Microsoft is working on the Hololens, but they haven't yet announced or even hinted at any kind of VR headset (the Hololens is AR). And it's not even meant for the Xbox really, more of a high price professional work thing. If you want a VR console get the PS4 w/ Morpheus in 2016.
have they used it with anything else besides minecraft at the moment?
Just tech demos.
that article is fucking horrendously written what the fuck does that mean? that is a nonsense sentence.
As a journalist, I say that man should be fired on the spot.
As a journalist, I say that man should be fired on the spot.
question, shouldn't an editor catch something like that too?

Isn't the Rift gonna be compatible with the Xbox One, due to their partnership with Xbox?
as far as anybody public knows, it's just a virtual living room with a big virtual tv that has your games on it
So it's like having a bigger, blurrier tv?
So it's like having a bigger, blurrier tv?
Yeah, only practical use i find is so that you can play games in a virtual room with a friend that's too far away to actually visit you or something Or i think that's possible anyway
I had a dream that I was friends with Palmer Luckey, and we were playing Star Citizen... Neither of those things will ever happen. EDIT: That feeling shouldn't have been there. Damn autocorrect.

More Job Simulator (Vive title)
I've been thinking about it, and I'm p sure what I will do is wait and get the Rift with the intention of getting Touch when it comes out. The Touch controllers are much more intriguing to me than Vive's controllers. PLus, I've waited this long for VR, I can wait a few more months for a device that I want more.
why isn't there development for markers on drink coasters so you can drink without everything taking off your goggles? huge oversight?
in a desk environment, you'll always be aware of your true facing direction in a standing environment, stopping for a drink means leaving the tracking range, in which case you ought to take the headset off anyway
Why would your desk be out of tracking range?
Why would your desk be out of tracking range?
I'm referring to standing environments (vive). No games are going to be made for standing at your desk in Oculus. It isn't made for that, and isn't a good experience.

You can't cram someone into a 2x2' square and expect things to work out.

As for the Vive, it depends on what the launch titles will be (what's Valve bringing?) and what the consumer hardware will look like. It's going be a small nuke in my savings account but I'll survive. At least my rig doesn't need any upgrades for the time being.
i think id prefer to get the vive but its a hard choice because the titles i want to use it on already have rift integration
i think id prefer to get the vive but its a hard choice because the titles i want to use it on already have rift integration
By the time the CV1 is out (if not probably shortly after) they'll probably support the Vive as well, since the Rift doesn't really have things the Vive doesn't (as far as I know at least)
I wonder if the HMDs themselves will have any significant image quality differences (vive vs CV1) given they both have the same refresh rate, resolution, and low persistence (if I recall correctly).
Optics are the biggest difference between the current Vive's and Rift's image quality afaik. Oculus is slightly better on that front but it's a very small difference.
Reminder that HTC also mentioned that the Vive will only be available online at first, probably in limited volume. I don't think that they'll have such a big head-start on Oculus as people would like to believe, although Oculus also has to prove they have what it takes to launch hardware worldwide early next year.

[editline]25th August 2015[/editline] so six of one, half a dozen of the other, really.
Is the Gear VR any good? I already own a note 4 but I'm not so sure about a $200 glorified phone holster.
Cool project for pretty much any kind of VR https://blendervr.limsi.fr/
