Yeah, I really wonder how people play this game on high level without addons. Tbh, they should just incorporate some addons into the game.
Unless PS4 can do something I'm not aware of, us PS4 users do it just fine without these addons.
Unless PS4 can do something I'm not aware of, us PS4 users do it just fine without these addons.
It's not that it's impossible to do, but managing status effects without some way of indicating what effects are up means you have to keep a timer in your head of when to re-cast your buffs/debuffs, unlike PC where addons can handle the timer and you just have to cast when the icon disappears.
God damn Veteran Ranks take FOREVER. I 100%'d Khenarthi's Roost and just finished out the beginning quests in Auridon and haven't got but like 10-15% for all of that :wideeye: [editline]Edited: [/editline] On the plus side I'm moving ever so slowly closer towards the Tamriel Hero title. Already got Covenant Hero
I wouldn't worry too much about it. They're adding 2 more veteran levels soon, but then around the end of the year, removing veteran ranks altogether (Hopefully the champion point system with it for PvP)
I forgot about bound items and dyed an armor set and now I'm kinda annoyed. Doesn't even make sense that they get bound, the dye isn't permanent.
So why are they doing that?
Because the Veteran Ranks are an INSANE grind. The reason they add 2 more Veteran ranks is to reset progress for the highest ranked people. The only problem is the champion point system which provides a literal statistical advantage over everyone. I could go into it more but Deltia from Deltia's Gaming made a pretty fantastic video explaining it Just for an average player to get from VR1 to VR14 it takes around 100 hours according to him. I found that was about true because of how long it took me to 100% all the quests in DC (which you have to do in Veteran Areas for any hope of leveling up). Also if you aren't familiar with the champion point system, basically about every time you would normally level up outside of Veteran Ranks you get a champion point that can be spent in one of the astral signs. Each point can be placed in a stat boost, the game divides these points three-ways into red, green, and blue. Red (The Warrior) = defense/health boosts (i.e. Rank 1 (1 point) Heavy Armor Focus in The Lord gives 1% more armor when a heavy set of armor (5 pieces or more) is equipped). Green (The Thief) = mobility boosts (i.e. Rank 1 Magician from The Tower reduces Spell Cost of Magicka by 1%). Blue (The Mage) = damage boosts (i.e. Rank 1 Elemental Expert from The Apprentice increases elemental damage [flame, frost, shock] by 1%). Not a huge buff, but when people start hitting upwards of 1,000 points they have >300 points in each of those they can place. Worse more is that the champion point system transfers to new characters, so my brand new level 1 starting out could have a 50% buff to elemental damage just because I grinded out a ton of champion points on a totally different character. This makes it so that people can smurf in PVP and is why Deltia and many others are pretty upset about it.
Maybe it's just me but once you reach max level it sounds like a better idea to just restart a new character in a new faction with a new role.
Maybe it's just me but once you reach max level it sounds like a better idea to just restart a new character in a new faction with a new role.
While that's true right now I'm hoping the removal of champion points and veteran ranks fixes the end-game because there's no way to get those champion points outside of Veteran Ranks. And those points give boosts to your other toons that give you a flat-out advantage over other players. The way I see it right now is if you want PvE content for a vast majority of your game then restarting is your best bet. The end-game consists of doing that anyway, but with the added benefit of being able to go to Craglorn and also do undaunted pledges. But if you want PvP then you should stick with the Veteran Ranks and grind it out so you can get that late-game gear and rack up the champion points.
The Champion point is really dumb. It should be either removed, or restricted to PvE/Veteran PvP, or even a PvP Campaign that has it uncapped I'm a level 12 Nightblade, was running around in a group, doing just as well as anyone else, 1v1 able to take a guy down like it ain't shit, but you can spot easily who has a shit load of CP's. Some players have so many champion points, I couldn't even scratch them. Not 5% worth of damage done in all my attacks, and then after they stomp me, continue tanking 7 players That's fucking stupid. If you thought Twinks were bad in WoW, holy shit you ain't seen nothin' Other than that it's all pretty freakin' sweet
I think it's bullshit that you can't travel to other provinces without basically beating the whole game first. And even then you can't even see lower level players.
I think it's bullshit that you can't travel to other provinces without basically beating the whole game first. And even then you can't even see lower level players.
That's apparently because since all 3 are at war and even though [sp]all 3 provinces band together at the end because of YOU[/sp] they couldn't allow for intermingling. Even in Craglorn you're still prevented from partying with other alliances. That's one of the dumb aspects of the game imo. Even if it is "canonical", you are segregating the population for PvE groups into thirds. Probably why the group finder can never find anyone
They're updating it soon so you can group up cross-faction
Spent half an hour defending a fort. Here's the beginning of the assault. After breaking through the outter ring, and before breaking into the inner walls. We managed to hold them and push them out and win the battle though. Ignore the butchering IMGUR does to PNG files, and my framerate. My poor Phenom 955 can't handle 70+ players that well [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/HAwYyHZ.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/O1OnSdO.jpg[/img_thumb][img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qp4W436.jpg[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/y5abF1j.jpg[/img_thumb] It's similar to GW2 but it feels... Bigger and more grand, and no two characters are the same in terms of build and what they're using, unlike GW2. I think I like it more
They're updating it soon so you can group up cross-faction
Oh thank christ. Hopefully I can get into dungeons in a reasonable time now :v:
They're updating it soon so you can group up cross-faction
But isn't that a bit lore-breaking? Oh, and would you mind posting a list of your addons? I especially like the bar at the top. We did the first dungeon yesterday, I was level 12, my friend 15 and two others were 14. We were all DPS, but managed just fine, only wiped on the first fight. Are the other dungeons as easy?
Infohub is the bar at the top. Foundry Tactical Combat is the Health/Stamina bars + Damage dealt and incoming to the sides. Recount is the DPS meter, GPL is grind locations but I don't use it, it doesn't add anything you don't already know. Thief's Knapsack is the bar in the lower right, showing number of items stolen, their worth, how many interactions with the fence you have remaining for the day, and estimated daily take based on what you have and how many interactions you have left. Along with other stuff like a timer for when your bounty expires

Saw an enemy walk straight through a wall and come back in. Decided to investigate.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/xAdM6SW.jpg[/t] I love that whenever quest characters are having a boring conversation I can just stand around and obnoxiously play the flute.
Saw an enemy walk straight through a wall and come back in. Decided to investigate.
Saw that too. I even reported that last week. One of the spirits ran into the wall and could't figure out how to get back out
Welp I think I got my first reporting today, and it was complete bullshit. First, this group announces in zone chat that there would be a super serious and private wedding (at a public place in a busy city) and that only "Those invited" can attend. So I did what anyone in a MMORPG would do. Me and about 5 others showed up to the wedding-in-progress in our undies, alternating between drinking heavily and drunk dancing. Soon others joined in, and we had about 20-30 people jumping around in their underpants. They started screaming that we were ruining everything and that we weren't invited. After no one left one of them shouted "I'M REPORTING ALL OF YOU" and ran up to me and reported. It was my first report and I was drunkenly dancing in my undies at a wedding I wasn't invited to.
Glorious
God the AD zones are so boring in terms of environment. I started an EP character recently and the environments are immediately 100x more interesting.

Though they seriously could have made the Auridon more interesting. The books always spoke of Alinor being so otherwordly and elegant, being "made of glass or insect wings". Even if the architecture of Auridon was merely inspired by it, it would have been far more fascinating than what we got. Though I'll give the AD zones this; the quests you get in them have succeeded in making me chuckle more times than either of the other two alliances.

DC consists of either forest environment or desert environment, and AD is flat out dense forest (at least as far as I've played and seen). The snow mixed with grass land looks fantastic and is definitely the most appealing in my eyes

What's the current state of the game? Fun? Not fun? What's the main appeal? I like Elder Scrolls but have never been a huge MMO player.
I feel like the loot starts to get better after level 20. I'm actually finding a decent variety of gear now, instead of either nothing or 4 gold on an enemy.
