[Sp]if kaz knew big boss didnt get shrapnel in his head, how in the fuck did he think venom was big boss. [/sp]
because he's a [sp]crazy motherfucker in MG1/2 that threatened to nuke the whole world. even in Peacewalker he admits heaps of times to just loving war and tries his very hardest to make war a business. And worst of all, him and kaz convince themselves and others that their just a necessary part of the world. BB/venom is a violent, manipulating, warmonger that really has no place existing in the world past. Compare that to Raiden/Solid Snake, who admit that there isn't a place for them outside of the battlefield whereas BB knows that, and just decides to create a business centered around endless war and recruits others, assumingly tortures them or at the very least manipulates them to join his endless war cause. +the whole recruiting child soldiers thing[/sp]
First off, he's an idealist who wants a place where soldiers are honoured, not used and then discarded. He never says, in any of the "Solid" games, that he 'loves war' or wants 'endless war', that's just horseshit. Second, the men he takes from the battlefield end up following him, not because they're tortured, but because he manages to convince them to join him through his charisma and his skill. If you need proof of that, listen to the Japanese tape in GZ concerning his recruitment of Kaz for the first time. So in MG1 and 2, both of which were pretty poorly written and are 90% retconned already, he was a villain. He was never portrayed as such after.
Continue to finish sideops, eventually you'll unlock more story. It's stupid, but bear with it.
Oh, apparently I was only one side ops mission away from triggering the next mission. :v: Figures.
[sp]To be honest, the reasons for N313 Intrude are vague now (I haven't gotten to the last cassette tapes though). My personal theory is that Big Boss and Venom were working together during that time, BB sending in Snake so that he'd tell the world there was no metal gear and then subsequently die, leaving the world none the wiser. Things didn't exactly go as planned, but Boss being Boss he had a backup plan- rescue everyone in Outer Heaven and take them to Zanzibar.[/sp]
[sp]I still think that once Venom enters the N313 tape into the player, it triggers something stored in his subconscious that was planted in the hypnotherapy that changes his goals and personality. That's why he sees himself as Demon in the mirror after the plays the Intrude N313 Tape and after he smashes the mirror, we see a non-bloody version of Venom leaving. Like a part of his personality left him, the personality you were building up in the game is not existent anymore. Big Boss is leading Solid Snake into Outer Heaven where he kills Venom in the end. The whole operations was a suicide mission AND a diversion from whats happening in Zanzibar Land. Venom was expendable if not, it was even necessary to kill him.[/sp]
There are some inconstancies with Quiet's relationship to Big Boss. I haven't finished the full story yet but I noticed [sp]as I got my bond level maxed out with her she becomes more relaxed around him, then she jumps into that acid bath thing at motherbase to save the necklace and he is going crazy risking his own life to save her and carried her off when she comes back up. Then they have a romantic moment in the rain together, then suddenly I got the cutscene where she's being tortured and they throw salt water on her which can kill her, but Snake is just standing by with no cares at all.[/sp]
[sp]I just completed "hellbound". Am i right in assuming that Sahelantropus being operational is related to the fourth child?[/sp]
Was Huey a [sp]sociopath[/sp] in pw?
Was Huey a [sp]sociopath[/sp] in pw?
No, but rather excentric. He used the designs by Sokolov and Granin for the Peace Walker Project without giving them any credit. [sp]Well, they are both dead anyways.[/sp] He even gets called out for that in one of the tapes in PW and he doesn't really know how to react to the allegation.
I just finished the game. In terms of actual gameplay, it was great. However, i still think that it's definitely the worst MGS game in terms of story, and the open world itself is completely lifeless and empty. The ending [sp] ruins Big Boss completely, as well as the parts of the game itself and the rest of the series. It makes little sense and there are so many unexplained things, not just with Venom Snake not really being Big Boss either. [/sp]
[sp]Eh, I wouldn't say that it ruined Big Boss. It didn't turn him into a straight up evil child murderer or warlord like we thought (which is kind of disappointing), but it at least turned him into a manipulative bastard. Honestly, I think the story would have been a lot better without the body double plot. Just tweak a bunch of story details and you're golden. On the bright side, I got my Alligator spinoff.[/sp]
[Sp]if kaz knew big boss didnt get shrapnel in his head, how in the fuck did he think venom was big boss. [/sp]
How about adding some context to that spoiler?
No, but rather excentric. He used the designs by Sokolov and Granin for the Peace Walker Project without giving them any credit. [sp]Well, they are both dead anyways.[/sp] He even gets called out for that in one of the tapes in PW and he doesn't really know how to react to the allegation.
But Sokolov is alive. Unless that part of PoOps was retconned, but then again I don't see anything that says otherwise.
Was Huey a [sp]sociopath[/sp] in pw?
Sort of, actually. [sp]A narcissistic one, incapable of seeing himself as doing any wrong.[/sp] [editline]11th September 2015[/editline] Eight hours, eleven minutes to the mysterious announcement - assuming there will even be one.
How about adding some context to that spoiler?
[sp]Kaz saw Big Boss in the hospital right after GZ, when he went into a coma. In fact, one of the doctors downright said that the Medic got shrapnel to the skull. Kind of odd that Kaz would forget that, but it WAS nine years after all.[/sp]
stuff that i fucked the quote up with
I seem to remember a quote where he says his life belongs on the battlefield or something but idk, either way he's had a million chances to try and return to a normal life, but instead decides to continue the business of war I also doubt he managed to just convince every soldier to join him through charisma, and what happens to the soldiers that decide to say no? Kaz freaks the fuck out whenever anybody in MGSV knows of their position and ocelot has a pretty massive affinity for torture anyway. Not to mention his dudes have this absurd cult following to him He literally [sp]tricks a dude into thinking he's him so he can take the heat off him for awhile while he creates a soldier paradise full of child soldiers (to have a better life than they already have granted) and also tricks Kaz, a dude that admires him massively just so he can try and follow muh bosses will[/sp] he's not a supervillain on skullface or volgin/huey tier but he's a shitty cog in a shitty machine that keeps spinning

He was too focused on revenge, anyway.[/sp]
But Sokolov is alive. Unless that part of PoOps was retconned, but then again I don't see anything that says otherwise.
Well he is in Portable Ops but as far as we know, it's not canon anymore. There is no confirmation on if anything in the San Hieronymo Incident has ever happened or not. Kojima still says... some parts of Portable Ops are canon... this statement as vague as the storytelling in Phantom Pain.
And yes, he did say he belonged on the battlefield. Because he's been a soldier since he was a child and knows no other life.

Just over time he became less and less heroic as he struggled to find a place for himself and peoples like him; not really his fault.
So if I want to [sp]not lose Quiet, do I need to keep the butterfly emblem FOREVER, or can I safely change it now that I've finished the story?[/sp]
This is easily my favourite game for now and will be for a while. I guess it helps that I can just enjoy it fully and ignore the supposedly butchered story because I've not really touched anything Metal Gear except for Revengeance and Ground Zeroes, I only know the basics because of some reading I did.
unfinished story aside even as a huge mg fan for ages the game is still superb
FOB stuff [sp]How do I use a nuke?[/sp]
A person invaded me a few days ago and botched it. I stole about 40k resources in return. Now the poor bugger invaded me again today and flopped. And this time, there are 3 whole platforms for me to rob once I get this level 3 battle dress.
Can you people add context to your spoilers seriously?I'm afraid to click most of them cause i haven't got the true ending yet
Taken from LMAO pics, credit goes to sirdownloadsalot [t]http://i.imgur.com/7DiRXLc.jpg[/t]
o shit im famous Anyways, about 1 mission and two important side-ops into Chapter 2, figured I might start using Quiet again. But in the [sp]XOF base mission[/sp], telling DD to stab motherfuckers while I was sniping other motherfuckers just felt SO COOL
[sp]How do I do mission 46? I have my emblem as a butterfly.. but I'm so damn clueless[/sp]
Do all the story side ops and upgrade Mother Base.
Ingsoc is as good as confirmed not a hoax. [editline]11th September 2015[/editline] also, I'm sorry, I can't resist. [t]http://i.imgur.com/36rmteP.jpg[/t]
So if I want to [sp]not lose Quiet, do I need to keep the butterfly emblem FOREVER, or can I safely change it now that I've finished the story?[/sp]
you have to keep it forever i think, or at least it triggered about half a dozen missions after i removed it [editline]11th September 2015[/editline]
FOB stuff [sp]How do I use a nuke?[/sp]
you don't afaik just having it prevents people under a certain heroism rating from invading your FOB
Anyone got advice for getting the FOX emblem for your emblem creator? I know its 3 perfect stealth in a row are there 3 easy ones to do?
I accidentally triggered Quiet's boss battle as I was ending my play session for this morning. I panicked on the spot because I was no where near prepared but still got an S rank with non lethal. That also explains why there was no landing zone near the Afghan power plant. Spared the cutie, off to[sp]Huey[/sp].
