Which is it, then? 2 or 4? Or 6 or 8 or 10?
2 or 4 at the same time on the same account, but obviously as woolio1 says, they can't check whether anyone's sitting next t oyou.
Why'd they allow ten people not to pay? That'd be incredibly stupid business-wise.
market it as friends watching movies together in a virtual living room, but from distant lands also lets users experience the netflix library, but only when their friend is around and willing, tempting them to just get their own subscription

I mean, I can only imagine the sites that'll pop up where can post whenever they're watching something so others can join in. 4 other friends would make sense, but more than that... I'm not sure.

Is there impressions comparing the Vive to the CV Rift yet? Also, how much would a laptop run you that can play the Oculus? I think having a portable machine with an Oculus is going to be a must have, so you can show it off to people. My bedroom is pretty small and I wouldn't like having to bring my PC to peoples houses to play the Rift
Yeah that laptop doesn't exist yet

Averages out to the same price, but they're a third of the size and weight of an ATX full-tower. And there are no power compromises in the mITX form factor, so you get full performance.
It just means lugging around loads of cables and it is a bit of hassle. I'm sure you can have a laptop to play games decently on the Rift? I mean I could use the DK1 alright on a Y580. I know the CV is going to require more power but you don't actually need a 970 to play it at all would you?

Not all VR games are gonna need the recommended specs.

May as well have a setup that performs well. With Oculus Home, you won't need a monitor as long as you don't have a password on your user account, since you'll be booting right into it. It's not unthinkable that you could build a dedicated machine for it.
You WILL need a 970 if your purpose is to show it off. You need 90+ frames constantly. 970 sells for a great value.
I have a 970 for my current pc, just will be hassle bringing it places ha. Do you really need 90 fps though, is that just because of the new headset? Dk1 was okay at 30fps for short bursts, like just for people to try on or whatever
60 fps on dk2 made me instantly sick so yes
30 fps wtf You are NOT going to make anyone happy with that. Do it right or not at all.

I hate angry joe, but he tried out a morpheus horror game and it sounds really interesting. (Skip to 7m 48s)
[hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiZvF2bIBoE[/hd]
tbh VR is way too young to be doing this outside of price there is just no way this thing won't have MASSIVE, GLARING flaws also that looks very heavy
Digging the way the screen rotates down over the eyes, though.

You're going to make people think VR's still as broken as it was in the 90s, and probably put them off it entirely. Do it right, or don't do it at all.
I can't imagine thinking 30 fps is even a good idea at all but at least it's not as bad as claiming that the human eye can only see 30 fps 30 fps is such an extremely low number of frames per second. It's low enough that at that point you notice serious time gap every frame. You might as well count frames rather than play the game.
Holy shit I got a lot of disagrees ha. I'm not saying that it's good at all. Obviously I would love to have everybody come to my sweaty bedroom and play it beautifully on my 970 but it isn't going to work like that. When I showed demos to people on my laptop with the DK1 it was never running anywhere near 90 fps, usually half of that I would say, and everybody found it amazing. The only comment people made was about the screen door. But yeah I do want to have a solution that can be mobile while outputting high FPS.

Fact of the matter is laptops just can't produce the power required, at least not right now. It's why big stupid things like this exist.
Fair enough! My question was basically just asking if there are laptops that could use the Rift decently. I guess not then. I just wanted something for it because I brought the Rift to a family gathering at Christmas and it was awesome showing everybody.

Wait for benchmarks and consider that option. Otherwise, just have a setup that people can come to you to try out.

I see similar setups a lot at Dutch VR meetups.
That's something I will look into for sure. A 970 wouldn't be able to fit in a smaller case at all? I'm not too knowledgable with ATX cases and parts and all that stuff, but I would like to have a gaming PC in a smaller form factor

It accomplishes that by basically having the graphics card channel run the length of the case, and the motherboard mounted horizontally. They're a very small case, but still big enough to do what they need to. I'm actually considering one for my VR build, not for the portability, but just because it's enough. This is one of the most beautiful sets of pictures I've seen all day, and it's basically where someone's shoved a full-size 970 in a Prodigy.
I shoved my stuff in a Coolermaster Elite 130: Those Bitfenix ones are still quite big.
