people are mad because [sp]everything they did didnt matter or something? or that it was a cheap twist?[/sp]
People are mad because [sp]the game didn't have any interesting story, and the body double twist was the icing on the cake for being both a rather weak twist and happening far too late into the story. The fact it's so late into the game is why it invalidates all you've done. The fact the game heavily manipulates the player by altering or hiding crucial elements in order to maintain the twist doesn't help either.[/sp]
Not that this really bothers me, but anyone else disappointed that there wasn't more of the [sp]flaming whale?[/sp] We only saw it once and that was it. I was hoping we get to do some sick boss battle with it or something.
I just assumed that was a hallucination.
Fuck mission 45 Fucking [sp]Tanks[/sp]
[sp]Let's say that Big Boss didn't have a phantom...what would the point of MG1 be? What is Big Boss' goal?[/sp]
big boss's goal overall is to [sp]create a nation for soldiers.[/sp] outer heaven was just one iteration of it.
i blame all of the missed opportunities and weird design solely on konami, i cannot see kojima doing what was done considering how polished peace walker was in those regards
Can't believe we didn't even get one idol song music video in TPP what a rip off.
all the bitching about the ending spoilers[sp]venom snake stuff is really annoying, you play as big boss in all but the name, quit complaining, the ending even tells the player straight up that venom did important shit to keep his legacy looking good[/sp]
Literally nothing in MGSV had any consequence in the overall story. They could have just released the epilogue scene, because that's the only thing that happened in MGSV that even remotely mattered. Heck, they could have just not released MGSV and the overall story of Metal Gear would be unaffected. [Sp]Venom Snake does all this shit with Diamond Dogs, and then it turns out none of it matters. Venom Snake just dies in MG1 and Diamond Dogs plus the base you spent the whole game building fuck off to who cares where. Sahelanthropus is destroyed, never to be seen or mentioned or to become relevant again. Miller fucks off to Fox Hound and does nothing really important then dies with little consequence Skull Face never had any relevance to the overarching story to begin with. Ocelot is still out there fetishizing Big Boss as usual Big Boss practically wasn't even in this game, and nothing that happens here affects him once he leaves the hospital. Big Boss's legend/legacy/whatever didn't even matter since he goes by "Mr. X" between MGSV and Metal Gear 1. He built Outer Heaven without using the legend of Big Boss. etc[/sp]
if anything this sort of complaining about the [sp]kojima bait and switch[/sp] in comparison to mgs2 is exactly the same. after the game released people did nothing but bitch and moan that kojima fucked with people thinking they were going to play as snake and ended up playing as raiden.
Except MGS 2 had very apparent interesting story elements and a very apparent interesting commentary. It took a while for people to notice it, but it was noticed nonetheless. TPP has no story. There are no metaphors, no complex commentary to look for, no interesting overlaying themes. It's all played straight forward and it doesn't work.
i blame all of the missed opportunities and weird design solely on konami, i cannot see kojima doing what was done considering how polished peace walker was in those regards
All that drama surrounding him leaving Konami fucked everything up I guess. Which is pretty sad.
i blame all of the missed opportunities and weird design solely on konami, i cannot see kojima doing what was done considering how polished peace walker was in those regards
At the same time, I feel he went a bit mad with power- the budget did NOT need to be 80 million (without marketing), or at least if it was the amount could have been funnelled a better way. In the end, the game deserved another year or so, but I dunno if Kojima deserved one.
big boss's goal overall is to [sp]create a nation for soldiers.[/sp] outer heaven was just one iteration of it.
[sp]I meant, what would he gain by sending Gray Fox in, then "capturing him" to then send Solid Snake in to rescue him and destroy Metal Gear?...If my memory is right, BB told him to destroy Metal Gear, but if I am wrong, it was probably Gray Fox, which brings up my next question, if that is the case, why did Gray Fox betray Big Boss?[/sp]
[sp]venom snake is the big boss of outer heaven. the original big boss is the one that commandeers foxhound in mg1. in the case where gray fox fights against solid snake, he might have been manipulated into thinking venom snake = big boss[/sp]
You didn't read my original post properly. [sp]"Let's say that Big Boss didn't have a phantom...what would the point of MG1 be? What is Big Boss' goal?" I am asking what would have happened, what the plan and goal was, if Venom never existed and MG1 Big Boss was in fact the actual Big Boss.[/sp]
[sp]It could be because of the LET project- Big Boss, now unrecognizable from his past self (both physically and mentally), sees this young upstart Snake and realizes he's the perfect clone (with Eli obviously being the supposed imperfect clone). Boss sends Grey Fox, Snake's close friend/mentor, down to Outer Heaven to get "captured," (possibly so that Big Boss can pick him up to work in Zanzibar) so that Snake would decide to be the one to go down to Outer Heaven and destroy the metal gear. He was /supposed/ to die within Outer Heaven, reporting that there was no metal gear, but things didn't turn out that way and Snake destroyed the base. Sure, this doesn't really fit into the MG1 canon, but that's been retconned so many times I'm not surprised.[/sp]
image
Dude, spoil that man. Everyone hasn't gotten that far yet.
Is there a way to get the word "Sad" in the emblem editor? I really want to make my emblem "Sad Eagle" [sp] I swear if you get this reference I'm gonna go nuts.[/sp]
Anybody else feel after a while playing missions is kinda a chore? I'm not even interested in building up MB or developing new things anymore. I just wanna finish the game already.
I found a random S rank soldier hanging round in the Oilfield plant [sp] where you blow it up [/sp] while doing a prisoner rescue......so overjoyed!
people are mad because [sp]everything they did didnt matter or something? or that it was a cheap twist?[/sp]
Because anyone that paid attention since GZ pretty much knew the twist. The twist means nothing either.
Holy shit i just found a soldier with 2 S rank stats and the rest A++ in the same fucking place.
So taking the stun double barrel, putting 100 rounds into it and a red dot sight makes it realllllly overpowered.
GUESS WHAT INGSOC.ORG IS!? [sp]FUCKING NOTHING![/sp]
Soooooooo, I finally finished the game with the second ending. How do I unlock mission 45? I noticed the mission list skips it. I also noticed [sp]Kaz mentioned earlier that Quiet went missing in Afghanistan, but nothing popped up in my mission list about it. Is that mission 45? I have max bond with her, so wouldn't it pop up for me?[/sp]

So, anyone know why D-Horse has a head and foot slot? I don't think I've ever been able to change them.
"only the choosen will see the truth"
Check your sideops.
Derp, I'm dumb, thanks.
Wow who would have thought Roosterteeth would have sunk to such levels to ride the coat-tails of Kojima to promote their channel.
