Ether One as my first VR experience and Fallout 4 (Map and compass turned off) as my 2nd, it'll be insane.
fallout 4?...
fallout 4?...
it's the upcoming sequel to Fallout 3.
it's the upcoming sequel to Fallout 3.
and as far as I know there's definitely not any VR support beyond a probably pretty awful vireio perception workaround or something
and as far as I know there's definitely not any VR support beyond a probably pretty awful vireio perception workaround or something
Yeah but who mentioned VR support? The guy just said he was going to get Fallout 4 work with VR, probably with a workaround like you mentioned.
Apparently Elite's CQC gamemode is as close to Valkyrie as you can get with a DK2 currently. Tons of fun so try it out if you got the stuff
CQC is pretty fun in its own right. I like Elite's combat and flight a lot.
I've been playing a lot of MGSV, and you actually got me thinking they added FPS combat in Elite. And now I'm disappointed again.
Yeah but who mentioned VR support? The guy just said he was going to get Fallout 4 work with VR, probably with a workaround like you mentioned.
what I'm saying is planning Fallout 4 as his second ever 'vr experience' is a terrible idea
Well that's what many wanna do. Play FPS even if the support is hardly there. Stalker for example but that shit got it code leaked so that will probably get fixed.
VR support for STALKER ain't happening any time soon trust me, but that's another issue anyway just saying, it's going to be a pretty shit second ever VR experience
I don't have high hopes for first gen 4K smartphones
Surprise surprise: the pixel fill rate looks terrible, thus the screen door when using this phone in a mobile headset would be baaaaad. It does have 4K resolution though. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_z5_premium_4k_display_under_our_microscope-blog-13887.php

Guess we're back to waiting for another display configuration.

We are IN the "more thought out, stronger resurgence." In fact, Bubbles and their subsequent busts are usually driven by much larger, economy scale forces. I really don't see it happening with VR, especially at this early stage. Plus, your opinion doesn't matter. The only way to tell whether this is spot on will be to revisit it in 5 to 10 years.

It's possible, but at this point vr has so much momentum that another bubble in the near future seems unlikely. Also I have to disagree; if the opinions of individuals didn't matter, we'd have no reason for a thread about VR, epsecially not one that's run for 2600 posts.
Just because we can voice our opinions and other people listen doesn't mean they matter. You're a tiny speck of dust in the universe.
Did it just get really edgy in here, or is it just me?
Did it just get really edgy in here, or is it just me?
Just a little bit, I think.

You can agree or disagree with the prediction, but that's different than saying "this is pretty spot on imo."
Was "UI designer" his position there? I'd believe it :v:
"UI Lead at EA Games" now he's "UI/UX Lead at Oculus VR" (UX being User Experience, basically quality-of-life regarding UI) here's his dead space demo reel
The song for that video is Robot Race - Senbei, if anyone was wondering.
Will from Tested (the guy making all the Oculus-faces in the video thumbnails at the bottom of the thread OP), is leaving Tested to start his own VR company: https://medium.com/will-smith/it-s-time-for-me-to-tackle-something-new-1f592b6022c7

It's getting rather competitive assuming that the consumer VR market actually becomes a thing.
Is it just me or is that just going to flop? It's getting rather competitive assuming that the consumer VR market actually becomes a thing.
Depends on what you make and how the market evolves. Companies like that live on investors for the first few years.
Is it just me or is that just going to flop? It'll get bought by an industry giant and Will will move on to the next thing.
Alright so this might have been asked before so apologies if I'm late, but what's the situation with VR on laptops? I go all over the place and do a lot of development so I really prefer to just have a laptop, but at the moment VR's demands mean that the only way you can really outperform the desktop 980 which most demos seem to use is a laptop with sli'd 980ms that costs $3600 :v:. Not only that, but the rift appears to intend to use an HDMI cable which is great because laptops actually typically have that, but I'm not sure if it will require HDMI 2.0 and whether or not that's actually supported on said laptops. At the moment I'm thinking I should wait for the 1000 series mobile GPUs to come out before upgrading my laptop so I can see what the VR situation is and how much better the next line of GPUs are but it'd be nice to hear if anyone's found out all the details.
