Anyone got advice for getting the FOX emblem for your emblem creator? I know its 3 perfect stealth in a row are there 3 easy ones to do?
If you mean this FOX Then I'm sure you can get it without perfect stealth. I've never perfect stealthed a single mission and I still got it. Dunno exactly how, though. Sorry if I'm not much help

Lingua Franca. On The Trail. All can be done in under 3 minutes each. Reflex Mode is okay to be used. Foxhound is Perfect Stealth, No Kills with no Reflex Mode.
honestly i don't really get why people don't like the skulls boss fights they're fun, and very metal gear. you have to wait for your opening to actually do anything, and before that they can wreck your shit. the only thing i'd say is that they go on a bit long, but hell, the cyborg ninja fight in MGS1 takes fucking forever unless you know the optimal placement and how to master the fight most metal gear bosses take forever, and i thought the skulls had a relatively simple system that was fun to play against. granted i've only done up until about mission 30 (having just done the [sp]airport[/sp] and subsequent infiltration of [sp]okb zero[/sp] so maybe they get worse? I dunno. i think the skulls were introduced well with enough mystery surrouding them to make them intimidating and make you seriously consider just running away from them, but they give you the option to fight back which is neat. Subsistence missions blow ass. Hey you've unlocked all this cool shit in the last 30 hours now you can't use any of it to progress the story. Mission 31 spoilers [sp]I thought the game was over when I beat mission 31 and the credits started rolling. The credits finished and it's just like CHAPTER 2 COMMENCE and i'm screaming[/sp]
Foxhound is Perfect Stealth, No Kills with no Reflex Mode.
Strange, I got White Mamba with perfect stealth no kills and no reflex, yet I still got octopus. Kinda wish I got a new one at this point.

extracting A+ soldiers is so satisfying
Subsistence missions blow ass. Hey you've unlocked all this cool shit in the last 30 hours now you can't use any of it to progress the story.
I found them quite fun, well at least the C2W one. It stops the mission from being just another walk in, mark honkies, and neutralize who you need to affair, and makes you actually have to think hard on how to do what you need to do.
C2W subsistence i did the exact same thing i did on normal C2W that is, put the DZ right over the objective, buzz the dishes with the helo minigun, and fly out
The more I hear of post-31 missions, it sounds a lot like Peace Walker where you'd have to do sideops over and over again before unlocking more story. Seems they just added ~main missions~ that were retreads just so it would seem you were advancing to something. Kinda gave the wrong message, it seems.
extracting A+ soldiers is so satisfying
I'm at the point where I only extract A++ and above, but it feels so wrong leaving behind A+ guys. The poor dears deserve a good home.
:toot:
If anyone else wants to get this don't destroy the eastern communications camp equipment and then start the C2W mission. Make sure it's repaired before you do. Otherwise the mission results will lock with a - rank and it won't accept the S rank, even though you need it for the achievement. I've been stuck forever with this bug, already have everything else S ranked.
C2W subsistence i did the exact same thing i did on normal C2W that is, put the DZ right over the objective, buzz the dishes with the helo minigun, and fly out
Then you made that mission boring as fuck. I dropped in on one of the further back ones and had to work out how to get a gun, then explosives to destroy the dishes.
Strange, I got White Mamba with perfect stealth no kills and no reflex, yet I still got octopus. Kinda wish I got a new one at this point.
You have to do it 3 missions in a row to get the codename.
I think it's a fun challenge to break up the usual. In the C2W Subsistence mission I thought "oh this will be easy" until I realized I couldn't blow up the things due to having no C4, so I had to shoot the radio station on the desk, creating a bunch of noise while I was up close and personal.

Missions doesn't feel like a missions itself... more like sidequests. For example, there was a mission to extract 2 hostages, him and her. I've completed it in less than 5 minutes. Is this truly worth title "Mission" ?
So whats the deal with the Boaster trait? I know it fakes their actual skill level but MB shows the same, so is there any way to actually find out if they are good or not or does it even matter?

The next mission is also short, but when you get back you find out "oh shit there's an infection on motherbase," so I'm inclined to believe they made them short on purpose.[/sp]

I agree that it's lazy that the later main missions are hard mode versions of earlier ones, but I actually want more of the hard mode ones. Specifically more Subsistence and No Alert ones. The extreme mode boss fights are pretty shitty though, as most of them are just a case of finding a cheap way of fudging it, normally by doing something like deploying with a tank.

and what's this hate for the Skulls? their fights are awesome. the whole game sets you up with a hundred different ways to fight but the Skulls are the only enemies who require actual experimentation. if they're frustrating to fight you're just a shitter Quiet's encounter was the worst boss fight imo. It's basically The End, but for babies. The laser, sniper warning, and gunshot-before-bullet-impact warning made it unrewardingly easy.
