http://www.starvr.com/ this seems more like it :P
Does it? I'll hold off judgement until I get full specs and E3 impressions.
If huge companies with billions can't make a device with those specs even for testing, I don't buy this claim for a waxing. [editline]14th June 2015[/editline] Waxing = second Thanks phone
http://www.starvr.com/ this seems more like it :P
5K and large FOV are the only thing it really has going for it. No info about latency, refresh rate, rolling shutter/global display, low-persistence, let alone the weight and comfort. So I'm going to guess they're nowhere near the quality of the Rift and Vive.
with how readily people make claims over VR tech and demos with one-up 'fixes' that ignore the importance of latency and framerate of the experience within, I'd assume this is a one-trick pony with some hefty downfalls over other units

When the CV1 comes out I wanna see Jamie Hyneman trying it again.

Studio that made The Order: 1886 is working on a Rift-exclusive VR title http://venturebeat.com/2015/06/14/ready-at-dawn-creating-exclusive-vr-game-for-oculus/
Crytek just revealed their VR game: http://www.robinsonthegame.com/
Go beyond boundaries in Robinson: The Journey, a brand new virtual reality game from Crytek. Harnessing the power of CRYENGINE, Robinson: The Journey will offer players an unparalleled sense of presence in a game world as they assume the role of a young boy who has crash-landed on a mysterious planet. With freedom to explore their surroundings in 360 degrees of detail, players will become pioneers by interacting with the rich ecosystem around them and unearthing incredible secrets at every turn.
Dinosaur planet exploration yay!
Anything on system specs for it?
No info yet whatsoever :v: I don't expect we'll hear much until the devices themselves actually launch.

90% chance of aliens appearing half way through and ruining the game.
90% chance of aliens appearing half way through and ruining the game.
I never got people's problem with the aliens in Crysis. You'd think they weren't just as enjoyable to fight as the humans.
I liked fighting aliens in Crysis 2. The human fights had the extra spice of them calling stuff out and audibly communicating, though. "HE'S ARMORED!" sounds much better than some occasional squid noises.
The whole part that was fun in Crysis was throwing norks into explosive fueltanks.
Aliens sucked in Crysis because they turned a really cool open ended massive level game into a super linear one that had you going against enemies that were boring as hell to fight That said the part of Crysis where you went inside the mothership is still to this day one of the coolest levels ever made in a game to date. Sure not much gameplay but visually and thematically a super awesome location
I never got people's problem with the aliens in Crysis. It would've been even cooler if it wasn't on the back of the box and advertised beforehand. The problem with the second half though is the level design changes. I didn't mind fighting the aliens, but the thing is that those levels aren't as fun because how much more linear they get at that point. It turns from a giant open map with a bunch of different ways to play to a much more linear and directed shooter. [editline]15th June 2015[/editline] Oh. KorJax already said the same.
Overkill has a VR headset? And their Walking Dead game is a VR experience.
I wonder if oculus will have a "free game included" deal on Rift
I wonder if oculus will have a "free game included" deal on Rift
You will have a free game thought.

I didn't notice any when I got to try one, but the TV screen connected to it had pretty bad abberation showing.

The fact you don't see it means it's working.
What's a good thing to show someone just how immersive VR can be? Some of my mates don't see why they'd want to play with a VR headset instead of a regular monitor.
What's a good thing to show someone just how immersive VR can be? Some of my mates don't see why they'd want to play with a VR headset instead of a regular monitor.
with that mindset, they won't have the patience to sit down for an hour to understand it, or to watch immersive artsy things they'll just have to fuck off and try out the finished product with a finished game to get it through their dense heads
I mean hell one of them even said I'd be better off spending my money in a better mouse because a VR headset is "useless"
If you have a wheel show em a racing game.
let time and the universe prove their shortsighted asses wrong
