Metal Gear Solid - A Hideo Kojima Thread - More black lines than a CIA file - Games

I wish our bases were just a [I]little[/I] bit more customisable than they already are. For example, I want to change the appearence of my Soldiers so that they arent all wearing Olive camo on a Navy Blue base :v:

Came back from working fan expo solidly all weekend and it was a great time to be an MGSV fan Lotsa good cosplay but this guy stood out. Thanks to all who replied, I might look into emulating the older games. I was never that much into stealth games but the plot seems ridiculous enough to get me interested.

This series was always on my list of things to check out in the future, but I still don't really have a way to play any of them. Except Ground Zeroes and V.

If you have a PS3, pick up the Legacy Collection ($30 on eBay). That has every game in the series (that you need to play anyway) before MGSV Ground Zeroes & The Phantom Pain. Play them in release order; Metal Gear 1 > MG2 > Metal Gear Solid 1 > MGS2 > MGS3 > MGS4 > MGS Peace Walker. MG1 and 2 are in the extras menu of MGS3, I believe. If you don't have a PS3, you can get the HD Collection for 360, then emulate/watch MGS1 and watch MGS4 (Kefka production on YouTube has good movie versions).

Mission 30: [sp]On the jeep ride with Skull Face, did anyone else notice you can use your iDroid? The only thing that you're able to access is the cassette tapes. I wonder if that was just for music sake, or do the iDroid's speakers hold some sort of secret if you play a certain tape? It's a stretch, but thought it would be worth sharing. I think it's completely awesome that we can dive into prone by pressing X/square/space, however I'm still saddened by the lack of a roll in the game, they could have made it so that double tapping X/square/space would do a roll into crouch. Now I can't get the benefit of nukes, but I have 8 of them.

Neat little glitch I found, if you pass a save/checkpoint with stealth camo, it's duration is refreshed if you reload.

(Related to the above, [B]MAJOR STORY SPOILERS[/B] [sp]I understood why he didn't want Quiet aboard, but after BB and crew wrecked Skullface, his whole "look at the man to your left and your right" speech and the 1984 style posters felt really...weird. As far as I can tell he didn't have any of those kinds of feelings up to this point, and now that XOF has had its head cut off he starts worrying that Cipher has infiltrated the force? This whole arc would have made a million times more sense if it had taken place in the missions leading up to Skull Face's defeat, but after it feels really weird.[/sp]

Side Ops Intel agent spoilers. [sp]So I just took up a side op to rescue an old Mother Base intel agent and it turns out to be Hideo Kojima. I already have a Hideo Kojima in my base. Does this mean I get double the Hideo Kojima action?[/sp]
