Nintendo's never been about innovating new technology, but instead refining old tech.
They've almost never tried to push any new tech out there. They've ALWAYS been about "Taking what works and making it better optimized and polished"
gyroscope aiming isn't innovative? Also there's no way Nintendo isn't going to jump right into VR. NX is going to be Super Virtual Boy just you wait
Considering how new the tech is it's very unlikely, and considering the Virtual Boy is pretty much one of their biggest failures ever, I doubt it.

What if it was that I was adding to your point? I can't agree by adding more input?
the Wii was a huge risk that paid off monumentally
they don't take risks often, but they do it more than sony/microsoft in hardware

"nintendo doesn't innovate"
"yes they do; here's examples"
"nintendo has never been about innovating"
yes very agreeable
Vive to be released this December, according to an indie dev:
"...but this will depend on where the game is when we get closer to the launch on the Vive which is currently scheduled in December."
Nintendo was the first major games company to use a touchscreen in a handheld games console. And for it, we have Elite Beat Agents. I'd call that innovative.
(Granted, Sega was supposed to beat them to it with the Game Gear, but touchscreens were expensive back then.)
The vive?
Yeah, you know exactly what i mean.
So what about it? Where are the videos of it, in action?
Yeah, you know exactly what i mean.

As far as I know, video of it doesn't exist. I'm not even sure they were on the E3 Showfloor.
EDIT: Well, guess I was wrong.
They weren't.

not much else, since Valve and HTC still aren't doing public demos and devs are either busy developing or don't record demo footages
That last one's a bit odd... Any idea why he can't accurately judge the depth of the orbs?

Holy fuck, Vive-based Gmod building would be totally fucking awesome if the controls were halfway decent.

interesting, but the game they were actually playing looked awful
I wouldn't pin the virtual boy, an invention by a guy who (I believe???) is long dead on Reggie.
I would call him out for saying it isn't social when splatoon doesn't have fucking voice chat and all nintendo related online social features since the Wii are still fucking crippled.
Nintendo's idea of social are a family spending time in the same room together, and OCCASIONALLY if you can't meet up at your friends house to play games allow them to play online to make up for it (remember the nightmare that friend codes were?). They are actively afraid of letting any of their fanbase loose online at the same level everyone else does it.
It's totally backwards. To Nintendo, online gaming isn't social at all, therefore stuff like VR (which takes out out of the room) isn't social either. This is why they have consistently been behind the curve and afraid of having deep online support for a huge chunk of their games, and almost all of their games instead have rich local multiplayer support.
Which you know what? That is alright. It fills a niche not many other games are doing. But still dumb to say its not social simply because their idea of social gaming is about a decade or two old.

I remember when garry got his first oculus and we were talking about it on skype and he fucking hated it, made him sick. He literally couldn't stand using it at the time, and that's why he didn't implement oculus support in gmod after getting the unit

yeah he was saying on twitter that no one on the team has felt motion sick on the vive, even him
the only way they could make it happen was turning off head tracking
+1 to the ~vive~
did he even have the DK2 though
good question

That's me! (in the chair)
did he even have the DK2 though
Yeah, I'd being using for a while now, although I don't think garry ever tried it. The Vive exceeds it in every way, even if you only consider seated gameplay. On top of that, I can't see myself choosing a seated only VR headset over a room based one. There's so much you can do with it.
What does Garry think of it?
[editline]19th June 2015[/editline]
the Vive
Of course the Vive is going to kick the DK2's teeth in in every way. A bit unfair trying to compare the 2 and deciding whether the Rift or Vive is better.

He did not
