Is it known if they will be able to ship from withtin EU?
I managed around 7200 with a GTX 770 but I have a 970 coming in the mail. Hopefully that picks up the slack because I really can't afford to be throwing upgrades at my PC once I've bought the Rift. At least not for a while. :v:
I'm in a bit of an odd case. I have a 7850 and a R7 265 and a FX 8350. I managed to bring it up to 7800 with overclocking (I actually only managed ~7200 earlier) but it still isn't quite there. I could fool around with the settings more, like overclocking the processor up to 4.6 GHz, I'm not terribly familiar with the process. With all of that in mind, I probably will get the occulus but I expect to be on the low side of thing till I can upgrade later in the year. If nothing else, I can make use of my father's computer while he is away (either a 960 or 970 in it).

Old drivers? And when was the last time you formatted?
[t]http://pred.me/pics/2016-01-04_20-32-36.png[/t] http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10099668? oh boy, didn't expect my score to be that low on this system. seems common to be around 1000 on these specs, I wonder why I score below that
Your Graphics Score is fine (see result details), it's above my R9 290 as expected. However your physics score is barely over half mine (running a 4770K @ 4.3ghz). Maybe your CPU is clocking back because of heat or something? Might want to check that.
do I have to let it run more than once? 3D mark that is
Slow hard drive? Old drivers? And when was the last time you formatted?
it could be a slow HDD, but does that factor in on the benchmark? it's fairly old, 2009/2010 I think. all drivers are up to date. haven't formatted in a while though. I peaked at the CPU temperature displayed on my mobo while it was going, and I don't recall it ever going above 60c. maybe it never clocked up enough to begin with? if that's the case, I wonder why it isn't clocking up since it's not exactly hot.
Is it known if they will be able to ship from withtin EU?
if not, nobody's gonna buy it and it's gonna flop hard, so yeah probably
my score http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10100531? hell yeah :v: kinda dumb they say that dual 980's are "4k gaming rigs" and yet dual 970's can max gta5 out at 4k
I think I should take a look at my bios and a few other things, because for whatever reason I have a terrible combined score (2500) but a good physics (7700) and good graphics score (10000).
If it's not available in Norway I'll be pissed and dissapointed.

sounds like they have a large amount of units coming off the line, good to hear
I just hope preorders get it early :v:
i wonder if my 270x is bottlenecking my 4590
Slow hard drive? Old drivers? And when was the last time you formatted?
I don't see slow hard drive being a factor. It doesn't take loading times into consideration I think. Once it's loaded it's loaded.
Wait, you gotta buy the benchmark? Damn
The paid version only unlocks 4k resolution and multiple gpu tests. So download demo from steam & run the standard firestrike test. Also, 14k score on 980ti, think I'm ready for vr.

Checking it, it seems you have the same thing as PredGD, your 4670K isn't performing that well in the Physics Score (maybe my i7's hyperthreading doubles my score there?).
Your Graphics Score is fine (see result details), it's above my R9 290 as expected. However your physics score is barely over half mine (running a 4770K @ 4.3ghz). So, from Palmer's tweets we can pretty much confirm a huge Rift stock ready to roll, this makes it highly improbable to be a March release, I wouldn't be surprised if they shipped in late January / early February.
He should be able to get at least 4.0 GHz on stock cooling, if temps are fine that might be enough to put him over the edge.
Cooling is no problem for everything I have don't feel like I should overclock anything though. Both my GPU's can run under 50c with the right fan settings (max load), and my CPU has a giant metal cheese grater attached to it 4 giant fans will do that

My i7 4770k and GTX980 are ready. HIT ME.
I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about Pred who is slightly under par.
oh wow how AWKWARD
So, from Palmer's tweets we can pretty much confirm a huge Rift stock ready to roll, this makes it highly improbable to be a March release, I wouldn't be surprised if they shipped in late January / early February.
They've hinted repeatedly at shipping I'm January if you read between the lines in some interviews. I would be really surprised if people don't have their personal rifts by the end of the month.
He should be able to get at least 4.0 GHz on stock cooling, if temps are fine that might be enough to put him over the edge.
I know that I'm able to get to 4.3GHz, but if I recall correctly it's not 100% stable. if stress tested, it'll bsod, but it'll function well 99% of the time in graphically intensive games but there are times it bsod's there as well. 4.2GHz is pretty stable with okay temps, no idea why I reverted it. I think it was because I didn't want to put any unnecessary stress on the CPU since I felt there was very little performance to gain with my OC, it was more of a brag thing than anything. was I right or is there actually something to gain from a CPU OC? [editline]4th January 2016[/editline] hope they release the list of what countries will be in the pre orders before they open. I want to know if I should camp the pre orders page or not. I suppose I could pre order internationally as well, any idea how expensive that'll be? what do you have to pay extra? shipping and VAT?
my i7 920 2.6ghz shits itself if I try to overclock it at all I should mention that its idle temperature is, allegadly, 60ºC, and that's after I installed a pretty damn good cooler because with the stock intel cooler it idled at 90ºC I still think it's a problem with the temperature sensors because there's just no way that it reaches 60ºC that fast afer I turn it on.
