(Ending spoilers) [sp]What was the significance of Babby Mantis grabbing the parasite vial after Snake tossed it back when Skullface died? I know the kids are infected on the island in the cut ending, but Mantis and Eli are buddies so it doesn't make any sense for him to infect them.[/sp]
[sp]If I'm remembering this right, Eli uses it to kill all the adults on the island because the kids vocal chords aren't developed enough to be effected. Unfortunately for Eli, he apparently is just over the puberty limit, and the virus is going to kill him until Mantis removes it somehow.[/sp] On a related note, if Mantis has all these crazy powers in TPP, it's a little weird that his best strategy for the MGS1 fight is just throwing furniture at Snake.

Did they ever mention the parasite's effect on children before? How'd they know it wouldn't kill them?[/sp]
ME3 wasn't inherently "oh my god this is fucking terrible," it was just disappointing until the ending shit on everything. That's just my opinion though. Here, this game.. affects nothing but (ending spoilers) [sp]the whole body double shit affecting Outer Heaven,[/sp] and ultimately resolves and answers little to the series, not even trying to tie up loose ends like Peace Walker or MGS4. It might as well be a detour from Peace Walker that ultimately ends up in the same destination anyway.
As someone who is a recent fan to the series. i'm not really sure much story could even be added to this game. The way i see it MGS has a clear beginning and end, with MGS1 + 2 being there in the middle MGS3 starting the story and PW showing BB's turn into doing what he wants and discarding people when he sees fit. Gameplay is fucking fantastic though, it quells my Metal gear thirst easily.
His psychic thingamajig field was stronger when he was a child.
everyone knows that the rule of [del]wizards[/del] psychics is that they are stronger the further they are from middle age. babies and senile old men make the best [del]wizards[/del] psychics.
So what's this talk about needing an emblem with a butterfly????
[sp]Did they ever mention the parasite's effect on children before? How'd they know it wouldn't kill them?[/sp]
[sp]I can't remember exactly, but I think Miller or Code Talker mentions it when they realize that it's the kids who brought the Kikongo infection to Mother Base.[/sp]
So what's this talk about needing an emblem with a butterfly????
Quiet Spoilers: [sp]Quiet leaves later on in the game, but she doesn't if you have a butterfly in your emblem. There's absolutely no reason why she doesn't leave if you have a butterfly in your emblem, and it's never mentioned in the game. You also have to keep it on your emblem forever after like mission 40 or so, or she'll leave a little while after you removed it.[/sp]
Okay so HAMBURGER TAPE SPOILER [sp]did Kaz just absorb the Boss's will through... a chemically-infused burger?[/sp]
Huh, thanks for the info.
Here's a thought (heavy spoilers) [sp]The reason for Butterfly emblem being reason Quiet doesn't leave? there's 2 different things that overlap. First, is that your relationship with Quiet is determined by YOU alone, you decide to spare or kill her, take her on missions, and if your bond is high enough, you inadvertedly lose her. but, you ARE given one final choice. Now, going back to another thought. What is the animal that Big Boss has most connection with? The Butterfly. It seems to represent either his phantom pain or inability to cope with loss. in MGS3, when he loses his eye, he tries to catch a butterfly to reassure himself he's still capable fighter, but later on he suceeds catching one made of C3. Peace Walker: it's been 10 years since The Boss died and he failed to cope with her death(still wears her bandana), so when the whole Mammal Pod thing happens, his pent up anger is released and he shifts blame on the boss herself , thinking she's abandoned him. and inside the mamal pod, are a swarm of buterflies, probably having relevance to Big Boss' accumulated anger over that time. Phantom Pain. There's 2 instances where butterflies make an appearance. 1st one is with Hallucination Paz. due to the guilt of his inability to save her, BB imagined the circumstances where paz survived, clinging onto it, so when the reality of her death hits him, he tries to catch a butterfly, only to realise it was never there. And now, the final one, and probably the most cruel one. Since Quiet's relationship with BB is defined by you, you, like the BB himself, feel certain attachment due to her being a viable gameplay companion, for one thing. So when she leaves, she isn't available anymore and like BB, you too, feel the phantom pain of losing her and it would only make sense to present the final choice to YOU. people who are aware butterfly emlbelm makes her stay already know she leaves, much like BB knows that that Paz isn't there. But you can still choose to reject that reality and instead catch a buttefly yourself, putting it on your emlbem, making her stay. You know it's not the way it's supposed to happen but you can still choose denial. Or you can let the butterfly go and face the truth. this is why I think that Quiet is quite an ingenious character since she's companion you can feel most relation to, since BB doesn't speak much himself and neither does she, leaving you to fill the blanks, leaving it up to you to determine what their relationship is, so it would only make sense to allow you to make the ultimate choice. Not to mention that people who lost her act not unlike Miller, wishing to return back what they have lost.[/sp]
I love this gun glitch.
Or just that [sp]Quiet's emblem is the butterfly, you can see it in the development tab[/sp]
but [sp]butterfly appeared in 2 previous games as well, so while it's her emblem, it exists for reason I specified.[/sp]
I'm seriously serious. Fuck Mission..[sp]41[/sp]!
why do people want a patch to [sp]bring quiet back, that's kind of the point is that you lose her[/sp]
D-Dog is superior to Quiet in every way.
Since the whole part about Eli and his [sp]island utopia bullshit[/sp] was mostly cut from the game, could it be possible that the [sp]english strain he gets from Mantis[/sp] is basically a tie-in with Metal Gear Solid 1 when he said [sp]he got a bargaining chip from Big Boss but parted from it[/sp], or is that a reference to [sp]Sahelanthropus[/sp] or possibly both ?
why do people want a patch to [sp]bring quiet back, that's kind of the point is that you lose her[/sp]
Because shortly after you finish the game and it is kind of annoying in your replaying of the game to be [sp]deprived of one quarter of the game's buddies[/sp]
why do people want a patch to [sp]bring quiet back, that's kind of the point is that you lose her[/sp]
Because [sp]this is a game where you can magically jump back in time and complete already finished missions while breaking the timeline by bringing shit you're not even supposed to have at that point of the game, so Quiet being entirely removed feels like a kick in the balls. If this was a completely linear game like the previous ones it'd be fine but it's not.[/sp] [editline]12th September 2015[/editline]
D-Dog is superior to Quiet in every way.
D-Dog makes stealth easier by marking all enemies around you, but his offensive capabilities suck because towards the late game any enemy can blow his shit to bits with a shotgun. Quiet is clearly designed for offensive play and will allow the player to go all in rather than sneak about. If you pick one buddy for a playstyle that doesn't fit them, of course they're gonna be worse.
How do you do the glitch? I've tried googling it and can't find shit.
PC specific, Use Left click to select a gun part. Exit that, find a gun you want to customize make sure it has a red X without a "none" in the submenu and double left click, now you should have the ability to make silly guns. Video if i'm terrible at explaining (try not to change the glitched gun parts normally you will C2D)

What was 2:46 to 2:59 about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9JV0EvCkMI&feature=youtu.be The launch trailer fyi. It never happens ingame.
[sp]especially if she disappears before you unlock all her stuff[/sp]
[sp]It's even worse after because some of her costumes are unlocked literally two missions before she permanently leaves. You'll barely ever get any use of the Sniper Wolf or Gray XOF outfits due to that. It's incredibly retarded because the entire part of her story where she goes to die could have been avoided in ten hundred ways. She could have written a letter, she could have used code talker as an interpret, BB could have carried a syringe of the magical sterilizing microbe thing just in case, so on and so forth.[/sp] [editline]12th September 2015[/editline]
What was 2:46 to 2:59 about? personally I love quiet, but maybe I'm a bit on the aggressive side. first, tell her to scout an outpost, get close, start sniping dudes with a silenced sniper, and then have quiet join in when she's done, and then silenced assault rifle to get the rest. sometimes I'll scan them and check their skills and capture the better ones.
D-Dog is superior to Quiet in every way.
Just go with D-Walker and do burnouts on your enemies' faces
Gonna be honest, this whole game and experience felt like some kind of wierd spin-off of previous games in a way
