Some of you disagreed with me on MGS6 being about Liquid Snake's origins, but as it stands, it's literally the only place for the game to continue. If it were to continue.
game between MGS2 and 4 showing how raiden got his robo-body in detail, game between 3 and 5 showing what ocelot was up to during the nine years, MG1 and 2 remake in the fox engine metal gear has such a fleshed out universe that they could make games in it forever if konami didnt hate money/video games
seeing more of what snake and otacon did as Philanthropy would be a good setup for some real fun missions i think
Yeah but there's no real plot to expand upon there. Unless they pull the MGSV route and just add in another villain.
metal gear has such a fleshed out universe that they could make games in it forever if konami didnt hate money/video games
let this be the one case where i'm really happy konami hates money and video games then
"Don't touch that dial" Well if this isn't P.T., then I'm gonna rip my dick off :toxx:
my vision is fading i think im going to collapse help why did i do this (User was banned for this post ("Toxx Clause: will unban when dick is ripped off" - Big Dumb American))
Yeah but there's no real plot to expand upon there. Unless they pull the MGSV route and just add in another villain.
the gameplay in all MGS games has been fun enough where i'd be fine with a game that were literally just a bunch of one-off stories with no huge villains or anything. i could see it being a spin-off or something but not like it'd ever happen anyway

I think the reason why the ending feels so disappointing for most is two fold. 1. Konami refused to give Kojima anymore time/money to properly finish the game 2. Kojima himself is tired of only working on Metal Gear for so long. He's had so many aspirations that aren't related to Metal Gear, but I'm sure Konami wouldn't have that as it wouldn't be a guaranteed money maker like another Metal Gear game would. Not to mention that trying to tie together all of the events in a series as crazy with its continuity as MGS is just insane, even for Kojima. Hell, even before MGS5, there were huge debates about how shit worked in MGS4 and how some shit in MGS4 somehow made some of the events in MGS2 real retroactively, because before that [sp]the explanation for the majority of MGS2 was that it was all just a simulation, with shit tons of evidence in the game to back that up.[/sp] There's so many crazy ideas that go unexplained that it's pretty much impossible to tie them all together coherently. To bring up the second point though, I personally can't wait to see what Kojima comes up with sans Konami. Just think how he must feel to be free of Konami, free to aspire to create the ideas he's had locked up in his head for so long. I really do want Kojima to direct a horror game though, because if the prologue and a certain later game section to MGS5 as well as P.T. are any indication, the guy can create some pretty impactful and scary settings. Though personally, I'd also like to see a spiritual successor to SNATCHER, but I doubt that's going to happen.
Where is my prequel with The Boss and the Cobra Unit in WW2
no. we don't need to know everything that ever happened in the metal gear solid series. let the Boss remain the legend all of BB's games have made her out to be.
Dirty Duck is ready to take you hostage in his own standalone game, D-Duck Tales! (A Woo-ooh!)
I think we all know the metal gear universe character who deserves his own standalone game to flesh out his backstory and fall from grace
Kojima didn't really have to come up with a new story line. I would have been satisfied just seeing [sp]Big Boss become evil and building Outer Heaven[/sp]. Which is what most of use were expecting, anyway. Speaking of, did Venom Snake ever actually do anything straight up evil? Everything he did was morally ambiguous, sure, but everything every Metal Gear protag does is morally ambiguous. So much for being a "demon".
Where is my prequel with The Boss and the Cobra Unit in WW2
Where's my prequel with BB's great grandfather being a veteran from the Civil War, and the game focusing on the massive changes the industrial revolution brought to America as well as how Sigmund Freud discovering the basis for mental experimentation leading somehow to the creation of the project that birthed Psycho Mantis? Also, it turns out that BB's great grandfather is really the one who assassinated Lincoln because something about Lincoln actually working for another government to bring down America.
apparently [sp]euthanizing sick people[/sp] is super taboo in japan
Hmm, interesting. Still, is that really enough to call one's self a demon, even with those cultural standards? [Sp]It's not like he could save them, and letting them live would have caused an epidemic.[/sp]
I'm beginning to think my game is bugged. I've been aimlessly doing side ops missions for hours, and I still don't have mission 46.
The whole reason I want a Liquid game is because this one dissapointed with the whole [sp]descent into madness[/sp] thing. It'd be fucking great to actually play a bad guy in the MGS games.
Not really spoiler [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/COjQFxrWwAA65Sd.png[/t]
I liked Skull Face's voice acting ;(
So I got MGSV today and I just have to ask [sp] Why do I need to capture a Russian Interpreter if Ocelot is on my fucking staff, you lazy strelok cyka [/sp]
Basically, I don't think everyone will have closure with BB's story until we get the game where Solid Snake is the final boss, and no matter what you do, you can't beat him. It's also got to include the tidbit that your men can be confused into thinking it's night time because of an owl hooting.
So I got MGSV today and I just have to ask [sp] Why do I need to capture a Russian Interpreter if Ocelot is on my fucking staff, you lazy strelok cyka [/sp]
This has been asked so many times :v: Just speaking another language isn't enough to interpret for someone else in real time. Ocelot doesn't have that skill.
I liked Skull Face's voice acting ;(
He's got a great voice actor. It's just the writing that's a bit silly. It's like a proper gentleman voicing Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget. It just comes off as very silly and out of place in a game that bills itself on being dark and serious.
I think the whole "WHOOOOOOOOOOO?!?!!!" thing pretty much dropped an atom bomb on his performance.
The worst part about the writing in the later Metal Gear for me is how the series went from being magical realism with a dash of sci-fi to just straight science fiction where all the fun superpowers where retroactively explained away by nanomachines and [sp]parasites.[/sp] It was a lot more fun when all the bosses just had superpowers with no real explanation. But in all honesty it's pretty obvious that Kojima didn't want to work on Metal Gear after Metal Gear Solid 2. If you play through Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 they all have a pretty consistent style and tone, they feel like logical follow ups to each other. Metal Gear Solid 3 have a very different style and tone to the earlier games, the story is a lot more campy and humorous then previously and the gameplay is a lot more slower paced then the faster arcadey stealth of previous games. It's still recognizable as Metal Gear but it's also pretty obvious that Kojima wanted to do something different. After Metal Gear Solid 4 it seems like Kojima was a lot more interested with experimenting with the gameplay and didn't really care about continuing a story that he wanted to end years ago anyway. I also think that the co-writer of the first three Solid games, Tomokazu Fukushima, had a lot to do with making the writing of those games so enjoyable.
Oi, spoiler tag the [sp]parasites.[/sp] But yeah I was really disappointed they explained [sp]The Cobra Unit's powers. It was really charming in MGS3 that they were just supernatural freaks, no explanation needed.[/sp]
as people get billy bonged by kojima and gets mad, i'm just sitting here listening to this tape.
Oi, spoiler tag the [sp]parasites.[/sp]
Yeah, you're right. Added a spoiler tag in my previous post.
But yeah I was really disappointed they explained [sp]The Cobra Unit's powers. It was really charming in MGS3 that they were just supernatural freaks, no explanation needed.[/sp]
[sp]What's really get to me is that Code Talker implies that he got the parasites from the dead body of The End yet at the end of his boss fight The End just blew up like everyone else in the Cobra Unit. You'd think that there shouldn't be much of a body left for him to extract any parasites from.[/sp]
So I just got through MGSV spoiler [sp]Chapter 1. Although I know the ultimate twist I'm actually disappointed by something else. It's Skull Face. In Ground Zeroes he seemed sinister and you wanted to know more about him. Here, everything he does feels so uninspired. I like the parasite and vocal virus ideas but the way he uses them... I just wanted more than the most obvious evil thing. Another thing that hurts is Snake. He finally meets the source of his pain from 9 years ago and he just stares at him. Previously when I went for Code Talker I was actually surprised Snake actually asked him few questions. I really don't mind if Snake would talk less but I just need more reactions from him. Kiefer has a great voice and they fucked up making him almost mute.[/sp]

I thought it was just "Quiet has photosynthesis like the End, but uses parasites." Even if so, that would only really be the End and the Fear. All the others didn't need them.[/sp]
I wonder if this tape is used so soldiers won't shoot you or try to enter the toilet while you're hiding in it.
If you play it over the iDroid's speakers, enemy soldiers will avoid the toilet.
