Months... Am I reading too much into this?
EDIT: Wait I'm retarded never mind.
Does anyone know what the max players per match in EVE Valkyrie is going to be? I've seen it stated as 5v5 in reviews, but hopefully that's just for the alpha..?
That just seems so pitiful for space battles!
Tested said they could do 10v10 in their interview.

He's talking about other consumer electronics/game companies that force you to preorder months in advance in order to secure pre-order bonuses.
i was wondering in the newer runtime's have they added the ability to flatten the mirrored output?if not i hope its included in 1.0 so you dont have to mess about using the shader for OBS
their preorder policy is very nice, oculus just keep it coming
definitely placing my preorder today then
i dont know if its worth preordering, i guess it depends what they have listed as release titles. it sounds like they have enough units that preordering isnt really required and the game i use my dk2 will be on 0.6 till march so itd just be a pain if i got a cv1

I'd imagine if they haven't, that's going to be a heavily requested feature after launch.
Anyone fancy some sort of group voice chat for us to hang out during the release and get hyped together?
Is £1,000 a good budget for a VR PC (not including a headset ofcourse)? What would you build on that budget? Or should I wait until about a month before VR HMD's ship to get better components or get them cheaper?
i think ideally you'd want a 980ti or equivalent of current gen cards so its better to wait for the next gen cards

Well that just proved what i already knew, i knew my pc was becoming a pile of crap quickly, but i hadn't realised how quickly it had happened.

That said, Oculus has been very specific about the minimum recommended specs, which includes the 970. And I'm sure that'll run a lot of VR content just fine, since that's the target Oculus is aiming for. It never hurts to have overhead, of course, and I'm sure that'll be helpful in non-Oculus games.
I'd wager most of the stuff in the Oculus store is going to target their recommended computers, though. So if you want to play stuff in the Oculus store, and you don't want any guarantee of external software working well, the 970 should handle things fine.

i dont think a 970 will be viable for long outside of vr specific titles even with just a dk2 mine struggles if i enable to many fancy settings
can you run that 3dmark test with just the demo version?

if they implement per eye sli thatd be really good for budget setups i think

Yeah you can :) I'm still really confused by the minimum and recommended specs though... Especially since they didn't really confirm the minimum specs.
Let's see if the store I reserved one from can get me one from this batch!
I left my reservation on 4th of December 2013. :v:
I just hope it isn't too insanely priced compared to other places, then I'll just have to leave it waiting for two weeks so it gets returned to shelves.
Technolust will be a launch title:

Actually a nice idea... what about a Facepunch VR Steam group? Could be used to meet up for multiplayer sessions too.
I'll get on that, along with the new thread that should go up within an hour of the pre-order launch.
Edit:

Under the two hour mark now.
Strangely quiet in here for a countdown.

Hard to chat when you can't breath from the hype.
I'm getting my dose of exercise from spamming F5.

Pfff, I've installed an auto-refresh extension for that extra lazyness. The future is now.
Love to get a rift, but I'm not sure my PC could handle it

My PC is around the 6500 mark for Firestrike. Getting one anyway. I'd rather have what I can get now, and upgrade later compared to waiting for both Rift and GPU (GPU is marked for Q2 / Summer 2016 release date).
There are bound to be less intensive VR applications I'd be able to run just fine.
I'm bored so I fucked around with Vivaldi's page filters. Now I can preorder the exclusive Oculus Rift Siberia V2

Also ONE HOUR LEFT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

It's a bit weird to still not know the price. I mean, technically it doesn't really matter but it would have been nice to have known it by now. I think a lot of people would like to give it some more thought.

Price will really determine on the spot buyers, large chunk of users will probably wait until its in the hands of reviewers etc.
