basic gunners uniform out of their levelled list, complete contracts, get your blood type tattoo and rise up in the ranks. If they really wanted them to come across as cut-throat scum, they could have rival gunner squads attempt to sabotage you and take credit for your contracts, Or even just have them order you to do something outright terrible once you become invested in the faction, with disobeying them making the faction hostile. The idea of being a uncompromising super-mercenary taking any job no matter how dirty for plenty of caps, or an ex-gunner stuck with a shitty tattoo and blood on your hands- out for revenge against your old bosses would have made for a neat little side plot.
